Hi guys....

Having fun.....but who thought all this darn fun would be soooo exhausting :lmao:

Did sea world today...I put some pictures in the trip report

I am definitely having a good time...but the heat is brutal. The weather in February & December is much more my cup of tea....I can't imagine the heat here for you folks heading down in August

I have no idea how hot it got here as I was out in it and never looked at a thermometer. It was HOT. The kids and I agreed that it was Disney hot :rotfl2:

So what can one family accomplish in 11 hours :confused3

Garage cleaned

Bottles and Cans brought to redemption center $52 :cool1:

Garbage to dump

Camper Outside completely washed roof to bottom. That took hours:headache: As we washed we found screws that had to be replaced and areas that need to be recaulked. The recaulking will wait for another day though.

The basement is semi reorganized and the snowmobiles and now in the basement.

The lawn is partially mowed

A few errands got ran or is it run?

So all in all a productive day here.

Pace yourself, Kristine! You still have a LOT of fun coming your way! :rotfl2:

DH is worried that Mom's dental work will delay her surgery, and that will mean I have flights booked for nothing. I think I can change the flights if I have to, but I bet I won't find more flights for $41 each way!

As our ticker keeps ticking I am getting nervous again. I was nervous that our trip would be ruined by bad bus service. Now I am worried about my mom being OK. When this started it seemed like there was ALL this time before the trip, but with all of the waiting it feels like we are almost right on top of the trip. Her surgery is barely 6 weeks before our departure. I don't feel quite as guilty as I did, but now I am worried. :worried:

Bite your tongue, woman!

I'm all is going well.

 I'm sorry you are going through all this stress.

A police officer was killed here in Fredericksburg late last night. A 40 yr. old man, with 2 yrs on, responded to a domestic dispute, exboyfriend armed with a gun. Bad guy was killed to, in an exchange of gunfire. It happened in an apt. complex parking lot, which is close to where Nicholas plays baseball. I feel so bad for the family.

This evening we had some thunder and a little rain and it is now 72º

According to the thermometer in my car it was 99 degrees, just about the entire way home from Lansdale. I think it was 109 when I got in the car. I think it is still about 92.

Our event went well. But I am glad that it is over.

 I'm sorry you are going through all this stress.

Thanks. Of course the biggest worry looming over us is guardianship of Diva Girl. Talk about stress. :(
Mom said she has her new lease agreement. But she was still reading over it - she hadn't signed it yet. I love how she acts like she has a choice in these things. She was saying she thinks they added the part about no candles. That is a standard clause - SO WHAT if they added it? Would she like to pack up and move somewhere that allows candles?
She also said she is almost finished with her '06 & '07 taxes, so she is obviously TRYING to get some of her ducks in a row.

I just want her surgery to be finished so we'll know what we're dealing with in terms of follow up (chemo, radiation, etc.). Most of the ladies on the breast cancer thread had 12-18 weeks of chemo (6 treatments spaced 2 or 3 weeks apart) followed by radiation. Mom thinks this is going to be so simple and that she'll be back to her normal routine in a couple of days. I am worried that her arm will have limited range of motion from lymph node removal. I am worried that the chemo will make her weak and tired. I am worried that the radiation will be hard for her because it is every day for 5 or 6 weeks. Cancer treatment is a long process, not just surgery and you go home cured. She hasn't joined any support groups (not even online). She hasn't gotten any counseling for Diva Girl. She hasn't looked into services she might need for after the surgery. I am worried that there will be many, many more "I should have..." statements. After we get home from WDW I will only have one vacation day left. I really need for things to to have the best possible outcome.

A friend sent this to me in an email and it made me laugh, so I am sharing it with you all:

Subject: FW: FW: THE KIND OF FACE...

A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry
has revealed that the kind of face a woman finds
attractive on a man can differ depending on where she
is in her menstrual cycle.

For example:

If she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with
rugged and masculine features.

However, if she is menstruating, menopausal or post
menopausal, she tends to be more attracted to a man
with duct tape over his mouth and a spear lodged in
his forehead while he is on fire.

No further studies are expected.
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I know I am late, but my sister and her DH sent Kristin a check for $200. I know that she is a niece and she graduated from college, but that is what was sent from a family member. One of my co-workers sent her a check for $50.
We ended giving $100. Dana is very close to that aunt, uncle & cousin. The party was nice. My BIL & his wife :stir: were there & we had a decent conversation with them. They are leaving tom'w & the kids are staying with my MIL for the summer. I know we will have a sleepover here & there. The kids enjoyed seeing their cousins.
We stopped at a cemetary where both sets of Dana's grand & great grand parents are buried so the kids could say "hi" & say a prayer.

I have to do that for Sex in the City. Bob really doesn't want to go see that...
I'll go with you! :yay:

That's terrible.

Robyn,
Glad to hear the girl is ok.

You are carrying so much on your shoulders right now Elizabeth....

That's terrible. Good thoughts for the officer's family.

Yesterday DH said a security guard shot and killed a shoplifter at a WalMart on a route that DH has been running. :scared1: Luckily DH wasn't in that store yesterday, or he probably would have been there when it happened. The shoplifter slashed the guard with a box cutter. Guard was expected to be OK.

Anne Marie - Glad the graduation party went well. How thoughtful of the BIL to dump his children for the summer!
My mom is pestering me to send DS up there to stay with her. Um, no, you are having SURGERY! And Diva Girl is very, very mean to DS. NO WAY am I sending him up there!

Robyn - I am glad the little girl is safe! I'm sure her mom was furious, but so happy to have her home!

I'm glad you had a nice visit with family today, Anne Marie.

I have a happy ending to report! The little girl was invited to a pool party yesterday. When she showed up at the friend's house the mom from the party asked the girl if she was sure her mom knew she was there and she told her yes. The little girl walked to the party directly from school and she did not have a bathing suit or towel. Once the helicopters were circling, the party mom had an "Aha" moment and called the girl's mom. I am very glad she was found safe!!

That is good news, indeed!

If you go, let me know what you think.

I liked it. There was a scene with ants that I HATED... closed my eyes because it was a little more than I wanted to see. But I really liked it.

It's about 2 hrs from here. I love to go there in the fall of the year.

OK, I am thinking about taking a Leave No Trace training being held there in October. So I was just wondering.
