Have fun Glynis!

Try to keep the chatting to a bare minimum tonight (just kidding). I've got to run to book club and won't be back until late. Hopefully, I'll come home to more of Anne Marie's report! And perhaps some baby pictures, Gramma Stephanie?????

After the safety drill we headed to Deck 9 for the sail away party.

Believe it or not, I did not realize we were moving until we came down to the lobby for pictures (just before dinner). I looked out the large porthole & saw the water moving by. It was so wierd & cool at the same time.

Our dinner (we had early seating of 5:30pm) was in Triton's for the 1st night.

We were very lucky to have a table all to ourselves.
WDWAPRIL2008089.jpg

Daniel & I ordered Mickey bars for dessert. The girls were stuffed so wanted nothing for dessert so thats what they got!
WDWAPRIL2008091.jpg

We put the kids in the club so Dana & I could check out the adult areas of the ship. Katie was not pleased as she felt the club was too babyish for her. We left them in good hands (all the counselors were very nice) & walked over the the quiet cove. We popped into the theater. They had a magician that night so we watched for a few minutes & then went back up on deck to walk around some more. It was late so we got the kids around 10pm & headed back to our room. This guy was there to greet us.
WDWAPRIL2008094.jpg

The gentle rocking of the ship makes for great sleeping. The 2 bathrooms were wonderful for 5 people trying to get ready in a hurry. Every CM we met were very "Disney" & welcoming. So far our first day was perfect.

Loving it so far, Anne Marie! The kids look so happy, and I love the one of you with the kids! You have an extremely beautiful family!
Thank you.

anne marie-the pictures are wonderful!
Thanks!

Great pictures Anne Marie, keep them coming!

Those desserts look so good :thumbsup2
Thanks, & they were!

My "Rabbit, rabbit" wish came true! :dance3:
My mom just called and said her biopsies from last week are benign! She has to go back to the OB/GYN for some additional tests on May 22, but she has managed to clear one more hurdle! :thumbsup2
Wonderful news!

Day 2 April 21 Nassau Bahamas

We got up bright & early. Ate breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet. The food was good & so was the coffee...nice & strong. We ate inside as it was rather windy. The gameplan was to go into Nassau, see the pirate museum & get back on the ship for lunch.
While we watched the ship dock, the kids found some friends to play soccer with on deck 10. They played for almost an hour.

The pirate museum was just ok for us. We were there for little less than an hour.

Back to the ship for lunch. Dana had to buy a Bob Marley shirt before we left though..wasn't he from Jamaica??? Katie got a Nassau shirt with her allowance $. Once in Nassau was enough for me..I wanted to get back on board & be spoiled some more.

Great News! I'll have to give Rabbit, rabbit a try.

We grabbed some lunch by the Mickey pool. This was my kids favorite part of the cruise. Since most folks were out at Nassau the pool was not terribly crowded.

Anne Marie - your TR and pictures were worth the wait! Love the one of the 5 of you with Goofy. How did having 2 rooms work out? Were the kids in one room by themselves? Did that worry you?

After having 80 degree weather on Tuesday, we are working really hard to hit 50 degrees today! I'm even seeing snow fall outside my window! Ick!!!

Marci - I'm so sorry for your loss!

Stephanie - Congrats on the newprincess: . I can't wait to see pictures.

Elizabeth - tell DS I hope he enjoys his braces gone! What an accomplishment!

Deb - Alan and I usually go out to eat once a week, and we haven't seen any slowdown where we go. Of course, we don't go high end! We're more the Bajio, Cafe Rio, Sizzler, sort!

My restaurant is not really high end. Our meals run from all you can eat salad bar for $9.95 (we have a large soup and salad bar with a bread and cheese station) to our Prime Rib dinner for $22.95. Our Prime Rib is huge, like 32 oz huge. All of our entrees come with the salad bar. Our prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. We are much more of a steak and seafood joint then at high end restaurant.

I called the pediatrician today and they said the lyme test will take 7 days but I could try to call on Saturday. Looks like I'll be traveling with the antibiotic. I called Disney today to add a fridge to the room request. I'm hoping Emma does OK in the sun with the antibiotic. I already had a RayShade-extra large shade for the stroller and was wondering if I really needed it. That will be coming with us now!

I'm starting to feel stressed. I am usually all packed by now. I know I'll be fine and VERY fine by the time I get on the plane.

I hope that you can stop the antibiotic early in your trip and she can avoid any sun side effects.

My "Rabbit, rabbit" wish came true! :dance3:

That is wonderful news :cool1: :cool1:

I've read everything, but must admit that I'm watching TV at the same time.

New babies, awesome trip reports, Birthdays and good news for the most part. I guess overall it's been a pretty good day. :wizard: for those that may have had a less than stellar day.

We left the pool around 3pm. I got a nice coffee & we went to get dressed for dinner. Our dining rotation was TAAP so tonight was Animators Palate. This was by far our favorite restaurant. The food was great & the show was alot of fun. This was also dress up night.

The show tonight was Toy Story. It was very good & the performer who played Woody had a very nice voice. The show was very entertaining. It was then we met our cruise director Peter who was good at getting the crowd excited for the show.

WDWAPRIL2008171.jpg

After the show we headed to bed.

I forgot to add that on day 1 there was a mini DIS meet in the promenade lounge. We met up with 3 other DISers who were all repeat cruisers. It was great to meet them.

Ok, I am going to bed before I pass out. I'll have more tomorrow.

Night, night!

Today was my busy day. I had promised to help my Dad paint their living room ceiling while Colby was at school. That was no easy task as they have a tile ceiling and we had to paint the cracks between each tile with a brush before we could roll it. Anyway we finished up around 2:30 PM and Mom was home with Colby by then. I cleaned up a bit then headed home to get the other boys off the bus. I had put a pot roast in the crock pot this morning using the recipe that Glynis post long ago. I grabbe a tub of mashed potatoes, the pot roast, the boys and their Lacrosse equipment and we headed back to my parents. By then my Mom was heavily cleaning the woodwork. We finally decided to just bite the bullet and paint the walls too. And that we did. The pot roast was delicious although we would have like it to be a thicker gravy instead we had more of a broth. All in all we decided it was a keeper and it will be one of the meals we make at WDW :thumbsup2 We finished painting and clean up around 8 PM. Chris took the older two to Lacrosse and came home all excited and proclaimed himself a good coach  The best part is that the painting is all done and I won't need to devote another day to it :thumbsup2

We are trying one new croc pot recipe each week to see if they are WDW worthy :lmao:

I also determined that things really do seem to happen for a reason. Since I only had 2 shifts this week I was able to get their living room done. I also saw a coworker today and she asked me to take her shift tomorrow night. I really hope that it is a big money maker :thumbsup2

Thanks so much Tammi,

2 rooms was fantastic!!!! I think much better for us than a cat 4 family suite.
The 2 bathrooms were awesome for getting ready. We had 2 pottys, 2 showers & 4 sinks so everything went very smoothly getting ready for dinner. If we had 1 bathroom it would have gotten ugly.:lmao: We had connecting cat 10's & we had the door held open the whole time so the kids were right next to us.

Elizabeth - the news for your Mom is wonderful

Bernadette - you will get everything done. Also, I am glad you got your refrigerator request in . I bet Emma will be fine in the sun wth your stroller shade.

Janet - I hope you continue to feel better and Gary's facial swelling goes down.

Anne Marie - I love all your photos. You all look so very relaxed and gorgeous!

Good night, DDA! Sleep tight!

who all's kids have ipods?

Mine do -- Nanos. They use them all of the time, even more than I use mine.

Fabulous news!

Anne Marie -- the pictures are awesome! I'm having DCL withdrawl in a big kind of way, so it's nice to see your pics. We are skipping this summer and won't go again until August 1, 2009.

The visitation went well tonight. There were tons of people, so we were glad we went early. The line was almost out the door of the Church when we left. It's good to see the community respond when one of their long-time residents is involved.

Night everyone. :)
