DDA Chapter 4

I have also decided to set a goal for myself first. Chris and I are both planning to go on our diets starting Monday. We are less than 4 months out for our Summer vacation. Chris wants to start a 90 day plan thinking that if we have a specific time frame we will better be able to stay 100 % on track. His goal is 30 lbs, mine is 15 lbs. Once I reach my goal I will order the new make up and give myself a mini make over. I think I will attempt to grow my hair out during that time frame which will allow a new hairstyle too :goodvibes
Great plan!

Hi all! Sorry that I've been a little MIA. I got busy earlier this week and it's taken me this long to clean up. On Tuesday I managed to finish clearing one set of shelves in the basement then vaccuumed that area to rid all of the dirt, cobwebs, who knows what. Dad came down as I was finishing and proceeded to resecure the sheleves and stabilize the whole unit so now I can actually use it all! That will do a long way to helping me with the next step.

Wednesday I sorted out 3 boxes of craft stuff and put them in the photo boxes I bought almost a year ago for just that purpose. Now Terra can actually use them! She's already made several pictures and puts everything right back when she's done.

Today I may just do nothing. ;-) Actually, I need to start burning our photos onto DVD lest something happen with the computers again (knock on wood). I've made a list of the 4 main projects I have going or need to get going. Each has been assigned a day of the week that I will work on it and the 5th day will be a "field trip" type of day with Terra. So far this week, it's helped me focus on these projects and I've gotten things done on each of them. Now to just keep it that way.
Sounds like your making progress! Great plan too!!!

I've read everything but just don't have the energy to reply to it all. RL issues with the ex are exhausting me.

We also just found out that my great aunt passed away this morning. Joe saw her last night- yesterday was her 95th birthday- and said she did not look good at all. I am sad that she died but relieved that she didn't suffer for too long. None of us think that my uncle will last much longer.
Sorry to hear about your great aunt. It was nice that Joe got a chance to see her. Your poor uncle.

DH just called. He will be going for a pretty big promotion in the next month or so. If anyone has some spare pixie dust he would appreciate it! His immediate supervisor and the BIG supervisor are both encouraging him to take this step, so I know he will do well. But he is a little worried about biting off more than he can chew. At any rate, if he dosn't make the cut this time he will have some groundwork in place for the next time.:)
WOW! That would be great!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

So I broke down and bought Bob's birthday present today.

He currently has satellite installed in his gas guzzler I mean truck, and last year he drove his truck in good weather just to listen to baseball games at work. This way he can use his car (the gas saver) and still get the games. And I love the fact it came with the docking station too - I looked at another set and it would have cost me twice as much to buy the receiver and docking station seperately. Then we can take it camping and he doesn't have an excuse.
Cool!

Happy Friday, DDA! :flower3:

Thanks for all the kind words and PD for my dog. It's been a tough week with some ups and downs, but she is doing much better and seems to be on the road to recovery. She's pretty much been in the constant care of either the animal hospital or her new vet all week, but I was able to work from home today so she could have a quiet day of recuperation. Needless to say, she's slept most of the day, but is eating well, taking her meds, and seems to be breathing a bit better. Hopefully this lung infection will leave soon.

And I'm beginning to plot how to get remuneration from the vet that caused this mess. The bills have been a bit  , and I certainly think they should be held responsible. Hopefully, I won't have to resort to using some of my coworkers' legal skills.

I did, however, get an unexpected promotion at work this week, and that certainly couldn't have come at a better time with all this!
Your poor puppy! It has been a long haul for her!

Congrats on your promotion.:woohoo:

just letting family know i will be going to austin this weekend. i am happy about it cuz i can love on my aunts lap dog and maybe see my brothers dog maynard who will jump in my lap and give me kisses even though he is bigger than she was.
Have fun!

My letters are done, and I really think they look cute! :teeth:

I had wished (and might still) that, like the example I showed, I could get more varied patterns of similar colors (ie hers were all pinks, and so the patterns were each more unique). Instead, since we couldn't determine a single color to pick since the nursery is so colorful, each letter is a different color with a subtle pattern. I think I like it, I hope it ends up looking good in the room!

Sticking with "fostering individuality" :), each girl has the colors in the same order, but different patterns. At a glance the designs look mostly the same, but in person (or at least up close) they are different.

I'll be right back as soon as I can get pictures up! :goodvibes
Can't wait to see them!

Bernadette, sorry I must have missed read the date for the travel channel. The Disney shows were on today.

On March 6th at
9:00 pm - WDW Behind the Secnes.
10:00 pm - Disney Cruise Line.
No problem! We're watching it now and Emma has never been on HM before but had been saying she would go on it with me. She just saw it and said "that's not scary for me-babies maybe.":thumbsup2

DH & Lizzy are at a Girl Scout Father/Daughter Dance. I'll have to upload photos.

Jennifer - I am glad you are pleased with your craft project! :goodvibes

Bernadette - I love HM. I hope Emma likes it!
Can't wait to see the pics of Lizzy & DH!

Patience, they're uploading! I had to come upstairs, take them, get them onto the computer... now they're going to photobucket and you'll see them in just a minute! :rotfl:

I think it's mostly because I like anything going in the nursery... it's coming together now and I love adding to it! Trust me, when I told Kyle about them, I was sure to point out all the flaws! ;)

Yep. Looks like the clock is about 11 minutes slow.

Uncle1 sent DS a link to a YouTube video of this horrible, cheesy Japanese monster movie. Of course DS LOVES it. And of course there are links to ALL KINDS of other cheesy Japanese monster movies on that page. DS just watched about 8 of them.

Did I tell you about the latch-hook wall hanging/rug thing I was going to make for DS? It is just a picture of different sports equipment. I told DH I was going to have it finished by DS's first birthday. It still isn't done. :rolleyes1

Thanks, everyone, for the compliments on my design and for the good wishes for my leg. The leg is starting to feel better, but it still hurts. I think I'm coming down with something else, though. I'm running a low-grade fever (100.0) and just feel kind of yuck.

I have a feeling my poor scrapbooking procrastination won't get any better when I'm chasing after 2 little ones, so I'm afraid I feel for you way too much!

I think if she thinks she'll like it she will.:thumbsup2

I have to upload them to my Mac. They are on a memory stick with some of my Disney photos so I have to wait for to read those 400+ plus photos then I have to upload it to photobucket.....

See above...I understand.

I understand all about that too!

Beth, I hope you're feeling better soon!

Here's a quick shot of a few of the letters, so you can see the type of patterns. There are 10 different ones, but I won't bore you with individual shots, since you can't really see them well in pictures anyway ;)

(And no, one of them is not "Elvis"... I realize it may appear that way with the letters that ended up in the frame :rotfl: )

Glad to hear she will go on it this trip, way to go Emma. :cheer2: You will enjoy it.

Thanks! I guess I don't have to worry about it being anything bacterial, since I'm on Keflex for the leg.

Those letters look great! I wonder if Laura is too old for something like that...we could even make them together.

Do we get to know the names? I'm going to go crazy trying to figure out the possibilities from the letters shown.

Truthfully, the worst part about the whole project was the painting! The letters were 2 different brands and countries of origin (don't ask, it was all Michael's sold... I have NO idea their reasoning behind certain letters being different than others :confused3 ). So some parts of some letters required 2 coats of white paint.... some stayed rough no matter how much I sanded, etc. It drove me nuts! The decoupage, cutting, etc that I thought would be more tedious wasn't all that bad!
