Hi, Sally! Glad to see we didn't frighten you away! :rotfl2:

DH got his flash for the Sony. Brand new, factory sealed, for $60. The same exact flash the Best Buy across the street tried to sell us for $300 for the display model! So HA! BB across the street! Guess we'll be doing business with the OTHER Best Buy near Princess's house from now on! The guy in their camera dept. told us they are a different district than the one by our house, and apparently that makes a difference.

Are you bored already? The first on is of Lexi. She's alot bigger now. The rest are of Kirsta. My Disney version of the Poodle skirt, Dinner with Cinderella (we had all kinds of people tracking us down to tell us how beautiful the dress was), MNSSHP as Cinderella and we had so many people ask where I got the dress becuase thier daughter wanted one. And CM telling me it was the most origional they had seen in ages. And my favorite, and embellished Tshirt and skort.

Denise, I hope the steroids help John regain his taste! :wizard: I am glad to hear your grandmother's procedure went well! I hope she continues to feel OK! Are you going to bring her to Disney this Fall?

I am SO looking forward to toonight--i was supposed to go out for drinks with friends but its nasty and rainy out so we scratched that idea...i just picked up a chicken parm sandwich from the pizza place, got my pjs on, and i think im going to watch a movie...my workout day is tomorrow so tonight i have NOTHING planned!

Sally - Your creations are wonderful! :thumbsup2
I don't design or sew (or cook, for that matter) so I guess it is good that I have a boy!:rotfl2:

Holey Cow!!! Those are amazing!!:thumbsup2

I have a feeling if I showed Cassidy any of those she'd want one (and she's almost 16)

Denise-I am glad you are on the road to figuring out how to help John and very happy Grandma's surgery was/is considered a success!!

Hi Sally, I'm Tom. I see you on the Disboutique thread too. Glad to see you here! This is a great bunch of folks. I consider them some of my closest friends!:goodvibes
Blizzard warning for us today and tomorrow. Is it Spring yet?

I received this in my email and had to share.

Please read the story first and click on the link at the bottom and
enjoy.

The lady in her 30s was a dancer and was trained as one since she was a
little girl. Later she got into some kind of accident and lost her
entire right arm. She was depressed for a few years. It seemed that
someone asked her to coach a Children's dancing group. From that point
on, she realized she could not forget dancing. She still loved to dance.
She wanted to dance again. So she started to do some of her old
routines. But by her losing an arm, she also lost her balance. It took a
while before she could even making simple turns and spins without
falling. Eventually she got it.

Then she heard some guy in his 20s had lost a leg in an accident. This
guy also fell into the usual denial, depression and anger type of
emotional roller coaster. She looked him up (seeming ly he was from a
different Province) and persuaded him to dance with her. He had never
danced. And to dance with one leg? Are you joking with me? No way. But
she didn't give up. He reluctantly agreed. " I have nothing else to do
anyway." She started to teach him dancing 101. The two broke up a few
times because the guy had no concept of using muscle, control his body,
and a few other basic things about dancing. When she became frustrated
and lost patience with him, he would walk out. Eventually they came back
together and started training. They hired a choreographer to design
routines for them. She would fly high (held by him) with both arms (a
sleeve for an arm) flying in the air. He could bend horizontally
supported by one leg and she leaning on him, etc.

They danced beautifully and they legitimately beat others in the
competition.

I would like to share with you this most magnificent and touching
performance I have ever seen! It is living proof that strong spirit
can conquer any physical limitations!

And the rains keep coming down, down down. Areas are already flooded from the rain earlier this week and we are supposed to get a bunch more rain this weekend.

Have a great weekend.:wave2: :beach: pixiedust: :mic:

OMG Becky, that was just so awesome. I am still crying just thinking how beautiful it was. I love dancing and would do whatever it took to keep it up

My grandmother did great in surgery. She came home today after the lumpectomy. They will not do any other treatment. The surgeon feels he got it all, but if not, then this is it. Everyone is very pleased with the decision. If he got it all, then he said it would be 5 to 10 years before it came back. She's 85, so that's not really an issue.

John went to the ENT and saw the doctor (not the PA) today. He scoped his sinuses, really listened to him. He diagnosed him with Ageusia, but it's very hard to find the cause. He put him on steroids as it may be inflamed and irriatated nerve endings. If it is the cause, John should see results within 7 days. If it doesn't help, then they will have to explore other possibilities. Thanks for the prayers.

:thumbsup2 Continued prayers that the steriodsd do the trick. Glad to hear your grandmother did well in surgery.

Love them!

Sounds like many of us are in for some bad weather, we had some bad weather last night, a car dealership about 2 miles from the house was hit last night, the front of the building came off and several cars wer damaged or destroyed, and I slept right through it, :scared1: .

Stay safe everyone.

Beth glad to hear you are starting to feel better & that you were able to stay home.

:wizard: to your co-teachers father, broken kneecaps sound horrible!

Hello, DDA!

I think I'm just about back into the real world. My fever finally broke yesterday, and now I'm just left with a regular cold. I feel much better. I ended up not working on Wednesday or Thursday. I went in on Wednesday morning, and my friend sent me home. We teach a 2's class that has an adult with the child, so it wasn't a huge deal for her to be alone...just more work. There was a board/staff meeting after classes, so she told me she would make sure that they found someone to sub for me on Thursday. Apparently, it wasn't easy, but they did it. That is something that really needs to change. If you are running a 102+ temp and can barely function, you shouldn't be working with preschoolers.

Enjoy the time with Kyle & drive safely!

Boo, I had to delete about 40 smiles from the last post :rotfl:

Kyle is finally home from being on call yesterday, so I'm going to go try and figure out our plans for the evening. I'm not sure a) how early we'll have to leave to get to the rehearsal in this weather and b) how Kyle is going to manage at all after not sleeping for 2 days, and only getting an hour or two nap now

Take care, and I'll see you more this weekend! :goodvibes

Wonderful Becky, thank you for sharing :goodvibes

Denise glad to hear your grandmother did well with the surgery.

:wizard: that John has good results soon!

Sounds like a relaxing way to spend the evening ::yes::

Bernadette I just read on another thread that the carousel will be closed May 4th - 24th for rehab. Hope this will not upset Emma!

Beth, I am glad you took some time off to get better! Don't overdo now that you are finally on the mend!

I took Princess for a stroll at the mall, then she had some chicken nuggets for lunch. When we got back I had an e-mail from the eBay seller saying that I could retract my bid. So that was good, seeing how I had ALREADY done that! So I guess I take the negative hit for retracting a bid instead of him canceling it and having it not show on my record, but hopefully he won't pursue any additional action against me for it.:confused3
Whew. I'm glad that all worked out.
