DDA Chapter 6

Morning, all. It was for CRT and supposedly has been reversed so I'll see a credit. They actually charged the wrong amount too (too little), so that's why I couldn't figure it out. 18 days to go!

I'm glad it was easily fixed!

Well, I am home now. I was at work for all of an hour before the school nurse called. Alyssa was in her office crying with pain, saying her ear hurt. I'm such a bad mom, I told her to give her some Motrin and send her back to class, that I would take her to the clinic in the evening. Who knew the school nurse couldn't medicate with pain reliever, even with a parent's permission???? So I went and got her and took her to the doctor. We are now home having lunch and will go pick up her prescription in a little while. They gave her some Motrin at the drs. office so she is feeling much better.

Poor Alyssa! I hope she continues to feel well!

Hi!!

Spent the morning cleaning & now I am running to have lunch with some friends.

Have a great day!:goodvibes

Ack! Look at my ticker!!!! :upsidedow

:cool1:

I am glad Alyssa finally got some meds in her! The procedures/forms for medicine is enough to drive you crazy.

Can someone point me in the direction of finding this review please?

Also, I want to make Strawberry Pretzel Salad. Does anyone have a recipe WITHOUT pineapple in it?? I can't seem to find one without pineapple - so maybe it's always had it and I've never known about it?? :confused3

Here is my grandmothers, no pineapple!

2 cups crushed pretzels
3/4 cup margarine, melted
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
6 oz. box strawberry jell-0
3 tsp sugar
1 cup sugar
1 large container of Cool Whip
20 oz. frozen strawberries

Mixed pretzels, margarine and the 3 tsp of sugar together. Press into 9 x 13 dish sprayed with Pam. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes. Mix Jell-o as directed, refrigerate and let thicken for a while. Blend cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar, fold in Cool Whip. Pour over pretzel layer. Add 20 oz frozen strawberries to thickened Jell-o. Pour over creamy layer and chill. You can also just add the Jell-o and then top with the strawberries.

Hmm, maybe I'll make this for Mo's party. I always forget about it.

I'm glad he's better. PD for the game.

And yes, we feel very blessed that Randy has found a job and both boys are getting more confidence in baseball.

You are exactly right in that -- tonight we only have the one game, so I hope they do get to play. It's on nights that we have conflicts with the same child in different sports that I often hope they are cancelled. :rolleyes1

We've had good experiences with the food at LeCellier, but I think the tables are too close together, the service can be spotty, and the portions have grown smaller. Still, the quality of the food I've gotten there has outweighed the things I see as drawbacks.

Well I hope that the rain stays away enough for you all to play tonight! :wizard:

Thank you so much for getting back with me! I remembered your outcome being pretty good, but I know there was a lot of debate before hand whether or not to do it. I appreciate the vote of confidence.... we are going to go ahead and go, mostly for the reasons you mentioned -- just the experience of really getting to see and watch the girls, instead of flying through various body parts that you can't identifiy unless you're a nurse, doctor or sonographer. Thanks again!

No problem. :goodvibes You'll have such a great time and so will Cassi.

Thank you! The one I have calls for more butter, less sugar and pineapple. Bob loves this so I'd thought I'd suprise him with it this weekend. I'm attempting to make at least one "new" recipe a week to get away from our normal dinner routines. I also copied a lot of Impossible Pie recipes from a 1982 ( :scared1: ) Bisquick Cookbook! Brownie, Queisadilla, Zucchini-Tomato, and a Brunch (greens, tomato and cottage cheese). And I found a recipe for "Perogi Casserole" which sounds delish! I'm currently looking at the "Joy of Jell-0 Molds" from 1998. We'll see how that turns out!

PS: Don't forget about the Seven Layer Salad too! That's another "pot luck" favorite and might go over good at the party.

Well, many of my beloved cookbooks date from the early 70s!! :goodvibes

Time for work... I will check in tonight. Hope everyone who is feeling badly feels better soon. And those of you who are feeling great... KEEP IT THAT WAY! :)

We love the coconut impossible pie!

Our dinner routines are just the same old same old here too. I always say I am going to do something different but then life just sort of gets in the way.

Glad you figured out what it was for! I hope your credit shows up soon!

Yikes! Not your week for healthy kids, is it? I hope Alyssa feels better tomorrow! Not only will DS's school not give meds unless they are prescription, if he is carrying OTC meds he can be suspended for drug infractions.:sad2: That's why I would never agree to an ADD med where he would have to have a dose at lunch time - to much drama.

I usually have the mushroom filet when we go to Le Cellier in the evening, but prefer the one they used to serve for their lunch menu. Bob looked at the menu and said it looked OK to him. But I am seriously thinking about R&C our last day for lunch instead. We have plenty of time to think about it, I think!

We had a fabulous meal at Yachtsman on Christmas Eve 2006 and cannot wait to go back. Bob & Kevin's review has made me really excited to see the differences now too!

I sort of floated the idea of Yachtsman out there to DH last night. Or maybe I didn't. Maybe I just said I was thinking of NOT doing Le Cellier. DS wanted to go back to Teppan Edo, but anything that expensive where DH leaves hungry really isn't a good thing. I need to talk to DH about Yachtsman and then change the ADR.

Can someone point me in the direction of finding this review please?

All of the reviews written by Mister Disney and Mr. D's K-Man are Bob and Kevin. The reviews are all on the restaurant review forum. :)

Still no word from my mom. :rolleyes1 Her bone scan was supposed to be at 9:15 AM. I guess it takes awhile to put the dye in and let it get where it needs to go. Then she had to do the C, too, so maybe it is just taking a long time to get her in and out.

I almost forgot, Lucy's 1st tooth finally broke through her gum this morning! I guess that is why she was up at 4am screaming.

Poor baby! Alyssa's 6 yr. molars are working their way in. Hhhmmmm.....maybe that's part of the problem.

Thanks, Elin. She loved it!

Oh no! I hope she feels better soon. BTW -- I would have asked the same thing of the nurse at the school where the boys go. That would have given me time to get a doctor appt., get the more immediate work done/gather what I need to work on at home, then pick up/go to the doctor. From the symptoms, you knew it was Motrin that would do the most immediate good, followed by the antibiotic.
That was exactly my thought process. I was 5 minutes away from a 9:30 meeting that I had when I got the phone call. If they could have given her something for the pain, I could have gone to my meeting, which would have lasted an hour and then I would have gone to get her. Instead, I ended up canceling it with 5 minutes notice. Oy.

My mom is finished with her tests but they didn't tell her anything. In fact, they didn't even tell her when she will have the results!:headache: She "forgot" to ask how long it will be before she will hear something. That would have been my FIRST question! She said she needed to call the oncologist "anyway", but she didn't tell me WHY she needed to call him. :sad2:

Robyn the strawberry pretzel salad sounds good! :cool1: on Lucy's 1st tooth!

Bernadette your book sounds wonderful!
I got up this morning and printed it again on a glossy greeting card stock and it looked great! I dropped it off at Staples and they said it would be ready tonight BUT then I showed a coworker the other copy and she found a mistake in it so I called Staples and asked them not to do it until I brought in a new cover.

Ack! Look at my ticker!!!! :upsidedow
Happy single digits!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Poor Alyssa! Hope the meds kick in quick!

Tia and Bernadette - Have either of you heard about this company in Boston?

http://www.boston-bnbagency.com/

They are a B&B and furnished apartment realty company who I found on the Boston and Massachusetts Tourism sites. They have some very nice properties available in Beacon Hill and Copley Square and Back Bay areas that would be perect for a 10 day stay! I can't find out anything "bad" about them so that is encouraging!
Sorry no but it does look great!

Sorry you'll miss it. I did not get the email but I am planning on going. Does the email say if you can bring a guest? I looked at the passholder site and it says just to show your pass.
