We are all three going to Sakura Steak House for dinner. It is like Teppanyaki and are very much looking forward to dinner. See you all later!
I hope you had a great dinner!
Thanks to those who have been reading my trip report--just put a short installment up--i may get another up there tonight
I haven't posted over there, but I am really enjoying the trip report!
My boss and her DH did this a couple of years ago and loved it. However, I think that you still have to get out and do some walking to get to the top. And, in June or July it snowed up there!
We don't mind some walking, I just don't plan to do the 10+ hour hike to the top. I won't mind a little snow (that could even be fun), but I hope we don't run into too much!
I'm sure they would let you do the swap. I don't really care for ToT but will do it if I HAVE to for Lizzy & Joe. Joe's only been on once and said he liked it. We didn't do it in January.
She has to go on HM-it is SO cool now! I finally got all 3 kids of mine on it-all on their "solo" trips. It will be fun to ride as a family in Aug.
Thanks! We'll ask at ToT and see what they say. I am excited to see HM, so Laura will just have to either come with us or wait on a bench!
I had preeclampsia with Lizzy and had to go to the hospital for a non stress test and blood test. The nurse on duty was awful!!!! Took forever to get someone to draw my blood. I was sure my BP was going to go through the roof and they'd make me stay. My SIL, who is a minister and used to dealing with people was the one who brought me and she finally got them to draw the blood. I wasn't home long before my water broke and I had to go back. I was really worried about what nurses would be on duty but the shift had changed by the time I got back. Lizzy was born the next morning around 8:30.
When I was having Miles, I got to the hospital just a little before 11:00 pm (shift change). I think it was a busy night for them, and the nurse who took me in was in a nasty mood. She muttered several things under her breath about me not actually being in labor and that I was going to end up going home after wasting their time. She sent me in to give a urine specimen and told me she'd be right back to hook me to the monitors. She also told me she'd call the midwife, since I hadn't thought to do it before we left home. She never returned, and, as it turned out, never called the midwife. At about 12:50 dh went out to let the nurses know that I was getting close. The nurses told him that there was nobody in the room, and he quipped, "There are about to be two people in that room." They called my midwife and then raced into the room. The nurse actually paled when she checked me and realized that I was fully effaced and 10cm. They asked me to try not to push until the midwife arrived, and I did my best. It's really kind of impossible not to. Fortunately, the midwife made it there very quickly. Miles was born in one push at 1:05 am.
I have pictures of my brother and sister and I playing in the snow on Mt. Rainier on my birthday on July 10. I probably played in it on your birthday too, except you weren't born yet...
We did not see any snow in Yellowstone that same trip in late July though.
I don't think I really want to see much snow, but I would like somewhat cool nights, since there is no A/C in the park cabins.
my cousin is already complaining but it is worth the long hours. everybody there become your family and its hard to say goodbye. if any of yall wanna see me graduate yall can coem. its washington, ks.
We'll be out of KS by then or we might have just shown up.
If you have never been I would go. Well if it really isn't out of your way. You could see several things in a day and a half. You could do the Shedd aquarium, Navy Pier, Sears tower, Planetarium and Astronomy museum. You could just get some deep dish pizza at Ginos.
You can definitely stay outside and take the train in. Are you RVing or just vanning it??
In college I had a diverted trip from Milwaukee, WI. They took us to Chicago so that we could fly out faster out of the Midway airport. We ended up having the night in Chicago but we were definitely outside of the city and we took the train in.
I think we got to the city at like 9pm and left the city at 2am. We left for the airport at 4am. Let's just say the super nice Hilton hotel rooms we were staying in paid for by the NCAA got used little if at all that night.

But we had a great time.
Many people with me had never been to Chicago before, so we had to see the city. I had been there, done that but I still went along for the ride.
Thanks! I'm pretty sure this is our new route, though I still have to research a few things (like hotel prices). We are just "vanning" it.
for those interested here's a lap(or mountain) dulcimer:
http://www.timmyabell.com/instruments/dulcimer.htm
It has a beautiful sound and Abi is actually quite accomplished on it
Congrats to Abi! I'd love to hear her.
We're actually in our basement now, with one touching down about 20 miles west (in our alma mater college town!). We made it home just in time! I told Kyle, I'll probably go into labor now
Oh my goodness! I am glad that you made it home and weren't out on the roads.
3 and half hours of baseball....................................................
Daniel had some more good plays & the whole team was "on". They won 12-4in the playoffs.
I fed them mac & cheese, & gave Dan & Sophie a bath & they are sleeping. Katie is still in the shower..I hate late nights like this but it can't be helped.
Tomorrow is Daniel's 9th birthday...I am happy & sad all at once.
Feels like just yesterday he was a screaming, vomiting, colickly, non sleeping, bundle of joy!
I know what you mean! My "baby" is 9. How in the world did that happen?!
Here is
June and
July and
August and
September and
October.
We met with our Pastor on Monday night to talk about the wedding. It was really interesting. We found out we have the option between communion and no communion and WE could be the ones to give it out during the ceremony. (I thought that was interesting...) We have to pick our readings (does anyone want to share what they used???) and my uncle (an ordained minister) can help with the service all he wants except for the vows. We also have to pick our wedding
program covers...we seem to be leaning towards "Two Shall Become One", the one with the white bible and rings, and the ivory cross one. There is also
this unity candle which is a great price too.
I really like those program covers and the candle. Are you Lutheran? I just know that Augsburg Fortress is ELCA. Our first reading was I Corinthians 13:1-13. That is the one that is used at a lot of weddings with "love is patient and kind" and ending with "the greatest of these is love." Our second reading was Ecclesiastes 3:1-14 which is "there is a season..."
