DDA Chapter 8

I was raised Catholic and converted to Lutheran a few years after I met Bob.

It's going to be all black writing, and the whole ceremony (from readings to blessing to prayers) will be listed inside. We are keeping with this company because this is the one the church uses, and at $7.99 for 100 is an EXCELLENT price.

This is what we are still debating on. And your a great model! It's your exH that's the issue. ;)

Here's the invite we decided on:

The paper just "feels" good in your hand. Sounds funny, I know, but that was important to me. :teeth: I have to order those tonight! :faint:

We've definately decided on 1 Corinthians 13 1:13 and Psalm 100. Might add one more reading...might add the Gospel if we decide on communion.

Deb - It didn't quote yours! :headache: That's what we plan on doing too - his mom, then mine, then us during the ceremony.

Those invitations are beautiful!

After watching the wedding video, I realized I messed up the order of our two readings. The Ecclesiastes one was first (which I guess makes sense, since it's Old Testament) and the I Corinthians one was second. We didn't have a Gospel reading (probably because we didn't do communion). I was married in the Lutheran church that I grew up in, but Michael's family isn't really anything, so we didn't do the communion.

Those invitations are beautiful! I'm imagining you can't get something that matches that for the price you listed.... that is fantastic!
The brown color really isn't matching the dresses BUT I really don't think that anyone is going to be whipping out their invite going "OMG they don't match!" :rotfl:
This is how we did it, too. I like the idea of doing it all together.

All the wedding talk this morning made me go pull out my wedding video. We haven't watched it in many, many years. I was planning to sit down as a family and watch it on our 20th anniversary, but the day just sort of slipped away from us. I'm pretty sure that my kids have never seen it.

Video quality from 20 years ago is pretty bad. I hate my laugh and how I talk.

I'm actually glad that we didn't watch it as a family, because as soon as my aunt appeared on the screen followed soon after by my grandmothers, tears just started streaming down my face. I'm still a little teary.
You should see about getting it restored and put on DVD.

We drive to Green Bay tomorrow night and fly to Disney on Friday morning. We should be landing by noon. Hopefully, we'll be at the resort by 1pm.

Yay! I didn't realize that it was so close either. I can't wait to hear all about it!

I was thinking about that while I was watching it. I wonder who does that around here...I'll have to ask around.

Also, it did help me to realize that as much as I hate being on video and having pictures taken, someone else will be glad if I do it. I'll make sure that I get in some of the vacation photos this summer.

We have a preschool staff/board meeting at noon, so I guess I'd better go get ready.

Have a great rest of the day, DDA!

This is so true! :goodvibes

I'm glad to hear this. I can't tell you how much the photos and videos helped me when I lost my dad. They are a physical reminder that he was here and his memory will never fade! I love going back and looking at pictures of all my loved ones through the years.

Vicki - You need a "winter" and "summer" version of your packing list! :rotfl:
Wow, Friday! You are going to have so much FUN!! :yay:

Beth - We only have a few minutes of our wedding on video. We didn't hire a videographer, so it's just a bit of footage a cousin took for us before the battery in the camcorder died!

Theresa - I wanted the OB to get the vacuum immediately, but they put some handles up on each side of the bed and she told me to pull them like I was rowing a boat. I have never rowed a boat, but it worked anyway. :rotfl2:

I read on Touring Plans yesterday that they have been testing out the new bus system and they have found that it actually saves about 8 minutes of travel time compared to the old travel time charts. I find that impossible to believe since I am still seeing reports of hour long waits for buses. I e-mailed them to ask for more details.

Since DS doesn't really have many relatives I have found that he is fascinated by photos of DH's parents, pictures of DH & me when we were little, etc. I don't really LIKE to be photographed, but I can see how DS would like to have the pictures when he grows up.

They probably are saying that they load the long lines first (no matter how long those in a short line have been waiting). This would average out to less wait time over all. However, those unfortunate souls who are waiting at a bus stop with a short line are screwed! If you are just looking at the average and not worrying about the extremes, it is easy to cut time off the wait.

My MIL's parents died before she met and married my FIL. She didn't talk about her parents (she was an only child) and the pictures were stored away. Chuck doesn't even think of them as his grandparents. The first time that he really remembers her talking about them is when I was going through the pictures with her when I was scanning them asking who people were. It was too painful I guess.

