DDA Chapter 7

I'm glad it's not broken. Hopefully the 45 minutes will go quickly for him. I somehow doubt it though! :(

Alan update:

He just called from the hospital. The doctor looked at the x-rays and there is no break. However, the ball hit the ankle bone directly, and left a deep bruise on the tendons surrounding the bone. They are fitting him in an ankle brace and sending him home. The doctor said it will be extremely painful for several days. Oh, and they can't give him any pain meds, since he has to drive 45 minutes home.

He is going to stay home from work tomorrow, but doesn't think he'll take any more time off than that. I can deal with that!

I hope they give him pain meds to take once he gets home. You may need some too if he is as much of a baby as most men are ;)

That sounds pathetic. I can't even believe that the complaint is being listened to. :wizard: :wizard:

She did awesome. She didn't look scared at all and remembered everything. Way to go Alyssa.

love it when somebody says exactly what I was going to say so DITTO!!:goodvibes

Hi everyone. Well, Alyssa did it, and I am surprised. She got on stage and did her recital. It was only dress rehearsal, but they all did well. Please pardon me while I have a proud mommy moment. If you are interested, here is the dance.

Perfect!! :goodvibes you have every right to have your proud Mommy moment... she knew what she was doing and looked elegant.

I hope they give him pain meds to take once he gets home. You may need some too if he is as much of a baby as most men are ;)

Undoubtedly! I think, though, that he will probably sleep on the couch. I'm a bit of a "mover" during the night (especially now), and he won't want the risk of me hurting his ankle.

Thanks, Elin.

Well, I think I'll head to bed. I always intend to have 'lights out' before 10, but it never happens. Wonder why. :confused3:

Deb great pics, glad your headache is better

Elizabeth congrts to DS on the test scores. Only 6 more days.:wizard:

Robyn :wizard: for the coaching situation.

Glynis glad to hear Alan's Ankle is not broken.

Tammi Alyssa did well

Robyn - I loved the new pictures of the girls. Now, if the soccer "hearing" will turn out as well... What a ridiculous set of circumstances!

Deb - I loved all your pictures of the boys too. I was glad your headache finally went away!

Becky - I hope your life eases up a bit so you can fine some "you" time. It sounds like you could use some.

Elizabeth - DS did well on his tests! I hope his grades aren't as bad as you think they might be.

Glynis - I hope Alan's ankle is OK!

Glynis glad to hear Alan's ankle is not broken. Hope he will not be in much pain :wizard: I agree with Deb about having pain meds to take at home!

The Dis is so slow it is driving me crazy. Guess I'll watch some TV and head to bed. Night all.

Well, it's bedtime for me. I'll talk with you all in the morning! Thanks for all your good wishes for Alan!

Well, I make this post from the hospital! :sad2: The good news is, my cervix is actually holding up, or at least holding steady. Still closed, which is great (and surprising to us all!). The bad news for the day was that Baby A's fluid went from "low normal" to just "low"... and pretty low at that. The current plan is a lot of fluids overnight (1L bolus just completed, and is beeping incessantly in my ear, plus 150/hr all night), then repeat the scan at the peri's office (connected to the hospital) tomorrow morning. If the level went up, then I'll go home tomorrow and we'll recheck it again at the end of the week. If it stays up, we're back on track to have BPP's and appointments every week until further notice. If it doesn't go up, or doesn't stay up, then they will consider steroid boosters and a fairly quick delivery. We'll see! I know this isn't a very nice birthday present for Kyle. Instead of the nice dinner and fun evening we had planned, we sat around at the office all afternoon, didn't eat for hours, then had Wendy's in the hospital room -- and not a good room at that, a triage room since I'm just short stay at this point. It might be a long night... 2 heartbeats and a monitor in my right ear, and IV pump in my left, a nurse that comes in continuously because Baby A is so low the monitor won't pick her up at all the second she moves any...... but hopefully it's just one night!

Prayers & pixiedust: that things improve in the morning and you can go home again.

Is this rain gonna end?? :confused3 It has rained every day since Thursday.

I basically keep coming home and climbing right into my PJ's. I have no motivation. I would like to just stay home for a few days and relax. Although I have tons I could do just at home to clean.

I would like to go outside for a walk/jog but I will just end up soggy and wet and need to be wrung out again.

I need to work on figuring out trip details.

I am contemplating signing up for the half marathon in March. I have wanted to do a half/marathon at Disney for many years. I first heard about the marathon at Disney when I was on a trip during marathon weekend many years ago. I thought it would to be neat to do one day. In college I wanted to do it but never did.

I always miss the sign ups so I never have done one. But running a marathon is on my list of things to do. So doing the half would be a good start. I would love to do the Expedition Everest Challenge but I am not allowed to take time off in September.

So I have to think about it and decide really soon. So it does not sell out again.

I really need something to motivate me to eat healthy and exercise again.

This would be great! I'd love to have someone else I know running it and preparing for it. Someone to share stories with. Plus, I'd get to meet another DDA that I haven't met yet. That will be two new in-person meets with you & Jennifer.

Chuck thinks he will do the 5K with me on Saturday. He is going to train for that. I'm excited about that. He really isn't into running but says if he likes it, he'll even consider the 1/2 with me. I'm not expecting that but I'm really glad that he is going to work toward the 5K with me.

Vicki, congrats for signing up for the marathon! I don't think I could walk it let alone run it!

Jennifer hang in there! Not much more time left! Hope that you can come home and sleep in your own bed while the girls have time to grow just a little more!

Robyn, thanks for posting pictures of the girls. Although I know that Leighanna would like to see some pictures of Emma too! She misses her Baltimore friends! Molly and Lucy are getting so big! I almost didn't recognize MO!

Elizabeth congratulations to your DS and his awesome test scores! You might need to brush up on your advanced math skills to help him out next year!;)

Becky, sounds like you need a rest! Take it easy when you can!

Glynis, glad to read that Alan's ankle is not broken! Poor guy!

Tammi, You have every right to have a proud Mommy moment. Alyssa did great! I wish I could have enrolled Leighanna in dance, but the nights for dance clashed with our work schedules.

Deb glad you were able to enjoy the concert, great pictures! All these kiddos are growing up too fast!

I had to work an unscheduled night last night, and was able to get home a little earlier than normal. Now, should I go to bed, or wait it out until Leighanna gets up for school? I think I might just "rest my eyes" for a little bit.:rolleyes1

Good Morning DDA!:goodvibes

Good Morning DDA

Jennifer - :wizard: Many good wishes headed your way, I hope to read that all is well when I get home later today.

Glynis - Glad Alan's ankle isn't broken

Tammi - What a beautiful ballerina

Elizabeth - Congrats on DS's test scores

Robyn - Cute pictures!

Deb - Great pictures too

I better get it in gear, have a great day everyone!

Chris told me to get him out on the 17th or I had to keep him in until the 19th. He wasn't going to share his birthday :rotfl:

Kyle shares Chris' (and Jim's) sentiments! He went so far as to say he didn't want to share the month with them! :rotfl:
