I just checked my bank account & the fraudulent charge has been put back into my account :cool1:

Now I am just waiting for a new card :thumbsup2

That's true! I actually was talking about that just now! Unfortunately, I can't nap to save my life. The monitors are so fickle that I have to sit one way, and one way only, and practically not breathe. Hence, the lack of sleep. I did tell them that if I have to stay longer, I refuse to be monitored continuously at night! They can come in and do spot checks for 20 or 30 minutes or something (or just assume all is well for the couple hours I sleep anyway!), but this isn't going to work. :snooty:

It does seem, somehow, counterproductive, doesn't it?? :confused3

Janet - your new siggy looks neat!

Marci - What is it about sports parents??? They can be so nasty. And you were right when you told Jake that the children who observe that horrible behavior will mimic it. That is how the parents of todya got to be so nasty in the first place, probably! Hope the rest of the games go a little better!

Elizabeth - I thought the same thing too about the bags. What about those that are grandfathered? I'll have to start watching the wait times on MCO's website for a while now... I'm not sure (though I haven't really tried yet!) to pack everything in one bag!

Marci, I'm sorry that the other team had such poorly behaved parents. Most sports around have begun instituting penalties for a team if the parents misbehave. It appears to work as we haven't seen any parents behaving badly. Of course we've lost badly so the other teams didn't need to get mad;)

We are leaving shortly. Speech, Colby school, Nick field trip and then concert. It is stacking up to be a busy day. The sun is hining now, they are predicting rain this afternoon which is when we'll be outside on the field trip. I'm packing my rain suit just in case.

Have a great day.

Jennifer I hope you are reporting from home when I get to read again.

Thanks Elin!

If it wasn't for this silly 1 piece of luggage per person, I would be able to decorate our room for Christmas :sad2:

I did read this on another thread & this was the link posted:

http://www.dot.gov/affairs/aviation080516/baggagefeenotice.htm

Some are saying that if you booked your flights before DOT posted this on May 13th, that you can still take 2 pieces of luggage. Not sure if this is true or not, but it would make me happy!

Here is the link to the thread as well:

Have a great day Deb, hope the rain stays away!

Well I need to get moving myself. Elizabeth I feel your dread, I have a dentist appointment as well & then I am off to work.

Have a great day all!

Since we booked in January, supposedly we are grandfathered in on the two bag rule. I'm still going to try packing one each (which I think is doable) but it's nice to know that the "second bag" is still allowed in case we need it. And I'm paranoid - I call CO at least once a month making sure that I'm reading the rules correctly based on their website print out. 99% of the time I get a "yes" and the 1% that tells me no I have them check with a supervisor - and I get a "yes" from them. :rolleyes1 I'm crazy, I know.

You SHOULD be proud!! She was right on, looked beautiful, and not at all frightened! I'd say she was quite the little leader on stage, even! :goodvibes

Tammi, Alyssa's performance was wonderful and so mature! Our recital consisted of 3, 4, and 5-year-olds, so it wasn't nearly as sophisticated. ;)

I hope Alyssa does just as well at the real performance! :goodvibes

Tammi,
Alyssa did great. She looks very confident on the stage & the costume is lovely.

Wow -- I see lots of lessons and recitals in your future -- she looks like a natural. :goodvibes
Thanks everyone.

Jennifer - I hope you are released soon!

Amy - the kids are soooo cute!

Janet - Yay for the credit. Great new sig. :thumbsup2

Kyle shares Chris' (and Jim's) sentiments! He went so far as to say he didn't want to share the month with them! :rotfl:

well on that one he might not have any choice:confused3
I think Jim was mainly miffed that he might not get a birthday cake all his own anymore...good thing my friend changed that for him:rolleyes1

What a relief!

It does seem, somehow, counterproductive, doesn't it?? :confused3

::yes:: Especially had they wanted me to do this a couple more days and then deliver. I'm thinking that would have been horrendous, and they would have HAD to let me get some sleep before having to take care of two preterm infants! :faint:

We have the same situation with the "sports parents". Seems like alot of them live through their kids. Maybe they couldn't do all these sports as kids so they put all their hopes & expectations on their kids.

I am not a "good" sports fan I guess...I have Daniel in baseball, he loves it. I couldn't care less if he hits the ball or not as long as he has fun. He does try hard to play well but I am not bothered if he does not hit a grand slam like some of the other parents. Some of parents from my sons team have even dropped the F bomb to their child when he did not perform to the parents satisfaction. I am not very competative (which I guess can be good & bad) but when Dan messes up, I say "good try buddy" & thats it...I am really tired of having moms & dads yelling at their kids at these games. Not fun!

Good morning all!!

It's a beautiful week here...today starts the high school graduations in our stadium.

Cassidy knows one of her final grades for the semester and she received a solid B in that class....with that upping she should be at a solid 3.2 for the semester. I am not sure when her GPA is going to completely recover from the F last year but we'll see.

Abi has awards ceremony this morning...she was ticked because she had to dress up even if she wasn't receiving an award. She isn't a "favorite" student so she isn't getting an award. :rotfl2:

Well, I make this post from the hospital! :sad2: The good news is, my cervix is actually holding up, or at least holding steady. Still closed, which is great (and surprising to us all!). The bad news for the day was that Baby A's fluid went from "low normal" to just "low"... and pretty low at that. The current plan is a lot of fluids overnight (1L bolus just completed, and is beeping incessantly in my ear, plus 150/hr all night), then repeat the scan at the peri's office (connected to the hospital) tomorrow morning. If the level went up, then I'll go home tomorrow and we'll recheck it again at the end of the week. If it stays up, we're back on track to have BPP's and appointments every week until further notice. If it doesn't go up, or doesn't stay up, then they will consider steroid boosters and a fairly quick delivery. We'll see! I know this isn't a very nice birthday present for Kyle. Instead of the nice dinner and fun evening we had planned, we sat around at the office all afternoon, didn't eat for hours, then had Wendy's in the hospital room -- and not a good room at that, a triage room since I'm just short stay at this point. It might be a long night... 2 heartbeats and a monitor in my right ear, and IV pump in my left, a nurse that comes in continuously because Baby A is so low the monitor won't pick her up at all the second she moves any...... but hopefully it's just one night!

Oh, I hope everything went well overnight, and that you get to go home today! :wizard: :wizard:

Oh my good golly!! Those are two of the most precious kiddos I have ever seen!!:lovestruc :lovestruc

Ditto!

That's very sweet of you to offer, but we have to be at DFW at 4:30 AM on August 1. :scared: I can't remember now if I priced a shuttle for the whole trip or if I just priced it when I thought DH was only coming for half of the days. I should look at that again.

Even with the 4:30 a.m. time, I wouldn't be able to do it, as I have to be in Austin for a family friend's wedding that weekend (have to be down there the day prior). So sorry! Definitely let me know if I can help you guys out another time, though.

Is this rain gonna end?? :confused3 It has rained every day since Thursday.

I basically keep coming home and climbing right into my PJ's. I have no motivation. I would like to just stay home for a few days and relax. Although I have tons I could do just at home to clean.

I would like to go outside for a walk/jog but I will just end up soggy and wet and need to be wrung out again.

I need to work on figuring out trip details.

I am contemplating signing up for the half marathon in March. I have wanted to do a half/marathon at Disney for many years. I first heard about the marathon at Disney when I was on a trip during marathon weekend many years ago. I thought it would to be neat to do one day. In college I wanted to do it but never did.

I always miss the sign ups so I never have done one. But running a marathon is on my list of things to do. So doing the half would be a good start. I would love to do the Expedition Everest Challenge but I am not allowed to take time off in September.

So I have to think about it and decide really soon. So it does not sell out again.

I really need something to motivate me to eat healthy and exercise again.

Becky - I think you need that vacation! I hope you start feeling better, and good luck with your marathon decision! :wizard:

I just got a phone call from Alan. He was covering a high school baseball tournament, safely by one of the dugouts, and ended up getting hit in the ankle by a foul ball. His ankle has swollen and is black and blue. He's waiting for a replacement photographer to come so he can go to the hospital and have it checked out. Any spare pixie dust you've got would be welcome! I just don't have the energy for a housebound husband these days! That would drive both of us crazy!

Ugh - I'm glad to hear it's not broken, though. I hope he feels better today!

I just talked to Molly's coaches wife. She is a friend of mine, I've known her since Emma was 3. Anyway, she was also involved in the soccer debacle. She read me the official complaint against her and Eric. The 16 year old coach stated that the coaches of the opposing team treated their players like dogs. The only way they could get the kids attention was to blow a whistle which she equated with trained dogs. :headache: Do any of you really think that any parent would continually allow Eric, the coach and her treat their kid like a dog week in and week out? She feels that whistles are not acceptable on the field. Crazy.

From what I got out of my girlfriend the other coach's mother does not like my friend. So this is her way of getting back at her. If so than it's a really pathetic way to go about it. Hopefully the President of the organization is able to weed through all the nonsense.

That is just crazy, Robyn! Whistles are used in just about every sport, all the way up to professional levels - since when does that turn children into animals? I certainly hope the President sees this for the bogus complaint it is. That 16-yr. old should be ashamed.

Hi everyone. Well, Alyssa did it, and I am surprised. She got on stage and did her recital. It was only dress rehearsal, but they all did well. Please pardon me while I have a proud mommy moment. If you are interested, here is the dance.

She did wonderfully, Tammi! She has such control and good form for her age! She should definitely stick with ballet! :thumbsup2

Glynis- Do you or anyone else have hotel recommendations within walking distance of Disneyland. I know there are lots. The one that keeps sticking out in my mind is Candy Cane Inn.

Also I will have to return as It's a Small World is going to be closed for refurbishment.

Becky, the CCI was where I had us booked originally when we went to DL a couple of years ago. I heard really great things about it, plus at the time they had free parking and a free continental breakfast. I'd look into it again if/when we go back to DL if I wasn't going to stay onsite. The Howard Johnson also gets good reviews from MouseSavers.

I still don't have any weekend pictures uploaded, since I napped when the kids were napping on Monday, and I had my OB appointment yesterday during naptime (nothing to report except Noah had the hiccups :goodvibes ).

Kevin was goofing around with a little "movie" footage we took on our Canon at the zoo a couple weeks back. Alyssa is dancing at the Miss Lori concert (Miss Lori is a PBS kids' host from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.).

Precious video, Amy! :goodvibes

Did you all see that resort airline check-in will now only accept ONE checked bag from each passenger? :headache: Guess that means we'll be checking in at the airport!

Why?! Is it because of the new charging for 2 bags thing?

Good grief, I absolutely despise the airlines. I so wish there was a better way to get around this country.

We had crazy drama at Jake's baseball game last night. One of the best players on the opposing team was thrown out of the game in the first inning for intentionally mowing down our catcher. He threw a football block on him and snapped his head back. Thankfully, the catcher was okay. The game went downhill from there, and by the last inning, the parents on the opposing team were heckling our players. Unfortunately, the other team did win.

Jake told me on the way home that the kids on the other team acted better than their parents. And he was correct! I told him that those kids are watching their parents' behavior and will unfortunately mimic it one day.

We just have swimming lessons and errands today. Happy Wednesday everyone!

I'm sorry to hear you guys didn't have a pleasant night, either. I'm thinking there should be anger management professionals (along with free doses of Prozac!) offered at all of these sporting events you guys are having to put up with!

I just checked my bank account & the fraudulent charge has been put back into my account :cool1:

Now I am just waiting for a new card :thumbsup2

Great news!
