DDA Chapter 8

Call your doctor's office on your cell and have the on-call doc verbally give the nurse the oders.

That's not a bad idea. The nurse called the on-call OB who is in the hospital, and he is supposedly on his way up. They still haven't even drawn any blood though?! I'm starving, and she says I can't eat even though a) my doctor has no problem with me eating and b) it would never be contraindicated for these blood tests to eat dinner.

I told Kyle, I am going to be very frank with my OB the next time anything comes up. If I am not delivering these babies on "this" admission (this one, or the next if there is one) I am not coming here. This has been a nightmare every time! I appreciate that they are concerned about fetal distress, but that's not my issue! :rotfl:

Hi kids - I thought I'd let you know

I just got a call from Kristine - they are currently in the new Toy Story ride at HS. They have been stuck for more than 1/2 hour and the lights are on. She took some pictures but she told me Little Green Men are taking her hostage and I'm to alert her loved ones that it may be death by Woody.

At least she's keeping her sense of humor!

Oh, no!!!

Back to my Tusker House dilemma.....would it be because AK closes at 5 that day that they do not have dinner hours? That would mean TH only serves dinner during EMH.

probably so! smarty!

Great! Do you have any suggestions for me? One friend mentioned that cog railway to the top of Pike's Peak, but that would run $150+ for our family! :scared1: Any idea if it is worth that price. This is vacation and all, but that seems a bit steep (no pun intended :rotfl: ). Also, We aren't going to have a lot of time in the area...maybe an evening and then half a day. I can tell you for certain, though, that I won't be driving Pike's Peak highway.

My boss and her DH did this a couple of years ago and loved it. However, I think that you still have to get out and do some walking to get to the top. And, in June or July it snowed up there!

You're welcome Elin! :goodvibes Enjoy your vacation!

Hi Marti! :yay: :yay: Sounds like Kristine will have a tall Toy Story to tell..:lmao:

Killed by a Woody. My death of choice.....:rotfl2: :cool1:

Today Kristin and I went to visit her old stomping grounds... George Washington's Boyhood Home at Ferry Farm and Kenmore Plantation. It was like old home week! They even talked to her a bit about possibly coming back there to work, but I think she is looking for something a little more lucrative. However, it would be a great job to start out with for the summer if nothing better comes up.

And I see you chose to "go there" too!! :rotfl2:

Denise, you and your family absolutely have my prayers. I remember that ordeal very clearly, and hope it can get resolved once and for all.

As for me, I am at the hospital again. They don't really intend to deliver just yet, so the goal is to still send me home after a few labs come back -- hopefully in a few hours. I wanted to pop on though and say mostly that I'll check in later. The last few days I have had increasing concerns that I'm glad they are taking seriously, and that's why I'm here now -- just to rule out a few things that are suspicious. I'll update in a much less vague fashion as soon as I can, but I'm sitting in the stupid hallway because they're too full to get me in a room. All I need is labs supposedly, so hopefully they'll stick me in a closet somewhere or something to get started, so I can go home if I'm going to! Just so you are sure, the babies are fine, and I'm fine. They just want to make sure things stay that way :)

I hope by the time I get to the last posts I find that things are indeed fine, Jennifer.

Oprah and Gail have nothing on us.
Aint that the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrew's team beat the team they were battling for second place last night, and Andrew pitched the first four innings. He did great, and I was so proud. A bunch of stupid errors (including multiple ones from our two coaches kids) almost cost us the game. We didn't get through until about 10:15, and then I had to stay up washing uniforms since Andrew plays again tonight.

Jake's team run ruled the other team, so he didn't get to pitch. He had two good hits, including a good shot to left field (which I missed -- shshhhh don't tell him...). That was their last game last night, and they ended in second place. My brother asked if he would play with his tournament team this weekend if they need him -- they have several kids that won't make it, so we'll see if that happens. I'm not telling Jake in case it falls through. I'm hoping that he doesn't have to play with them. We are all exhausted from last weekend, and this tournament is at least an hour and 15 minutes from us.

Have a great day everyone! :)
:woohoo: Congrats to the boys! Your schedule exhausts me!

I've never heard of CM's not having reservations. I wonder if you'd have success just walking up?
I couldn't get breakfast for May and I called about it a lot.

Miles isn't particularly fond of ToT, but he'd probably ride it at least once with us. Laura's favorite ride of all is ToT, and it's one of mine, too. So we will probably want to ride more than once. If we all wait in line together, can Laura go while I wait with Miles and then I go while she waits with Miles? He is tall enough to ride, so I don't think we can do the traditional "child swap". He is too young to wait alone that long.

