DDA Chapter 9

Marci - I hope they scale back on those late games! There REALLY should be a rule in place about how late kids under a certain age can be playing. Hopefully Andrew will get to play more in the upcoming games!
I have heard of Two Sisters but I can't remember if I have ever been to an event that they catered.

Allears is reporting:

SHOW ENDING: According to a July 10th report in the Orlando Sentinel, Pocahontas and Her Forest Friends will have it's last show September 27, 2008. No word on a replacement.

I saw that in a "rumor" thread yesterday. We saw the show once. That was enough. Hope they replace it with something good! :)

I am guessing another Nemo show... I bet two is not enough...

:rotfl2:

I used to really like her, but lately she has started to grate on my nerves. I think the problem with the Disney show last night is that it was too much "behind the scenes" stuff. And it was a rerun. I can watch park footage over and over, but watching Samantha brown jump on a trampoline and hang from the ceiling at Cirque is boring.

I like the places Samantha visits and the tips she gives, but for some reason, her laugh just grates on my nerves. But I sure would love to travel with her for all the perks she gets!!!

I saw that show and once was enough for me too.

Riley & his team lost really bad last night, but they were all in pretty good spirits after the game. It is only the 1st one, many more to go! They play again today at 4pm, so maybe today will be better.
Hope today's game goes well for him!
Theresa...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Two fascinating things to report from my vastly boring life ... ;)

1. Remember our new Garmin GPS? The one that chose interesting routes through urban areas? Well, I emailed Garmin CS while we were away to explain what I perceived to be a problem. They got back to me and gave some tips to correct the routing through the middle of cities instead of on the interstates and main highways that were paralleling those roads. That didn't work so they asked me to plot a trip in the Boston area and send them every route that "Jill" selected.

We didn't hear back from them until yesterday. I got an email authorizing me to ship Jill back to her maker. I KNEW there was something wrong with that thing! :rotfl2:

2. Delta... Our flights have changed again. Not the flight number or anything major like that. They have changed the arrival time of one of them by 2 minutes. :confused3 The other change is in the layover between our route down. :sad2: To make things even more interesting, this entails seat assignment changes every time! And Bob and I are not together even though our reservations are linked. We give up. We decided that we are leaving it alone until a few weeks before the flights. We are not going to get good deals on any other carrier right now and I firmly believe that all airlines are struggling to stay afloat. Read on...

My boss made all the travel arrangements for the staff to go to Atlanta next month. I pulled up my itinerary yesterday and, lo and behold, I had two return flights on Airtran from Atlanta to Richmond. The flight down is fine, but I found it odd that we all got to fly back twice. So I called Yamaha Travel and "Sandy" told me that I, along with my co-workers, were on her list of people to contact today. Seems Airtran has canceled our 8:30 flight from ATL to RIC and booked us on a 4:50 flight instead. How kind of them. Our seminar is over at 5:00 and is in a suburb of Atlanta on the other side of the city from the airport. I have not yet been issued a teleportation device from the technology gurus, so I don't think this will work. "Sandy" agreed with me and said she would get right to work on it. She called me back in about 20 minutes and was happy to report that she had canceled the Airtran flights and found us flights with almost the same times. Wait for it......

on Delta. I have decided that my entire foreseeable future lies in the hands of that airline!

Elin, This kind of excitement is not fun at all.

Good to hear about the GPS return.

Sorry about the problem with Air Tran and Delta. I can remember when all I flew was Delta or Us Air and never had a problem. I wish I could fly Southwest for all of my trips. At least I have not had a problem flying Air Tran to see my sister in Atlanta so far.

Happy Belated Birthday Elin!

Happy Belated Birthday Katie!

Deb,
Sounds like you're having a great time. Your photopass photos are great!

Bernadette,
I hope the biopsy is negative for your DH. That is very good that he gets tested since his dad had it.:wizard:

Bernadette I think the nightgown is cute!

Have a fabulous trip, Karen! Can't wait to see pics of you with your new pup!

Alyssa yay:cheer2: for loosing your first tooth!!

Chanon,
Prayers & pixiedust: for all your family having to deal with all of this at once.[/QUOTE]

I have heard of Two Sisters but I can't remember if I have ever been to an event that they catered.

I agree about the rule. What is even crazier is that we'll probably not get home until 1 a.m. again tonight, then could potentially play at 11 a.m. tomorrow, which means leaving Kaufman at 9 a.m. That's better than the less than four hours of sleep I got this morning, but still not very good. I'm hoping Randy can make it in tonight so he can drive back and forth to the games, instead of going in separate cars again.

Two Sisters caters a lot of events around town. They did my sister's reception at the Arboretum, and I had them cater the Sweet 16 party for our office. They have storefronts on Monticello and over by Baylor, so I ran to the one by Baylor during the boys' swim lessons yesterday.

I found out last night that my friend Teri will get her port next week, and will hopefully start chemo on July 21st. Hers will be infused over a 48 hour period, every two weeks.

Karen -- I'm sorry I won't be around for your visit through town. Sending lots of PD for the training with your new fur baby.

I'm through with my WW Angel Hair pasta so I best get back to work.

Well Nicholas still has his annoying cough, but now he has a fever of 101.5. Guess I need to figure out if I should take him to the doctor. I'm thinking it is viral but who knows.

I got a free code for a kid's ticket to 6 flags great adventure when you buy an adults ticket. I cannot use the code, so if anyone wants it, PM me

Elin glad you were able to return the GPS, sorry about the messed up flights!

Marci I hope Andrew will be able to play more & that you are able to get some rest :wizard:

Tammi hope Nicholas feels better soon :wizard:

It is storming a little here, so now we wait to see if games are canceled :confused3

THERESA I HOPE YOUR DAY IS FILLED WITH HAPPINESS!

That's very pretty, Janet.

Elin - I'm sorry your saga continues!

Am I the only mean mother that makes their kids do schoolwork during summer vacation? I got them the Summer Bridge books and they have to do one page a day. Plus read a little daily. Alyssa loves to do her workbook, but Nicholas is another story.

Count me in for another vote for the "I just don't get Samantha Brown's appeal" club.:confused3

I can take Samantha or leave her, but I found this new show to be interesting. And the thought of finding other things to do in the Orlando area was intriguing too. When Bob and I finally make the decision to "go" it will be helpful to see many other sides of that area. We wouldn't want to choose the wrong area to live in permanently since an apartment overlooking the International Gateway doesn't seem to be an option. ;)

Loved the pictures of the girls, Jennifer. They are so cute and still so little!

I used to really like her, but lately she has started to grate on my nerves. I think the problem with the Disney show last night is that it was too much "behind the scenes" stuff. And it was a rerun. Ooh, sorry for the confusion. I really like Samantha Brown actually, I'm just insanely jealous of her life. Insanely jealous. :rotfl:

Me too! They are looking so alert now, and I can't believe they are trying to hold their heads up already.

Thanks Tammi and Elin! Elise is doing much better than Avery with head control, but they are both trying :) I actually finally caught a better series of pictures of Elise's "tummy time". Before, every time I'd try she would lay back down  You'd think it was hard work or something! ;)

When the boys were younger I would buy them workbooks, I think it helps to keep their minds in gear for when school starts back up.

Of course now if I did this they would look at me like I head 3 heads :rotfl:
