Hope everyone had a happy, safe, and fun 4th of July. Dad is doing well. Has had trouble sleeping so the doctor gave him sleeping pills for the short term. Is having trouble getting comfortable but it is getting better slowly. Tonight he noticed that he was getting edema in his feet so we will be watching that over the weekend but other than that he is doing great. I am stressing out because I need to make sure I get all I need to get done by Thursday done. Just a few things but Friday will be here before I know it.

I am glad your Dad is improving, Karen. That is great news. And you know you will get everything done because IT IS FINALLY TIME TO GET YOUR PUP!!! :goodvibes

Amy is still at the hospital. Thank you all for the kind wishes and congratulations. Amy & Noah are having some alone time this evening. We expect them to be home tomorrow. Thought you would enjoy a sneak peek at what I am sure will be many more pictures to come ...

More to come soon. We are truly blessed!

--Kevin

Kevin - I am sitting here in the dining room of our B&B crying like an old fool. The pictures are truly wonderful. Congratulations to all of you. And thank you for caring about us all enough to come here on such a momentous day to post pictures for us to "ooh" and "ahh" over.

You and Amy make the cutest babies! :goodvibes

Thanks for all the support about my weight loss. My kids have decided to add a little incentive...:lmao: :lmao:

I do know my kids love me. We are in a 13 week challenge to lose weight by the time my DDil wants to hire a photographer for family pictures.

She decided to really sweeten the pot. If I win, the kids will take to me to California Grill in March, no whining allowed, their treat. They will hire Fairy Godmother to come and watch the kids. If I lose, ***I*** am the Fairy Godmother and get to watch the kids after they have amped them up on sugar and cafenine. They will go to the dining place of their choice.

And then the side bet. The child who loses the least has to accompany me on one of my "special days" no whining. They have to wear the matching t-shirt, lighted Mickey ears hats, watch teh parades, the shows and see the fireworks. Hopefully a late night. I showed my son the Pirate and Princess party. He said he was going to make Nicole Richie look like she needed liposuction.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And so it's on!! We are going to use the starting weight last week from the Wii. All of our little bloated Miis. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The shirt is going to say Making magical memories with my Mom....:rotfl:

I love love love this post!!
I think your bets are great incentive and predict that you will have much fun at CA Grill and the P&P Party!! :thumbsup2

Your excitement for the Wii and its Fit program has me thinking about buying one. Kristin and I would love to do something like that together. I need another "jump start" and she would like to take off about 10-15 pounds and get more toned. She hates doing yoga at our house so she has been sedentary since graduation. I think another purchase is in our future. Maybe as a combination birthday present for the two of us.

Yes I am up very late. John and I are total night owls, but we don't get to say up late often, so with him having a long weekend we decided to stay up as late as possible.

I am glad you both got to do this! I know from watching Kristin that she is a happier person when she can follow her internal clock and stay up late. Hope you enjoyed sleeping in late too. :goodvibes

Elizabeth I hope you able to get excited about your trip now. I know I am & I can't wait to check out POR!

I did tell the boys where we are staying, I just had to share with them. Garrett really likes the look of the resort & Riley likes the look of the pool. I have read a lot of negative about the buses, but we will just deal with it. We will be at Disney :yay:

I am trying to be excited. Nothing bad is happening right now, so I am kind of excited. I am just worried about Mom's chemo. :guilty:

Congrats on the pins!

Good luck on the Citricos ADR!!!!

Did you buy the Gorilla Pod for an SLR or SLR zoom? A "regular" Gorilla Pod won't work for your DH's dSLR.

Good thing you don't live in TX.:lmao:

Thanks! We definitely needed more pins! ;) I haven't called Dining today. I may wait until Monday. Nobody on the restaurants board has even mentioned Citrico's being open more nights, so I think I am safe. The thing will be whether or not I can move Kona to the night we have Citrico's booked.

We got the GorillaPod SLR Zoom. His big debate was if he wanted that or a traditional tripod. Then he had to decide if he wanted the ball head on the Gorilla Pod, because they don't carry that at REI. Online there was a package for $70 with the Pod, the ball head, and some other accessories and a cleaning kit. But he didn't want that. OK, whatever! :headache: I told him we are FINISHED with camera crap.

Janet is smaller than I am, so we could shop together and not fight over sizes if she lived in TX! :)

Glad your dad is doing better! How exciting to be so close to getting your new puppy!

:cheer2: :cheer2: go Stephanie go :cheer2: :cheer2:

What a great treat when you win the weight loss battle.

Stephanie - I can already guarantee that I will be the child who loses the least weight, so you can go ahead and make my shirt now. I wear a Large. Can't wait to spend the day with you!

I have no pictures from yesterday. I slept in till 7:00 and then got some computer work done before going to pick Kristin up from Kathrin's apartment. Kathrin and her friend decided to brave the dreary weather and head into Boston for the Fourth of July festivities and Kristin did not want to do that.

Bob joined us at a wonderful deli in Coolidge Corner (Zaftig's) and we had a very late breakfast. We had planned to go to a museum or two but they were all closed on Independence Day. Then we though we might go to the Aquarium but the tickets were sold out. So, instead, we came back to the Inn and sat around and talked and spent some time on our computers. We also got most of our packing done so that was an added bonus.

About 7:00 Kristin and I jumped on the T and went to one of the pub/restaurants we had really enjoyed earlier in the week (The Publick House at Washington Square). We had a couple of great beers and, for the second time this week, we shared probably the best steamed mussels I have ever eaten. We got back to the Inn about 10:00 and sat in the living room and talked some more. Since none of us had gotten to bed very early the night before I think we were in bed before 11:15 last night (although Bob's snoring once again kept Kristin awake). I predict she will sleep most of our trip home.

This has been a delightful week. The highlight of the trip, other than spending time with my family and my brother and his family has probably been this B&B. It is the first time we have ever tried this kind of accommodations and it will not be our last. I loved it from the start and by the end of the week Bob and Kristin agreed with me, just not quite as excitedly. I will certainly stay here at The Bertram Inn every time I come to Boston alone. It is convenient, reasonably priced and very restful. Can't ask for much more than that on a vacation!

Stephanie we will all be cheering you on :cheer2:

Elin sorry to hear your trip has come to an end, I have enjoyed reading about it & seeing your pictures.

Heidi hope the rain stays away today so you can cook out!

Elizabeth I know you are worried about your mother's chemo  Do you know how many treatments she is set up for & are they having this done as an out patient? If you have any questions you can email me. Trust me I know this is a very difficult time for you & your family, you are all in my thoughts :goodvibes

This time next month we be getting ready for our late flight to Disney :dance3:

I hope I am still this excited when the heat & humidity smacks me in the face

Good morning, Janet!
I don't know anything yet. I am assuming her oncologist will tell her on Wednesday what he has planned. Her schedule depends on which drugs they are using. The "taxols" are a 3 week dosing, some of the others are 2 weeks. I don't know when they plan to do her first infusion, either, but I imagine it will be before we leave.

Yes I did, thanks.

I am glad you both got to do this! I know from watching Kristin that she is a happier person when she can follow her internal clock and stay up late. Hope you enjoyed sleeping in late too. :goodvibes

Baby Noah Daniel is here! :goodvibes

He arrived at 1:35pm, weighing 8lb 8 oz and measuring 21 inches long! He and Amy are resting and recovering and will hopefully go home tomorrow afternoon. Alyssa and Matthew visited this afternoon and are very excited about their new baby brother!

Welcome to the world, Noah!!! Such a beautiful baby and mom is looking wonderful as well! Congratulations Amy, Kevin, Alyssa and Matthew.
