It depends on just how wet the field gets, if there is lightening they do call the games off. I sat through quite a few games with Garrett where they played their games in the rain :sad2:

It has cleared up here, so the games are on. The coach wanted the players out to the park by 5pm in case they were able to play earlier than 8pm. So now I have no idea what time they will actually start. If they don't start till 8, that means all the boys have been out there for 3 hours.

I will be leaving here soon, guess I will watch the other teams play till it is time for Riley & his team.
:wizard: that you aren't out there for too long, and the Garrett plays great!

Anyone have an easy dessert recipe? or have a link to Glynis's recipes? Big family cookout on the 19th, asked to bring a covered dish, but I am going to bring a dessert too.

And guess what? I am refusing to do my deviled eggs, but they don't know it yet. ;) Talked my sister into doing them and I am taking crab/cheese stuffed mushrooms.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crab Stuffed Mushroom En Croute
(courtesy Paula Dean)

1/2 cup herb flavored cheese (recommended: Boursin)
1/2 cup finely minced crabmeat (may use imitation)
18 uniform sized mushrooms, stem removed
1 box phyllo pastry (will need at least 18 sheets)
1/3 cup butter, melted
Salt and freshly ground pepper
1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Combine cheese and crab in a small bowl. Divide crab mixture among the upside-down mushroom caps, stuffing the mushrooms. Carefully lay 6 sheets of phyllo dough on top of one another, brushing every other sheet with melted butter. Cut phyllo lengthwise down the center and then cut each half into 3 pieces to make 6 rectangles. Place a mushroom, cheese side up, in the center of each square. Season with salt and pepper. Lift sides of pastry over mushrooms to resemble small bundles and form a "neck," pinching edges together to seal. Repeat the entire procedure 2 more times.

Place on a greased baking sheet and brush with beaten egg. Bake for about 15 minutes until pastry is crisp and golden. Serve hot.
It seems that Glynis' recipe website is no longer active. Those mushrooms sound yummy!

Elizabeth - lots of prayers and :wizard: for your mom (and you) next week!

We went shopping this afternoon and the kids got some games for the Wii. Nicholas got Pokemon and Wall-E. Alyssa got Hannah Montana and we are really having fun with that. I don't like having to share this with my 2 kids!

I did see that the link is no longer in her siggy. The family loves the mushrooms.

Fly by photo post before dinner.... these and more on on the latest entry, but I thought I'd post a few here since we were talking earlier. I can't believe how alert (and how big!) the girls are getting already. They are, after all, "full term" today! :rotfl:

Have a good night, DDA! :goodvibes

Jennifer they are so adorable. I love how they snuggle together.

Seen it.

Tom - I was thinking about Spiderwick, but I didn't know if Alyssa would like it.

Anyone seen Penelope?

We loved Penelope but I am not sure Nicholas would like it...it is definitely a girls movie.

Thank you for all of the birthday wishes:goodvibes

You all were the first to wish me a happy birthday. Heading out to supper at my grandparents....hmmmmm if you hear of mass accidental poisoning it's my grandma's cooking:rotfl:

You've got it! It sounds like it's going to definitely be a busy week for your family!

Thanks!
My bosses are having all of the windows in the house replaced starting on Monday, so it should be a crazy week from every imaginable standpoint!

Any recommendations for a good movie to rent for the kids for movie night tonight? I'd like something with a good story and not animated. Since Nicholas isn't feeling well I thought we would just stay in and take it easy. He has a baseball game at 10 tomorrow morning so I think he can use the rest.

We haven't seen any movies lately. :confused3

Checked with mom and the MUGA scan is not 3 hours, something else she had done was. Plenty of good thoughts for her, now and throughout the coming months. :wizard:

I think Mom said it is about 2 hours. Not sure if that includes the time for the dye to go through her system or if that's just the test part.

I hope the game isn't too late and that Riley's team does well! :wizard:

Sounds like a very busy week for your mother. Lot's of :wizard: coming her way!

Thanks!! :)

Jennifer they are so adorable. I love how they snuggle together.

So sweet! It has been a long time since I have had a newborn to take care of.

Good luck with that! :scared:

Elizabeth

All the windows replaced?? :scared1: I would be taking princess to my house.

Riley just called & they are getting ready to play. So off I go, have a good evening all!

Jennifer, adorable, and I too love how they cuddle. :goodvibes

Jennifer I love the pictures of the girls. They are too cute. You are looking wonderful yourself :thumbsup2

We are hanging out in the camper tonight. We did evening EMH at Epcot last night and got to bed around 1 AM. We slept in then cleaned the camper. At least it was cool in here since it was high 90s outside. Around 2:30 we headed to AK. We saw FOTLK then went on Kilomanjaro Safari. While on the Safari it started to pour. I mean downpour. Chris was on the outside and he was as wet as he would have been on Kali. We were all wet, but he definitely got the worst of it. We opted to leave at that point since the rain wasn't lightening up and the puddles were well over ankle deep. I'm not sure if it has completely stopped raining yet :confused3 Hopefully we'll get to bed early tonight and hit a park early tomorrow. We want to do evening hours at Typhoon Lagoon tomorrow night too.

A few trip highlights so far.

Parasailing. All 5 of us and my Dad went parasailing at the Contemporary. It was expensive, but so much fun. We all loved it and we can now cross it off our bucket lists (you know the list of things you want to try before you die).

We also did the Fort Wilderness Trail Ride. It was fun, but a very slow pace. Chris, Nick and Hunter had never ridden a horse so it was something new for them. I used to ride when I was a kid so I would have liked to go a bit faster.

Chris and Kevin did the ride along at the Disney Speedway. They loved it. It was very exciting and something they will remember always. Kevin said that the driving experience wouldn't have been as much fun since he wouldn't have dared to go as fast as the professional driver went. Chris seems to disagree on that point and thinks he could go that fast on his own :rotfl2:

The Daytona Race that Chris, Mom, DB and DSIL went too was apparently quite the race. They had a great time with lots of stories. It was all decided in the very last lap. They loved their seats and would definitely go again.

BBB. Summer loved getting all Diva'd up. Even the boys watched the process ;)

We haven't won any dreams, and really haven't seen many happening. The CMs just don't seem as approachable or cheery this trip. Our waiters/waitresses have all been pretty horrible. It is a trick to just get drinks. I guess they know that they will be getting 18% so they don't bother trying :confused3

11 of us went to Whispering Canyon and the whole thing was not up to par. The food wasn't nearly as good as previous trips and our waiter would have been better suited for the haunted mansion.

We just got back from DQ. Apparently Alyssa decided that she needed to go "celebrate" losing her first tooth.
