Two fascinating things to report from my vastly boring life ...
1. Remember our new Garmin GPS? The one that chose interesting routes through urban areas? Well, I emailed Garmin CS while we were away to explain what I perceived to be a problem. They got back to me and gave some tips to correct the routing through the middle of cities instead of on the interstates and main highways that were paralleling those roads. That didn't work so they asked me to plot a trip in the Boston area and send them every route that "Jill" selected.
We didn't hear back from them until yesterday. I got an email authorizing me to ship Jill back to her maker. I KNEW there was something wrong with that thing!
2. Delta...

Our flights have changed again. Not the flight number or anything major like that. They have changed the arrival time of one of them by 2 minutes.

The other change is in the layover between our route down.

To make things even more interesting, this entails seat assignment changes every time! And Bob and I are not together even though our reservations are linked. We give up. We decided that we are leaving it alone until a few weeks before the flights. We are not going to get good deals on any other carrier right now and I firmly believe that all airlines are struggling to stay afloat. Read on...
My boss made all the travel arrangements for the staff to go to Atlanta next month. I pulled up my itinerary yesterday and, lo and behold, I had two return flights on Airtran from Atlanta to Richmond. The flight down is fine, but I found it odd that we all got to fly back twice. So I called Yamaha Travel and "Sandy" told me that I, along with my co-workers, were on her list of people to contact today. Seems Airtran has canceled our 8:30 flight from ATL to RIC and booked us on a 4:50 flight instead. How kind of them. Our seminar is over at 5:00 and is in a suburb of Atlanta on the other side of the city from the airport. I have not yet been issued a teleportation device from the technology gurus, so I don't think this will work. "Sandy" agreed with me and said she would get right to work on it. She called me back in about 20 minutes and was happy to report that she had canceled the Airtran flights and found us flights with almost the same times. Wait for it......
on Delta.

I have decided that my entire foreseeable future lies in the hands of that airline!
