So..today at lunch, my grandma said that she wants to take us (my mom, dad, brother, and I ) on an Alaskan cruise in two months for a week. This is something that she and my grandpa did and she wants us to go with her.

Well, i cant go and she is crushed. I have a week in for vacation in July and I took off a week in January for afamily cruise.
We have to book within 2 weeks and I wont know if i have a job for the fall by then. If i knew i had a job, no problem--i would be taking off for the summer so I wouldnt have to worry about the July trip.

I just feel bad for my grandma--It would be a free trip for me and quite possibly the last trip to take with my grandma..So i just feel guilty

I just had to vent and hope that venting made me feel less guilty!

Thanks , as always

:( I'm not sure if there is any way for this to work out differently, but I hope you can all find some peace about whatever decisions you can make!

Hope you all had a great day!

Off to get ready for work! Ugh!

We are still deciding on where we want to go for sure!

We have always wanted to go to Disneyland, so I am trying to crunch the numbers, and figure out all the details!

Adorable Easter photo! I hope you get to go to Disneyland, so I can live vicariously through you! Either way, hooray for a ticker coming soon! :yay:

Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter,

the azaleas are in bloom so I thought I would share a little Spring with my friends who haven't seen it yet, hang in there, it's on it's way,

Thank you for sharing your spring picture! It snowed again today, but at least we didn't have a blizzard like the previous 2 years (and some of you today!). I'm sooooooo ready for spring! :headache:

We had a great visit with Kristin as well as a yummy meal, even if I say so myself! ;)

Her scene for her Acting for the Camera class that will be filmed tomorrow is learned and she opnly has the lats act of "Merchant of Venice" to finish tonight/tomorrow a.m. I believe she's got it! :goodvibes

When we got off I-95 on the way home, traffic was at a dead standstill just north of that exit. But am I glad we got off then! I pity those on I-95 from Fredericksburg northward! :(

I'm so glad you had a nice visit and arrived home safely! :goodvibes

Thanks..i know its not a big deal, but its so important to her..she is thinking this will be the last possibility for us to go on a trip together. I am trying to convince them to push it to late june, but then its almost double the price.
Im okay with not going --shes just not!

So I couldn't say it better than what I posted on my blog, so I'll copy it here for you -- and then give you the a photo or two you've been whining for, although I refuse to succumb to the traditional, boring (IMO), posed "belly shot". ;)

ETA: That didn't make any sense to me. The entry is here if you want to see them.

I'm sure it's hard for everyone! It would be a fantastic trip, it seems, with your family, so I'm sure everyone is a bit disappointed! She will understand though in the long run, if you simply can't make it! I hope something else might still work out for all of you to spend time together! :wizard:

I hope you all had a nice Easter! I didn't get a nap, so it's REALLY my bedtime! Goodnight! :goodvibes

My coteacher just called about something else (shes also one of my best friends!) and i chatted with her about it. She said she thinks I should go for it,,just take the week and enjoy it--they have subs to cover for me and she thinks it will be a mistake if i dont go

So im going to go in early tomrorowa nd were going to look at the calender and see...so there may be a chance after all!

Where are you buying them from?

Shoebuy.com

No, Deb, and I REFUSE to look them up -- I don't need more shoes! ;) (Read on...........)

What?! I would love the email! That's a fantastic deal!

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

I just forwarded the email. I hope you get it in time.

Adorable outfit Tom :goodvibes

You look great :thumbsup2 I can't believe that 2 babies fit in there :goodvibes I'm sure I was much bigger at this point when I just had one in there :lmao:

Thanks! Do you know if you had the ticket that is about $50?

:wizard: Hope your allergies and ulcer improve!:wizard:

I bought the general admission, and then the Up Close tour. You can find discounts for the tickets -- try the budget board.

So, we had a minor miracle here last night. I haven't posted it outright (since you never know who else is reading our thread), but Jonathan has been working in Chicago for the last month, and was slated to come home last night. Of course, thanks to Kristine's post and another friend on the DIS, I knew that conditions were really bad, and getting worse.

Amazingly, he did make it out of Chicago last night, and was only about a half-hour late arriving home. :woohoo: He said so many flights around his on the board kept getting cancelled or delayed, but for whatever reason, his flight remained "on time." I'm just so thankful that he's home, and safe. :goodvibes

(So Elizabeth, there is some hope for Momboss!)

I'm so glad he made it home. It sounds like you guys have had a relaxing weekend. :goodvibes I wouldn't know much about hats either. I've worn my share of jeans and boots, but never hats.

would this dress be formal enough or not?
edressme_1994_2646229.jpg

i got a HUGE surprise yesterday. i weighed myself and i lost 2 pounds. 6 pounds total since i started at the end of January. being sick and losing shocker helped with about 3 of those pounds :rotfl:

Pretty dress. Congrats on the weight loss! Keep it up! Sorry about the kitty -- I hope someone does take it in.

My mom called today to tell me there is something weird on her mammogram so she has to go for a consult with a surgeon on Wednesday. If you all could spare some PD for her that would be great. There is no history of breast cancer in our family at all, but it is still a concern.

Sending PD for your Mom! :grouphug: I'm glad you are beginning to feel a little better and hope you are feeling much better tomorrow!

I am feeling really bummed. We were suppose to leave Monday to go to Ky. for the week. I just spoke with my uncle & he is to ill :sad1: He had triple by pass surgery & is very weak, so I do understand. I am just worried that I will never get to see him again & this makes me very sad.

I swear I feel like I just keep falling deeper & deeper into depression, something has got to give here. One minute I am up, the next I am down, frustrating.