Yet at the same time, I think of my great grandparents who I never met because my mother grew up sharing stories and pictures of them. That connection to my background is really important to me.

I don't know. Len just replied that they rode the buses an average of 80 times out of every resort. He did say they saw instances of 2 buses for the same park back to back, and instances of 48 minutes between buses, so it does happen. He suggested we rent a car for the SSR portion, but he went on to say that from SSR the bus is better (or no worse) to MK and AK. The other days we're at SSR we're going to Epcot. People are saying there isn't an issue with buses to Epcot. They show up two and three in a row!

You guys think I am bad with hotel discounts and ADRs? OMG, if I get started on rental cars there will be no end to it! It is SOOOO confusing! :faint: I think I am going to wait and see how the buses are, which was my original plan!

Ok, I'm off to work on my packing. I started it over a week ago but really need to start checking it against the lists to see what else I need. Becky & Katrina are going to help this afternoon. They are currently in town picking up some things that we needed.

I worked until 11pm last night for stuff for work. I think I have things under control there until later today.

Both are nice, but this one is gorgeous!

I know! And the family walking in the lower right (man, woman, stroller) is another friend they were with, who has been my Disney partner in crime for years. I told her (the one in the picture) it needs to be framed!

Those that have gone on cruise's, did you get the Ins. through Disney or elsewhere?

This 1/2 off deposit has me really leaning towards booking a cruise next year!
I used insuremytrip.com. They were reasonable & covered the cost of trip cancellation or delay. I got mine a month or so before the cruise.

Forgot to mention I received my Croc Capri's today & I love them! Wow are they comfy, I have new walking shoes for Disney :thumbsup2
:thumbsup2

Thanks for the links, Chanon. ;)

I like both the program cover and the unity candle. Seems like you are finally down to all the little things that make a wedding so very personal. That is exciting! I think it is wonderful that your uncle can participate. I know it will make it very special for all of you. :goodvibes
DITTO Chanon!!:goodvibes

Nick woke up in tears. The motrin had worn off and the sore throat was horrible. Chris gave him more motrin and sudafed and sent him back to bed. I gave him some throat strips and throat spray and we'll keep him medicated today. Hopefully it will pass soon. He is looking quite comfy all tucked in on the couch for now.

Colby has Speech Therapy this morning then his end of year party around lunchtime. I'd better get ready.
:wizard: for Nick!!!

We were talking about our "road trip" last night, and dh said, "You aren't making us wear matching t-shirts, right? Because I'll have to draw the line at that!" :rotfl: I told him that is only for WDW.
:rotfl: My family is scared that I will start doing that outside of Disney too!:lmao:

Deb - Hope Nick feels better soon! :wizard:

I am jealous of all of you who just had one push and the baby popped out! I pushed for two hours and NOTHING happened! I don't think my epidural was very good. I was still in horrible pain but it numbed all the muscles I needed to push with. The Dr. came in and said in another 30 minutes she was going to vacuum him out, but I was able to get him out on my own. It really is a good thing I only wanted one child because I don't think I would have gone through it again.
I had pre-eclampsia so I wasn't allowed to get out of the bed, my water broke about 2 hours into the induction which I have heard makes labor more painful, I told the nurse I was going to throw up during transition and she blew me off. The next time she came in I was puking. I went from 6 cm to 10 cm REALLY fast, but DS's head was nowhere near the birth canal. He had every intention of staying in there. The OB said I would probably go to 42 weeks, but that was before my blood pressure shot through the roof. And they say you "forget" how painful childbirth is. HA! I don't think I will be forgetting anytime soon! :rotfl:
Well don't be jealous!! Took me 32 hours of labor to deliver Katie. I thought I was going to hit the celing at times it hurt so bad. I went in Wednesday & delivered her Friday. I was throwing up several times & just wouldn't dialate. When my Dr. started to give up & say C-section I started to deliver her. She started to go into distress & the cord was wrapped around her neck so tight they moved me from the delivery room to the OR. Thankfully she was ok when she popped out. The other 2 kids only took 6 hours of labor which was a cakewalk compared to having Katie.

Thats how I feel..I can't watch my wedding video as I start bawling when I see my uncle in it giving me away.:(
