DDA Chapter 9

Nicholas played in his very first ever baseball game this morning. He was the lead-off batter and was tagged out. The next 2 times up he had base hits, which turned into 2 runs. Plus he tagged someone out at second base. Needless to say, he had fun. They lost though, 9-7.

My poison ivy has been making me miserable. Last night I took an oatmeal bath and got some Calamine lotion, neither of which did much good. So after the baseball game I went to the pharmacist and he recommended going to the dr. to get a prescription for prednisone. I stopped at one of the urgent care clinics and ended up getting 2 shots, adrenaline and prednisone, and 2 prescriptions. I feel a bit better but still itch, which is making me very irritable about everything else. Hopefully in the next day or 2 I will see much improvement.

Tammy, I hope the shots help quickly for you.

One tip,,,get anything that you were wearing, sleeping in or on and wash it. The oils stay around and you do not want to get reinfected.

Tammi nice pictures. Hope the shots help? and I ditto what Terry just said.

Elizabeth, you are much better then I, cause by now diva girl would be dead.

Jennifer I love your pictures :goodvibes

Sending lot's of :wizard: for Kyle!

Neither of us have flinched at the care of newborns, but the lack of sleep is bothering him -- mostly because he doesn't feel like himself, so he's in this strange funk. He doesn't do well on little sleep, and while the girls are actually doing great sleeping, it's not what he's used to!

Me, I might get there eventually, but I continue to get MORE sleep than I have in months, so I feel this fantastic false sense that everything is a breeze! ;) My biggest complaint is that the days just go too quickly :rolleyes1 Well, that and that my legs alone look like I have on a fat suit (we're talking "Shallow Hal" size suit here!) :rotfl:

ETA: Kyle goes back to work on Monday, too, so I'm really concerned about how he'll do trying to balance that as well!

Good thinking Elin! Glad you were able to come up with a plan :thumbsup2

So, resourceful Elin came up with a plan... he can go into work and to his field meeting and stay up there. I teach until 12:30 on Thursday and Kristin and I will jump in the car and drive to Anne Arundel Mills mall to pick him up. Then we can check into our hotel earlier than we thought and relax a bit. Another upside to this is that we will miss a lot of the DC/Baltimore I-95 corridor traffic too! :thumbsup2

Have fun!

Well, I've got to get ready to go. We've got to finish packing, shower and load the car. A couple of errands to make sure Dad and Phil have the food they need next week, a quick jaunt to the library for some reading material for the week and we'll be off! Yippee!!!! I'd love to find out there is a computer I can access there, but I don't think that's the case. If not, I'll catch you all next Sunday! Have a great week!!

That quick thinking seems to have started the vacation off on a better foot :thumbsup2

Did your family help you recover your house. I remember the mess you found when you came home :confused3

I hope that leaving here at lunchtime on a Friday will be better than leaving here at dinner time. 95 becomes a parking lot about that time!

As for my house.... well.... it is better, but not ready yet. Kristin has been doing well keeping on top of the kitchen this week, so that helps. Tomorrow we plan to do the laundry we need for our trip and pack as much as we can. That means she has to unpack the last 2 suitcases that are still sitting in my living room! :yay: I think once they are gone it will look a lot better in here and my peace of mind will return.

Work was suprisingly busy last night. I got home around 10:30 and all 3 of my boys wanted Mommy time. We started watching Indiana Jones and the Last Cruisade until we started falling asleep. I never did get on here last night. It is funny how my kids become more loving as our vacations approach. Lots of extra hugs and kisses and snuggle time. Sorry guys, but I will suck up every second of that over checking in here ::yes::

Chris is working this morning, but the weather is nice. I'm heading outside to see what I can accomplish.

Have a great day DDA

I hope the money was great last night too! Last minute vacation funding is always nice. :thumbsup2

I would take family time over DDA time usually too. I don't blame you there at all. We will be here when they don't want to be around you quite as much. Like when you all get back from 3 weeks at Fort Wilderness.... :rotfl:

They are pretty easy to use & once you have one you won't want to go anywhere without one. Enjoy your time on the patio.

I must have done something right! Kristin and I used it to go to George Washington's Birthplace National Monument this afternoon and we made it back home!! :thumbsup2 Of course, it is a 30 mile straight shot with one turn at the very end. :rotfl2:

We did take a detour through a nearby subdivision on the way home to see what it would do. "She" was not very happy with us and kept "recalculating" until I finally took the turns requested... :lmao:

Elin, which model did you get?

I really like mine. There are so many things it can do for you. Hal was playing around with ours and trying so many options. It was fun to have him do it so I could see all it can do.

I got the Garmin 260 I wanted text to voice. It would have been nice to have a choice of voices, but this one does just fine.

I got the Garmin nuvi350 because I also wanted the MVP player for Bob's car. I don't think I have a voice choice either. Haven't gotten that far yet! But I don't object to "HER" at all.

Wonderful! Thank you for sharing :)

Congrats to Nicholas for playing so well, but it is too bad that all that work didn't ensure a win.

 for your poison ivy. I am glad you got to the clinic today and hopefully you will see a major change by tomorrow.

Parties for our kids are over and were a success! BK had 8 girls, Rees had 7 and Davis 5 (12 total and they all knew each other)!!! BK is headed to a "pretend sleepover" b'day party in an hour. I'll try to upload some pictures later. I'm exhausted and still hurting, so I'm off to have a glass of wine.
