If you have any good thoughts left in you today, would you think about our dog, Button? Kristin and I just dropped her off at the vet to have some surgery done. We don't know how "bad" it is going to be, so good thoughts winging this morning would really be appreciated. Thanks. :)

you've got them!!:wizard: :wizard:

Hi, everyone! Looks like I've missed quite a bit. Would someone mind doing a reader's digest condensed version of the last little while?

Elin - good thoughts coming your way for Button!

Theresa - Happy belated birthdays to the girls! I'm sorry your/their day went downhill. I can't believe you get out next week! We go until the 30th. Half day on the 30th.

I'm paying attention to all the talk about carriers. Looks like we will be heading to Disneyland with Peanut when he/she will be 9 months old. I was thinking of investing in a sling, but I've never worn one before.

I'm babysitting my niece today and tomorrow while her mom is in state PTA meetings. She is happily watching all the Barbie movies we have, so I've got a few minutes before I need to change the laundry.

Have great days, everyone!

Elin,

Good thoughts for Button

I got a call from my Dr. He said that my thyroid medicine dosage can be lowered again. I am so happy. This weight loss thing really does affect one in so many good ways :cool1: :woohoo:

I will be away starting tomorrow till late Monday. We are going down to WV to see our good friends Bruce and Carol. I cannot wait to get some good loving from the puppies and kitties. Plus good food, drink and fun. I think Hal and Bruce will try to save the world at least one night over a bottle of good scotch!!!!

:wizard: :wizard: What happened to poor Button?

Besides her Addison's Disease, which seems to be under control with her meds, she has developed a mass on one of her nipples. It needed to be removed and she needed a teeth cleaning with a possible extraction.

The vet is concerned because of her delicate health condition and she is almost 12, so we are having as little as possible done while assuring there is a good quality of life for the time she has left. The vet was doing a single x-ray about 2 hours ago to eliminate the possibility that anything had spread into her lungs. Since we have not heard anything from Dr. Horner I have to assume the x-ray was clear.

The remainder of the surgery could take a while and we are leaving her with them through Sunday evening. That way they can keep an eye on her for any complications the first few days and we can go to Kristin's graduation with the knowledge that she is in the best hands.

Chanon - Any idea when Southwest will be releasing their dates for December?
Everyone on the Transportation Board is saying June for November and July for December. I'm also waiting - since Airtran is running $146 :headache: each way for the December trip. And that is supposedly a sale price.

:wizard: for an easier than expected procedure, and a quick recovery!

Good, I was going to ask if you needed me to do anything for her while you were away.

Thanks. I don't like Airtran's prices either. Plus, they only have 1 or 2 nonstops from here and they are at times I do not like. So I'm hoping for good prices from SWA. Although with the gas, who knows. :confused3

Stephanie and I were just talking about that. We think the days of $118. for a round trip from Baltimore is long gone

my mom's flights here ended up being $220 round trip...about the same that we paid to go down last year to FL. But she got the benefit of seeing us:rotfl: She also tried Southwest for the first time...she seems to like it. :thumbsup2

Good Morning all!!

Tia-sounds like you are off to a good start with the job:thumbsup2

Marci- I forgot to say....I love the idea of using the goose egg near the buttocks for a screen saver...it's something I would have thought of (and probably done:lmao: )

Deb-your boys are growing up to be such gentlemen!!! Glad Colby was a suitable stand in!!

Elizabeth-I am sorry the social studies grade may be a tanker:hug:

I know I have missed others but I've got to get back to pretending to work:rotfl2:

Quick question for those of you that book with DVC. Have you ever wait listed for a day that was in the middle of your stay? If so, did you book a room for that one night elsewhere & just hope for the best or did you just not book there?

Yes, and yes. I've waitlisted midweek at my 7 month window. However, I've always held a ressie at my home resort (booked at 11 months) until my waitlist came through. Then I canceled the home resort.

I'm hoping for a $99 sale fare. What frustrates me is that Airtran from PIT is offering the nonstops for $79 each way for the December trip - so I'm hoping that flights out of CAK will drop to soon. (I'd buy those but driving an hour and a half in December is not worth the sale price. I have to keep telling myself that. :headache: ) Or SW will come out with their pricing soon! That would help the prices to drop some!

I don't see SW raising their prices dramatically just yet. They are still locked in on $2.99 gas prices thanks to a long term gas contract.

I agree with what Tammie said...although I have booked the missing night as a cash reservation as well...if I had my heart set on that resort and if it was the only missing day...at least I had it

Thank you both, I am just not sure what to do. I am talking with someone that I can rent points from for the last part of our stay in Aug. I was hoping for BWV's but they are sold out. I can get OKW, but the 13th is not available. OKW does not sound that bad & this would be a surprise for the boys, but I am scared I won't get that night & then will have to move somewhere else for a night. That does not sound like fun :sad2:

How does the cash reservation work?

ETA: OKW is $285 for one night, don't think I will be doing that lol

If there's availability, DVC members get 25% off rack rate
