Janet, hope Gary's swelling goes down soon. :wizard:

Elizabeth, good news about your mom. :cheer2:

Ann Marie, great pictures.

Theresa, sorry Cassidy didn't make leader, but :woohoo: for link.
pixiedust: for the job application.

pixiedust: and :grouphug: for all.

It was decided tonight that I have no life:rotfl2:

I am more disappointed than Cassidy that she did not get flute section leader for next season. I so wanted to email the band director because Cassidy was a de facto SL last season and with the kid he picked (other than his) for section leader she will be again be a section leader without the recognition. :headache: I guess I am most peeved because the 2 chosen aren't neccessarily better players and one definitely is not a leader, or a marcher(heck when you watch your kid you see things happening in the whole section). I do love their program for next year though!!

She was, however, chosen to be a LINK leader for incoming freshmen next year. :yay:

 I know what you mean. We've had several incidents like that lately.

:cheer2: for LINK leader! Cassidy is a junior next year, right?

Day 3 April 22 Castaway Cay

Our first look at Castaway Cay.

The kids were not easy to wake today but we managed to get to BBB for breakfast & off the boat around 10am. The weather was mid 80's sunny & breezy.

The water was chilly at first but then it was ok. You could see your feet while in the water (can't do that here in NY!):lmao: There were little fish in the water & once Sophie saw one she flipped (as I knew she would) so around noon we headed over to get some lunch but saw they were starting the crab races. There was one more crab who needed a family so we got #8 & the kids named him Sebastian. The put the crabs in the center of a circle & the one who reaches the outside of the circle wins. Well Sebastian must have had one to many the night before, because this boy barely moved.:rotfl: The guy who hosted this event (man, I can't remember his name) He was from England & looked like a young Adam Ant. We encountered him many times during our stay & he was just full of energy & excitement. I have to remember his name because I must let DCL know how great he was.

We got lunch at Cookie's. The lines were very long but we did find a spot. The kids were starving. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, cole slaw, ribs, & cookies for dessert.

By now Dana & I really wanted to go over to Serenity Bay. Katie protested being put in the club. I can't really blame her since she was with her brother & sister. Her group was 8-12's & she didn't like being put in with her little siblings. I think she would do better in aloft (hopefully the next time we go) Well I told them we'd be back in an hour & that she could deal with it for 1 hour which turned out to be fine as she found a girl to hang with who was older too. Daniel & Sophie had a blast at Scuttle's Cove & it took 30 minutes to get them out.

I am so glad we ventured over to see it for ourselves. It was indeed quiet & lovely. the sand there is much rougher than the family beach. We sat & chatted for awhile & then took the tram back.

Daniel & Sophie were playing some games when we got there & Katie was smiling so she must have had fun.

Heading back to the ship.

We meet Captain Hook on our way back on board. He noticed that we was on Katie's shirt. That was her old Family Magic Tour shirt from 2005.

Heidi, thanks for this great recap to ditto!

Steffy- Congrats on the safe arrival of your DGD.

Bernadette- Yay for Emma's spot's clearing up. You're almost there and it will be fine.

Janet- You too, you are going to have a great time.

Anne Marie- I love the pictures and I've been trying to see if I can spot my girlfriend and her family but I didn't see them.

And lastly,
Happy Birthday Jennifer! :cake:

Happy Birthday Alyssa!
:cake:

That is so fantastic!!!!! I know you can breathe a little easier now! What's the next step?

Onoclogist on May 9, OB/GYN on May 22 for some sort of scan where they inject saline first and then look for whatever. I am glad they are being thorough, but I am wondering what it is they think they missed. DS and I will fly up there May 24. Hopefully they will schedule her surgery at her oncology visit so I can get my flights booked for that.

anne marie-the pictures are wonderful!

LOVE your pics, Anne Marie! Maybe we should think about cruising one of these days. I am sure DS would have been crotchety about going to the kids club, too. If we go on a cruise next year or after he will be 13 so he'll qualify for "teen" club (or whatever) but if we don't know anyone on the cruise he probably won't want to go to the club.

I swear I showered!!:lmao: :lmao:

Good Night All!! (I just spent the last half hour putting my resume in for a job that caught my eye:thumbsup2 )

and

GOOOD MOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRNINNNNNG DDA!!!

Hopefully Cassidy will enjoy being a LINK and not be too disappointed about not being a section leader.
GOOD LUCK with the application! :wizard:

Marci - I am glad the visitation went well. Cruising next August, huh? Maybe I should think about a land & sea package. I honestly haven't thought much about the vacation that comes after this one. I am hoping that by having our APs expire and NOT booking for '09 that Disney will send me some sort of code. ;)

I told Princess we'd go to the zoo today, but it appears to be raining! Maybe it will clear up in the next hour or 2.

Happy Friday!! :dance3:

I think we missed Lindsay! :guilty:

LINDSAY - Have a magical trip!! :wizard: :cool1:

::yes:: I think you are right, Elizabeth. :(

Maybe she decided to take her laptop with her and will check in with us while she is gone. Or maybe she decided NOT to take her laptop so she can completely relax! :goodvibes

More great photos, Anne Marie! Thanks for sharing your vacation with us.

Janet I hope Gary's swelling has gone down.

Theresa-- congrats to Cassidy on LINK. I'm sorry she didn't make leader. Good luck for the job application!

Elizabeth -- terrific news about your Mom. It sounds like they are just being very thorough, given her diagnosis. I'm sure they would have already told her if there was something they were worried about, and they would certainly do it quicker than it's scheduled if the really suspected something.

It's normally cheaper to book land/sea separate, so be sure to try that aspect if you start pricing things. The cruises are heavenly, but so pricey that I make ressies and start paying on them way in advance. You could go all out and book the 7 night for August 1, 2009... :rolleyes1

I think the rain is supposed to clear out now -- hopefully it will be a great day for the zoo!

Glynis -- how is Leslie today?

Bernadette -- How is Emma? I sure hope you have a great trip!

I better run -- I have to get off at 1 to make it home for the service.

Andrew has practice tonight, and somehow I'm in charge of hotel rooms for the Waco baseball tournament, so it looks like my clean-out is still on hold.

Have a good day everyone!

No, I do not mind at all....yes it was about $800 cheaper to book 2 cat 10's (with a connecting door) than a cat 4 family suite. I did not want the suite as I really wanted Dana & I to have a room of our own;) Our room had a queen size bed & the kids all got their own beds which they loved not having to share. They had their own bathroom & it was great. I would book 2 cat 10's again if we are lucky enough to go again.:thumbsup2
Thanks. That's good info to know....just in case......someday. :rolleyes1 ;)

Tammi, Marci, & Chanon.
I sent the photobucket pictures. Let me know if you didn't receive. I warned ya, theres alot of pictures!;)

Sooooooo Dana's company is sending him to Orlando on business January 12-16th.....Hmmmmmmmm....

I swear I showered!!:lmao: :lmao:

Good Night All!! (I just spent the last half hour putting my resume in for a job that caught my eye:thumbsup2 )

and

GOOOD MOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRNINNNNNG DDA!!!

:wizard: Good Luck:wizard:

AnneMarie you trip looks fantastically fun. I'm sure you made some wonderful memories. I'm more than a little jealous. I would love to see all of your pictures, but I'm afraid that I would look at them instead of working on my ever growing to do list. So I will be a good girl and not ask until I get some things done around here

It seems that I haven't been thinking ahead past our vacation. Between this house improvement and our trip I've had tunnel vision. It dawned on me sometime last night that it will be Nick's 13th birthday in September  Where have the years gone. Thankfully 13 isn't a big one around here. I am thinking of doing a big Barbeque in late August when the weather is still nice instead of trying to pull something off in September when there is to telling how cold it will be. A bbq will let him invite as many friends as he likes and we can set up outside games to keep them all occupied :thumbsup2

Today I need to invest a lot of time on cleaning. It seems things have slipped away again and I will take control before it gets out of control. We will need to sand again soon which means everything will have to disappear anyway so it will be a huge help anyway. Laundry is going now so I'll just move on.

Anne Marie - Captain Henry was our captain when I sailed in 2006! He's a really nice guy! Who was your cruise director?

Sooooooo Dana's company is sending him to Orlando on business January 12-16th.....Hmmmmmmmm....

Is that marathon weekend?

Marci - I definitely won't book a 7 night for our first cruise. DH isn't into the idea of cruising AT ALL, so we would start with a short one. And I would have to get passports for everyone. Hmm. Maybe I should run that past the Uncles, because I would rather cruise than go to DL, I think.
