DDA Chapter 8

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

Yes, I can tell time! But I had no time to get on here this morning before taking Kristin to meet a friend. She is going to spend a few days with her and then come back here Tuesday and look for a job!

It is 97 here right now. We are to continue getting hotter, hitting 105 on Monday. Our poor old AC is running non-stop.

It's 104 here, and that is the heat, without the humidity factored in!

Someone's thermostat is off!

I'm going by what is reported at cox.net.

A friend sent this to me in an email and it made me laugh, so I am sharing it with you all:

Subject: FW: FW: THE KIND OF FACE...

A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry
has revealed that the kind of face a woman finds
attractive on a man can differ depending on where she
is in her menstrual cycle.

For example:

If she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with
rugged and masculine features.

However, if she is menstruating, menopausal or post
menopausal, she tends to be more attracted to a man
with duct tape over his mouth and a spear lodged in
his forehead while he is on fire.

No further studies are expected.

:wave2: everyone.

I was hoping to catch up today, but we spent the morning running errands including finally getting my MO license. Guess I can't hold onto the dream that I still live in Boston anymore. ;) We also hit Target, bank, grocery store and Pet Store. Chalupa already has fleas so I wanted to get the Frontline going ASAP. Of course, I'm the only person who doesn't argue that Chalupa is their dog and who shelled out the $55 bucks? Of course, my husband is the one they chew to pieces and I didn't want that to get started again this year.

Pretty soon we've got to head to dance recital for Rachel and Kassie. Not sure what's after that, but Mom and I are pushing for dinner somewhere. It will be 6:30 or 7 before we get home and cooking for Dad after that doesn't sound like fun. So, it may be Cici's, but at least neither Mom or I are cooking that late.

Terra is sitting next to me trying to "make" money. There is an interesting assortment of items involved in this process so I think she's seeing if she can make the pile of pennies multiply. She really wants a hamster so she's trying to make the money for that appear somehow. There is a group that adopts them out through our PetSmart and a lot of times the cage, etc is included in the adoption fee (which is usually pretty reasonable). I promised we'd keep checking back for one of those options, but she's been asking for two straight weeks now so I guess we're headed that way.

Here's some :grouphug: and :wizard: all around. I hope that everyone is doing okay. Jennifer, I'm so happy to see that your cutie pies are still cooking away. I hope that everyone has been spared some of the ugly weather. We had tornado warnings yesterday, but I don't think any of the funnels actually touched down, so that was good.

Take care everyone and I'll try to catch up soon! I found the cable boxes yesterday so I think Momboss is getting the TV and internet set up soon. That would be great so that I can keep caught up on things a little better. It was rough yesterday with tornado sirens going off and nothing to consult for details on what was happening. I had to call Dad for the immediate info as the radio was just coming on and off with it.

Sweetie, I am dead serious, but talking John into it is another thing.
It is only 89º here, maybe into the low 90's later in the week.

If you are serious... the Fredericksburg area is lovely. But we think it is hot here this week!

Dana says $100 for the gift..I say $50! Maybe we'll go with $75.;)

I know I am late, but my sister and her DH sent Kristin a check for $200. I know that she is a niece and she graduated from college, but that is what was sent from a family member. One of my co-workers sent her a check for $50.

I have my Weather Channel Desktop Mas up on my tool bar... I feel like your number is closer to the real temp out there!!!

I tried to persuade Bob to go to the movies to see the new Indiana Jones movie. No luck. :(

I might have to go by myself!

Soo...

DS is already bored and this is only his third day off of school. He wants to go to the pool but DH just went down to get the mail and he said the pool is crowded. DS had the entire pool to himself yesterday. Better to go during the week!

We got a lovely packet for DH stating that we must PROVE, with DOCUMENTS, that DS and I are eligible for coverage as dependents. Now I have to get out things like our marriage license and DS's birth certificate, go copy them, and mail them in. What a PAIN IN THE TUSHY! I guess I'll take the documents to work on Monday and copy them on Dadboss's printer. My printer just prints. I understand the importance of employees not covering people they shouldn't be, but come on! If we don't send the documents in they will cancel our insurance.

We have had to do this for a while. They will eventually expect proof of your son's full-time enrollment in college... on a semester basis!

So what happened with my cousin. She had to go in for a check-up and the nurse said oh your water broke, doctor comes in and says no it didn't, but your are leaking.
So she got sent back home and we are still waiting for a new baby.

Either the nurse was tired or she needs more schooling as to when someones water breaks.

Yep. It says that. If he is 19 or older he must be a full-time student, and we must prove it. If we can prove it he can have insurance through DH until he is 25. Obviously we will have to KEEP proving that he is eligible.

I thought if you were leaking amniotic fluid they had to deliver within X number of hours because of the risk of infection? :confused3

The same for Kristin. This coming semester will be the first time in almost 30 years that we have not had a child insured!

I just talked to my mom. She scheduled an appt. to have 4 teeth extracted on Monday. I asked her if she talked to the surgeon about that, because that's only a week before her cancer surgery. If she has to take antibiotics for the teeth that might be a problem, OR if the teeth get infected she is NOT going to be able to have her breast surgery! :scared1: She hadn't thought of that. She said she will talk to the oral surgeon and then ask the breast surgeon if it is OK to have the teeth pulled. She has needed extensive dental work for a long time but she kept putting it off. Now she's afraid the teeth will get infected if she doesn't have them taken care of. If she gets an infection in her mouth while she is undergoing chemo I imagine that will be very, very bad. So I guess we'll see what they tell her.
I know I had to take antibiotics when I had my wisdom teeth pulled, but DH had one pulled not too long ago and I don't think he had antibiotics. :confused3

This is the family that he has been living with for 2 YEARS since he left here. So my kids are used to them. They have a boy a few years older than Nicholas, so he likes that. Alyssa is sorta left hanging though. XH works with the dad. I don't know how they can handle having someone live with them for so long. I could understand a month or 2 until he got on his feet, but come on! But again, XH NEEDS someone to hold his hand and do things for him. Prime example....the other day when they were forecasting bad storms, he leaves me a message asking if I've heard if Nicholas' baseball practice was canceled. I texted him and said they don't notify me, here's the cancelation number. I'm not responsible for feeding him info anymore. If he wants to know what is going on he needs to be proactive and find things out. See....you got me started. I could go on all day. Sorry for the rant.

He probably wouldn't fly off the handle, but I'm sure his eyeballs would roll. :rolleyes2

Of course not. That would entail too much quality time with his children. He is staying at a friend's timeshare, OUTSIDE of the park :faint: (thank goodness he's not using our DVC :thumbsup2 ), and is going with another family. I offered to let him use the kids APs that I bought last year, if he paid for one of them. So he agreed to do that, which is cheaper than him buying 2 4-day tickets for them, and I am $325 richer. :) I guess they are also going to Universal. So the kids will be down there for a week with him, and then 2 weeks later they go with me. Thinks that's too much?

Do you have any idea how much I will hate it if they win a night in the castle? :furious: :headache:

Too much Disney? Never!!!! We all know they will have a MUCH beter time with you!

I think $50 is more than enough

I tried to persuade Bob to go to the movies to see the new Indiana Jones movie. No luck. :(

I might have to go by myself!

I would go with you in a heart beat
