DDA Chapter 5

Tammi - glad to hear you were able to "deal" with your X, when I hear stories like this I am really glad that my X turned into an absentee. He knows he has a grandson, but has never made any effort to see him, but he hasn't seen his 27 year old daughter since she was 3.

Tia - I absolutely LOVE the first picture you posted of Terra, she is sooo cute.

Deb - Sounds like you're off to a good start, an added bonus is painting is a good way to burn off calories. Yeah for Colby!

Robyn - Yeah for Molly, my youngest would scream like we were trying to kill here when we tried to take her to the potty. I love the Candyland party supplies.

Elizabeth - Good Luck with the number crunching, I got the reservation confirmation from the guy we rented the points from yesterday so we are pretty much set in stone for that one. We would both like to sneek in a short trip this August, but that is a big IF, especially since our AC is acting up AGAIN!

Robyn and Janet - I like the new signature pictures!

They are both neat. I also like your new one, Kristine.

Thank you all for the comments & prayers about Olivia. I do have good news! The Dr's say they cannot find anything wrong with her & her kidneys are functioning just fine :cool1:

She is a fighter! Now I am really looking forward to my May trip so I can do some shopping

That is wonderful news. Thanks for the pic!

It's been a busy couple of days around here and I'm afraid things are about to get busier. I finally submitted our application for refinancing our mortgage. I also found out that we really need to get the rennovations moving as our mortgage officer would like it done before they do an appraisal  That means basically making crack repairs, painting all the ceilings and walls then installing the flooring. Not something that I'm looking forward to. Chris is actively Truck shopping. Mind you he knows exactly what he wants. I think he will probably end up ordering exactly what he wants, but it will take about 8 weeks from the order date. We need to get the mortgage in place first and he wants the truck for our trip which means that timing will be very tight.

Good luck on all the projects!

We had a busy day. The day was just crazy, it seemed everyone was in a foul mood (with the exception of Lucy, of course) and very little or no naps on top of the bad moods. I had to scramble to get the girls picked up from school, their normal ride home called me about an hour before school saying he wasn't going to be able to pick them up. Thankfully Gail was home and ran up for me. The thought of dragging 5 cranky kids to school was pretty :scared1: After all the daycare kiddos left we went to dinner with my mom, sister and niece for Molly's school. I then dropped Eric and the girls off so the Easter Bunny could shop. My mom and I hit Target, Toys R Us and Payless. I dropped my mom off and made one last stop to the grocery store before I headed home.

The big news here is that Molly has used the potty all day. I put her on it this morning and this afternoon and evening she told us she had to go and did. She goes very little so it's only been 3 times but she has managed to stay dry all day. I feel like we are finally moving forward. It has been something that is just seemed unreachable.

Have a great night all. Catch in the am!!

Congrats to Molly and to Colby!

I just read about the re-opening of Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD. Did they serve breakfast before? There menu has expanded & looks pretty good. They also have added more indoor seating. I will have to go here again in May or August. If on the DP, it looks like a very good use of a CS credit!

We've eaten at the one in South Lake Tahoe a lot. The waffles are very good, as is the french toast. (That's the one time I let myself carb load -- when skiing...) I also like their salads and soup.

Could I please ask for some spare pd to be thrown my way. I am meeting with xh in about half an hour and trying to work something out. It's over something important to me and I'm very nervous about it. TIA.

I just read this worked out. You are one smart woman -- he should know not to mess with you... I like how you helped him "see the light." :rotfl:

Karen -- I agree with the comments on the dresses. You'll see dress all across the board every night. We found that our cruises on Royal Caribbean were dressier than the Disney ones, but I still think the first two dresses are a little much. I would find something that is comfortable and makes you feel great. Happy planning!

Glynis -- I'd love to have the corned beef recipe. Is it on the WFD thread? I haven't had time to catch up there yet.

Kristine -- how is Jonathan today?

It's gorgeous here today -- no more rain, thankfully. I've been working most of the day, but we did go out and walk earlier. I hope everyone is having a great day. :)

Thank you all so much! I *think* it worked. To try to make a long story short, the weekend that Nicholas makes his 1st Communion is John's weekend, unofficially. Three months ago, John agreed to switch weekends with me, since my family is coming into town, staying at our house, and I'm having a party at the house for Nicholas. Then John got hair up his butt and said that I couldn't have the kids that weekend. So....tax time rolls around. He asked if we were going to file jointly. I said "of course".;) He gives me his stuff, and I Turbotax it, not only jointly, but separately as well. So I ask him to either give me that weekend or I will file separately, claiming the kids and the house. He would have to pay $5000+ in taxes. He agreed to change weekends, and I had him put it in writing. I just hope nothing happens in the next month or so to mess it up.

Clever girl! :thumbsup2 I hope everything continues to go well! :wizard:

Becky - don't give up. You can do it!

Deb - good luck on the refi, the projects and selling the truck.

Becky, you have done a fantastic job so far, and I am sure you have what it take to reach your next goal! I have decided to drag myself back on the weight loss wagon, even though I haven't lost any weight so far.

Deb - I hope your projects all go well! :wizard:

Look what I just found!!!

BDD950.jpg

How cute is that? :goodvibes
Princess's fever was too high to be teeth. She has some sort of respiratory thing going on. They put her on Zithromax and said to start her on Zyrtec and Nasonex.
If I didn't analyze the DDP I wouldn't have anything to do! :rotfl2:

Elizabeth - Good Luck with the number crunching, I got the reservation confirmation from the guy we rented the points from yesterday so we are pretty much set in stone for that one. We would both like to sneek in a short trip this August, but that is a big IF, especially since our AC is acting up AGAIN!

But if you are at WDW you won't notice if it is hot in your house. :rolleyes1

I got an e-mail about Passholders booking DDP on their AP ressies. Odd, since they haven't released any new AP rates/dates. They must have known I was thinking about it. :rotfl: Actually all I am thinking about now is whether or not I can get an AP rate for ANY of our 16 nights. The first 3 are the club level room at rack rate, and the other 13 are with a 15% AAA discount. If the AP rate is $50 off per night we would save another $15 per night over the AAA rate. And obviously we would save $50 off the rack rate nights. IF the AP rate is available.

I don't normally do this, but I thought I would write a pre-trip report. Actually it looks more like a story lol

Here is the link if anyone wants to read(It is long)
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1759910

I know how to put the link in my Sig, but how do I get he link to say trip report or something to that effect that you can click on?

Those idiots next door are jack-hammering their concrete driveway or patio or something. :headache: Princess is asleep but I bet that won't last long. :sad2: My bosses are starting to get a little annoyed with those people, so it's not just me!

I got that email too, Elizabeth. I priced out 3 nights at Pop, May 9-12, with an AP discount and adding the dining plan. It was $400 something. Then I priced the same thing out but this time with the AP/DDP discount. That was $500 something. I don't get it.

Off to the dentist to have my crown adjusted. It has been sensitive to pressure and cold.

I'm glad that things are going well. Now maybe you can relax a bit and just enjoy being pregnant.

:rotfl: That's hysterical! ;)

No, in all honesty I am of course relieved they are growing. THEY are doing well, but I still have plenty to worry about for me, so I don't think there will any "enjoying of the pregnancy". ;) It's ok though... not much longer! If I can stay transfusion-free, and with my pelvis still intact I'll be satisfied. At least my goals are totally not lofty! I'm not picky! :rotfl:

Tammi glad to hear that all went well. :wizard: that nothing changes!

Robyn I love the Candyland Birthday supplies.

Marci the sun is out here, but it is still cold lol

That is sounding excellent! And the fact that they are so close in weight is great, too! Means that both twins are getting equal share of the nutrients, etc. If one twin was significantly heavier than the other it would be cause for concern.

Yep! That's the first thing we ask about every u/s! :goodvibes:

Just a quick pop in before I head off to bed...

Jennifer- :yay: for the babies growing!! Good job, mom!

Janet- So wonderful to hear the great updates on Olivia. :wizard:

Kristine- Glad to hear Jonathan is feeling up to company!

Lindsay- Good to see you posting! We've missed you around here.

Karen- Those dresses are gorgeous!

Deb- Good luck getting all those tasks accomplished before your trip. If anyone can do it, you can.

Hooray Molly! :yay:

Janet, you're preTR sounds fabulous. I can just feel your excitement. I'm envious!

Good morning, DDA! T minus 11 hours and counting until the arrival of the mob. The list is almost done though. All I really have to do is sweep and mop the kitchen. Mom is going to buy a new mop head this morning, though, so it should be a lot easier! Otherwise, just some grocery shopping and we're good to go. Hopefully that means I can get Terra's dress made today. Oh yeah, we're also going to go feed some chickens. "Kassie" is animal-sitting for friends at church and has to feed the cats and chickens several times this week. Well, she won't get near the chicken coop so it's actually Kristi doing it, which is apparently also quite funny. :rotfl: We're going to take Terra out to help today so that she can see them. The question is just how muddy will she be when we finish. Case in point....

Playing in the rain:
Wipe out #2 of 3:
In the end, Terra's whole backside and the front from knees down looked just like this. It was quite funny to watch, but she had a good time!

Oh my gosh Tia, those pictures are hysterical! The first one is especially beautiful, mud and all :goodvibes:

I just typed in some random dates to see what availability was at AKL. It gave me a standard view room - nothing else. We had a standard view in December and it was fine, but for a long trip I don't want to chance having a bad room. The room we had Aug. 2006 was AWESOME. It was a pool view room that they upgraded us to - we booked standard. For some reason I am just not feeling that brave/lucky this year! :rotfl2:
Good luck with the crown!

Janet - You are off to a good start on your pre-trip! :thumbsup2

I just saw this, and am so hopeful that all went well. You are always in my prayers!

 I hope things went well!

ETA: I'm so glad it worked out! :yay: I hope everything stays smooth sailing and you can keep the kids that weekend without any fight!

Glynis -- I'd love to have the corned beef recipe. Is it on the WFD thread? I haven't had time to catch up there yet.

It's really easy.

Place your corned beef brisket in a large saucepot and cover it with water. Add 1/2 cup chopped onion, 2 cloves garlic, minced and 2 bay leaves. Bring to a boil. Lower heat to medium, cover and let boil one hour. Drain. Cover with fresh water and bring to another boil. Let simmer 2-3 hours or until tender. Remove brisket, reserving water.

Place brisket in a shallow baking pan. Mix together 1 cup maple syrup, 1/2 cup prepared mustard and 1-2 Tbsp. horseradish. Pour half over the brisket and put in a 350 degree oven. Bake for 20 minutes, brushing periodically with the remaining glaze mixture. While brisket is baking, core and slice a head of cabbage into wedges and place in saucepan of water that you boiled the brisket in. Serve brisket with the cabbage and remaining glaze.
