Well we found out today that Emma's teacher will be out until the first week of June, which happens to be the last week of school.
It is truly wreaking havoc on Emma. She is having major emotional outbursts- she spent the entire day at school today in tears over "a deceased aunt" (that's what the sub told Eric this afternoon) It infuriates me that they let her cry the whole day. My neighbor was at the school this afternoon- the 5th graders played softball against the teachers so she was there- called here and somehow I missed her call.

We are also having issues with her work, her test grades aren't as great as they were before all this. She brings home 100's after 100's on all of her tests. Today she brought home a 60. She is missing spelling words on her tests. It's not a big deal to Eric and I as we know why they aren't as good as before but she is upset with herself. I sure hope this doesn't affect her love for school.
And then there are the tummy troubles. When things are stressing her she routinely complains of a tummy ache. It's an all day every day complaint lately. I've talked to one other mom and her DD is having the same issues as is another girl.
I plan to call the school on Monday and see if Emma can get in to see the guidance counselor. We talk about it a lot but it seems that nothing Eric or I do is helping her.