I'm so sorry! I hope you manage to salvage the week. Sending PD for good weather and for your Uncle. Randy's oldes brother has had three open heart surgeries this past week and almost died. Luckily, he is doing much better and may even get out of ICU tomorrow. It's been a real rollercoaster, made worse because we couldn't go visit him and were relying on updates through the hospital and occasional updates from his wife. (She's super quiet and isn't a good communicator...very sweet, but a little strange...)

Lots of   :wizard: :wizard: for you as well, Theresa. It's been good to see you around more lately, but it definitely seems like there's something still there eating at you. Stay strong, and remember, we're here for you.

Well said. I hope the funk lifts.

I just sent out 80 some resumes right before i left for colorado..I sent to all schools within 45 min from my hosue in all directions! I have 2 interviews set up!

Good luck with the interviews! I hope many more schools call you. It sounds like you might be able to work out the cruise -- I sure hope so.

that sounds like a lovely time....I have been around rodeos most of my life...but I still wouldn't be able to tell if the hat is right:rotfl:

We went and spent some of the girls gc's at different spots today and then headed to the zoo. As we were headed out I started feeling rotten...at first I thought it was just a bad IBS episode but I do believe I am SICK.

I hope you are better.

I am feeling much better though I'm pretty tired here. We're just waiting for the bunny to come as the kids are pretty restless tonight. We're really looking forward to the treasure hunt tomorrow. I've made the clues and attached map pieces to each clue. Once they find them all they can assemble the maps and find their treasure chests. of course they'll still need to complete a word scramble to find their keys :rotfl:

The prep work is moving along though the dust is horrible. I had to run errands this afternoon and someone opened my bedroom door. Chris was sanding drywall and the dust filled our room. I was so upset when I got home as I have a dust allergy. We had to completely clean our room and wash the bedding (actually we are still doing that). That really put a damper on progress. Once the room was cleaned we wrapped the kids presents in gold paper and loaded the chests. That was actually a good way for me to calm down.

I hope you are feeling better. I'm so allergic to dust -- I can imagine what you were feeling when you came home and had to switch gears, clean up, plus face the possiblity that you would feel worse again.

WTG on the Easter projects -- you are so creative! I'm sure they loved the surprises.

Elin -- I'm glad you had a good trip/visit. :goodvibes

I'm not feeling worse, so that's a Blessing. I think I have a sinus infection, but the mouth ulcer is beginning to get better. I no longer talk funny. :rotfl:
I did e-mail Merrie to tell her I would be working from home tomorrow. That way, I can take more meds without having to worry about getting sleepy during the long commute, and since the boys will be home, I can have some more time with them. Sports died down because of Easter, but will gear up this week so it will be nice to spend time with them. I'll also get a lot of work done from home, as I won't be interrupted so often.

Sending PD and prayers to all of those sick or needing uplifted spirits! :)

We had a wonderful albeit busy day. First the kids had to find their Easter baskets as the EB always hides them ;) Hunter had trouble finding his, but he did find it in the end. Then we got the kids dressed and Chris kept them busy while I hid the treasure chests and all the clues. They were so anxious to get moving.

They each had index cards with clues that led them to more cards with more clues. Each card had a piece of a map attached.

Once they found all their clues that had to assemble the maps

Then off they went to find the treasure

Unfortunately the treasure chests were locked and they didn't have the keys :lmao: We gave each of them a word scramble to do which in the end told them where the keys were. Colby's was actually hidden in his pants pocket and he had no idea :rotfl2:

I bet it took them 1 1/2 hours from start to finish. They've already requested another one next year :rotfl: The cell phones were a big hit and they can't wait for me to activate them. Unfortunately for them it won't be until our Disney trip.

You will see in the pictures that our house is torn apart since we are working from ceiling to floor in many areas.

We are in the midst of painting Hunter's room. It was a royal blue, but he wanted it red as that is his favorite color. He chose a Mickey Red and boy is it red. It'll take a me a while to get used to it. It will take at least 2 coats if not more to cover the blue. Here's a shot of the old and new color
SewingProjects135.jpg

The chests were filled with things that I've picked up on Clearance since Christmas. There were some video games from when FYE went out of business. Some Valentines hearts filled with Reese's goodies (aka the beating heart :lmao: ) Cell Phones gold candy coins, Toiletry kits. Really just a bunch of little things that I wrapped in gold paper.

neat, I remember you talking about the games and phones. were those pirate pillowcases.

We had lunch at My DB's house. We all brought a few items and the 11 of us got together. My DB gave his kids a Wii for Easter. Acutally I think it came from the EB, but it seems strange to me. Anyway we played Wii bowling. My brother was hilarious. When it was his turn he came out wearing his bowling shoes with a hand towel and talc :rotfl2:

I also gave everyone their July 4th shirts. They LOVED them. I cannot tell you how many times my DM has mentioned how much she likes them :thumbsup2

I had to be at work at 4 PM and it was slow. I guess they were busy earlier in the day, but not tonight.

Olivia was so excited to get her swim suit, rash guard shirt and Ariel flip flops and a pooh book.

My trip here as been great. I leave early in the morning, pick Becky up in Lansing and then head back to the U.P.

I was hoping to see Chanon but with the late arrival on Saturday that just isn't going to work out. Bummer!

My sister & I went shopping yesterday afternoon. Mom had wanted my sister to help me pick out a couple of outfits. I say no way at least 7 times. Somehow, my sister still ended up getting me to try on clothes and I ended up with $400 of clothes from Marshall's at my mother's expense! There's a long story behind it so I'll share after I get home.

Happy Easter DDA and have a great Monday.

Deb,
I know you did some scrap book pages with your autograph pages, but I am wondering what other ways you are using to display them? I am not very crafty and not sure if I could do a scrapbook page that I would like.

I'm not a very good scrapbooker either, but I did a scrapbook page for each character. The computer page that I had the character sign is on the right hand page and the scrapbook page with the character photo is on the left hand page.