Now, you all know that I wouldn't force him to ride and I'd sacrifice my ride if it is best for the kids, but I know the kind of responses people get when they ask these questions.

Thanks!
I'm sure they would let you do the swap. I don't really care for ToT but will do it if I HAVE to for Lizzy & Joe. Joe's only been on once and said he liked it. We didn't do it in January.

Thanks! I don't know what made it pop into my head. The only other ride we'll have an issue with is Haunted Mansion, and that is Laura, so she might just have to wait outside for a bit or give it another try. Yes, she loves ToT but refuses to ride HM...silly girl.
She has to go on HM-it is SO cool now! I finally got all 3 kids of mine on it-all on their "solo" trips. It will be fun to ride as a family in Aug.

I went all day yesterday with no Vicodin...and actually slept through the night:cool1: . Hurts a bit still.... mainly when I type...so I better stop!!:rotfl2:
Yay for sleep! Hope it continues to improve!

I just got the 2nd coat on & boy are my arms tired!

That's great!

DH doesn't like elevators - plain, normal elevators in office buildings - but he loves ToT. Go figure. :confused3
I don't like elevators either but I also don't like ToT.

Hi, everyone. I don't know if you remember, but over 2 years ago (March 2006) Rees was denied the insurance (Katie Beckett Medicaid for kids with complex medical conditions) after being on it 5+ years. We appealed, hired a lawyer, and never heard anything. I got a letter today with his court hearing for the appeal. It will be August 6th at 10am, which is 2 days after I start my new job. John and I are very nervous about it. If he is denied, they could hold us responsible for all the medical bills the past 2 years which would be well over $200,000. Please pray that our lawyer is able to settle this without going to court and that Rees wins his appeal.

The lawyer is going to cost us a pretty penny too, so we will likely cancel our Dec Disney trip. And we had planned to go to the beach at the end of July, but I think we'll put that on hold too. Hopefully once this is all settled, we will be able to escape for a few days.

Thanks for the prayers.

As for me, I am at the hospital again.
Hope you can get out of there soon!

I had preeclampsia with Lizzy and had to go to the hospital for a non stress test and blood test. The nurse on duty was awful!!!! Took forever to get someone to draw my blood. I was sure my BP was going to go through the roof and they'd make me stay. My SIL, who is a minister and used to dealing with people was the one who brought me and she finally got them to draw the blood. I wasn't home long before my water broke and I had to go back. I was really worried about what nurses would be on duty but the shift had changed by the time I got back. Lizzy was born the next morning around 8:30.

I can't remember if I updated or not since I've been interrupted today.

Nick has a viral thing, probably just a cold. Nothing that they were concerned about or that they could treat. They said that if he isn't better in a week to bring him back. They expected that he may have had more than one virus back to back which is the explanation for him not feeling well for 3 weeks. In any event he is home and just hanging out on the couch. Thanks for the concern.
Hope he can kick this thing soon!

you can't...there's a bar holding you in! 25 minutes into it..Bill said "I think I can break out of it" :lmao:
SO....how was it other than being trapped?

It's snowed down on the plains in July so it wouldn't surprise me...she will also probably still have some snow in certain places at Yellowstone...it's fun to play in the snow in shorts!!!

Deb-I hope Nick feels better fast

Jen-I think I would also ask to move to a different facility

Denise-you have my thoughts and prayers!!

Tammi-I hope you get all of your December stuff figured out

Jen-I'm sending pixie dust for the job!!

Abi was invited to do a Dulcimer (lap) workshop starting tonight so she's coming down this way and we'll eat over this way and she'll go to the first class. It's run by the elementary music teacher and Abi loved the dulcimer I wish we could afford to get her one of her own.

I have pictures of my brother and sister and I playing in the snow on Mt. Rainier on my birthday on July 10. I probably played in it on your birthday too, except you weren't born yet... :rotfl2:

We did not see any snow in Yellowstone that same trip in late July though.

DS is a contortionist - those Cirque performers have NOTHIN' on him. He could have climbed out and gone for help! :rotfl2:
So since you got a nice LONG look at the ride, what did you think?

Thanks Chanon!

:wizard: :wizard: Lot's of PD for you!

Well I guess you can call me Elizabeth, I did some number crunching and found out that I would actually save $12.18 if I changed our August ressies to room only and bought annual passes that would also cover November. The CM told me that there were no AP discounts available for August though :( . So if I order the passes now will the date be from the date of purchase or from the first use? Having the passes will be a good excuse to squeeze in another trip, maybe February?

Have a nice dinner, it's "fend for yourself" night around here.
