DDA Chapter 9

Sounds like Nicholas had a great 1st day for baseball!

I am glad you went to see a Dr. You might feel a little worse before you feel better & if you start to swell(my face looked hideous)get back to the Dr.! The shots will help though

Nicholas played in his very first ever baseball game this morning. He was the lead-off batter and was tagged out. The next 2 times up he had base hits, which turned into 2 runs. Plus he tagged someone out at second base. Needless to say, he had fun. They lost though, 9-7.

My poison ivy has been making me miserable. Last night I took an oatmeal bath and got some Calamine lotion, neither of which did much good. So after the baseball game I went to the pharmacist and he recommended going to the dr. to get a prescription for prednisone. I stopped at one of the urgent care clinics and ended up getting 2 shots, adrenaline and prednisone, and 2 prescriptions. I feel a bit better but still itch, which is making me very irritable about everything else. Hopefully in the next day or 2 I will see much improvement.

Parties for our kids are over and were a success! BK had 8 girls, Rees had 7 and Davis 5 (12 total and they all knew each other)!!! BK is headed to a "pretend sleepover" b'day party in an hour. I'll try to upload some pictures later. I'm exhausted and still hurting, so I'm off to have a glass of wine.

Glad the parties went well, Denise. Have 2 glasses of wine. ;)
I am about to make vodka & tonic for Kristin and me!

I must have done something right! Kristin and I used it to go to George Washington's Birthplace National Monument this afternoon and we made it back home!! :thumbsup2 Of course, it is a 30 mile straight shot with one turn at the very end. :rotfl2:

We did take a detour through a nearby subdivision on the way home to see what it would do. "She" was not very happy with us and kept "recalculating" until I finally took the turns requested... :lmao:

I love the "recalculating" :lmao:

Hal started talking back to her!!!!!:rotfl2:

Glad to hear the parties went well, look forward to seeing the pictures!

:wizard: that your pain goes away soon.

You and I think alike Elin---the ice clinked in the freezer and I swear I heard it call my name :lmao:

gin was gone so I was getting out the vodka too!! :rotfl:

A couple photos from today, although the one I wish I had was not to be. When we arrived at the park there was an entire herd of cows just standing in Pope's Creek (a tributary of the Potomac which you will see in the photos). I decided to come around to the other side of the exhibit building to get a better shot and when we got over there the dumb cows had gotten out of the water!

Kristin doesn't like gin, hence the vodka! :lmao:

I bet I will be the one who talks to "her" not Bob. ;)

great pictures from your day of fun Tammi and Elin :)

Congrats to Nicholas for playing so well, but it is too bad that all that work didn't ensure a win.

 for your poison ivy. I am glad you got to the clinic today and hopefully you will see a major change by tomorrow.

Ditto! :)

:lmao: You are our comic relief today, Heidi!!

I don't think she was trying to be funny. ;)
Trust me, Heidi, it took every ounce of restraint not to snap her smug little neck!

Elin - I like gin. Next time Momboss offers drink coupons I am going to TAKE THEM!

We have done nothing today. Well, except for Mom making a pie FROM SCRATCH for Diva while I was in the shower! Rolling pin use was not covered in her discharge papers but I don't think that was what they had in mind for her to be doing today! :headache: She DID tell me to clean up the kitchen afterwards, though! How nice that I get to clean up the mess she made doing something for Diva! She obviously feels well enough to defy her medical orders, which means by Monday night I will be VERY ready to go home.

The rest of the day we have been sitting here. The only channel that comes in clearly is PBS, so I have been watching PBS. :rolleyes1 I finished my library book the first day I was here.

Elizabeth, yup your right. Good on keeping your cool.

Oh Tom, Alyssa has her first loose tooth too.
Leighanna has lost her two first bottom teeth. But now it is the top front two that are loose. I am about to have a little girl with a toothless grin.:)
She is already practicing the song "All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth".
I am hoping they will be already in by then!:rotfl:

I worked in the yard all afternoon, and I really should be still, but a storm is about to come through, so I thought I should come in.

Elin, great photos. I love to visit historical places like that. Although Leighanna thinks that they are boring!

Im home for a few minutes so figured i would check in--today was the day we had 7 picnic invites! So far, weh ave been to two..and headed to another now! Busy busy today! hope you are all enjoying your day!

We just got home from recitals..I am so tired & it was freezing in the auditorium. Katie has now declared she wants to try out for company in the fall.:faint: 7 classes with 7 costumes to pay for on 5 nights a week. Just smack me ok??? Tomorrow we have another show.

Sounds like Nicholas is bringing alot to his team, that's great!!! Hope the shots work for you!

Yeah for Nicholas. Ouch for the poison ivy. Hopefully that will do the trick. Once you have caught it, it is much easier to catch it again. Be Aware.

And I, in turn, will ask the pilot to wave the wings at all the cars....

That would be one topsy turvy trip :faint:

I hope that leaving here at lunchtime on a Friday will be better than leaving here at dinner time. 95 becomes a parking lot about that time!

As for my house.... well.... it is better, but not ready yet. Kristin has been doing well keeping on top of the kitchen this week, so that helps. Tomorrow we plan to do the laundry we need for our trip and pack as much as we can. That means she has to unpack the last 2 suitcases that are still sitting in my living room! :yay: I think once they are gone it will look a lot better in here and my peace of mind will return.

I'm glad that you are getting help. Hopefully the trip will be the little push you need to get things done.

I'm glad that the turnout was better than you expected. I'm sure the kids are thrilled :thumbsup2

I weatherproofed the camper a bit as some of the caulking was wore. We also put a few more things in there. I picked up a few groceries for this week and added minutes to the kids cell phones.

I rented a few movies for us to watch tonight, but the kids made arrangements to sleep at my parent's house. I guess Chris and I can watch them together. I'm sure Chris will enjoy 27 Dresses :rotfl:
