DDA Chapter 3

The kids came home with Report Cards. Both boys have all A's as letter grades, but each have an "S" in extras like health. I have no idea if that will keep them from high honors or not :confused3 I'm very happy with what they did. Nick only dropped in Health and maintained or did a bit better in all other classes. Hunter improved or maintained. I'm very proud of them :thumbsup2

Bernadette we have tried the oatmeal baths, but the don't seem to help with the peeling itch. I may need to exfoliate his hiney to get that skin off

It is nice to see that we have all adjusted well to our new home and no one is complaining. The boutique thread that I just started reading this week is having a coniption fit over "losing" there thread and it was only like 60000posts or something :rotfl: :rotfl: I've seen people posting about how they need to make a bunch of posts to get back their most posts on thread status :rotfl: I think we passed worry about those things a very long time ago :lmao: It's funny how things look in perspective

Yay for good report cards!
I don't think I would want my hiney exfoliated, even if it itched.:scared:
The boutique posters sound like an interesting group.:rolleyes1

I suppose that I need to drag my butt out of this chair and get motivated for work. It's been so long since I've had to work I'm kind of dreading it :lmao: I'm sure it will be fine once I get there.

Since reading on the Disboutique thread I have been thinking about making Animal themed camp shirts for us to wear to AK. There has been some cute material with pictures of animals in it that might make a nice camp shirt. I'm trying to decide if I can make them masculine enough for my crew. I've made camp shirts before, but they were car show material, manly arh arh arh In my best Tim Allen voice.

Chris just called to say that he will be home before I need to leave for work. That give me a few extra minutes :rotfl2:

Princess is waking up. I can hear her squirming around in her crib. Which means we need to brave the elements and go to the grocery store.:scared: I have decided I would gladly pay A LOT for groceries from a store with covered parking. Even if we get carry-out help we'll still be wet and frozen by the time we get back in the car.

I just got an e-mail from the school talking about upcoming events. They are having the Science Fair awards, the band concert, and a PTA meeting all on the evening of Feb. 5. So how late are we supposed to hang out at school? :scared1: It will take HOURS for them to go through all that! Or maybe not, if they are just doing 1st-3rd place for 6th-8th grade. In elementary we had to sit through the top FIVE projects in grades K-5. That was long. And I don't expect the band concert to be long because DS doesn't know that many songs!:rotfl2:

but you have three grades of songs to listen too.....the shortest middle school band concert we had was 1 hour and 20 minutes....the spring concerts are always longer here because they include the Jazz Band....longest one we've had is just over 2 hours. I always like the spring concerts better because more of the kids actually know how to play their instruments:lmao:

We have the opposite problem. I still can't get to personal email sites, but I can live without that! :rotfl:

:rolleyes1 We've found a small way around there here by going to yahoo's search engine then searching for our mail that way. At least when you search for AOL Mail, it doesn't seem to trigger ours.

So we got our golf balls today...
here's the proof: http://s3.golfballs.com/logo/c5/c5312e05-9118-453f-b098-b2c4cfb473cb_1.pdf
...and here's the golf ball... http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f91/yellowfish78/Wedding/GolfBallinBox.jpg

I don't want to be a Bridezilla, but I complained after EVERY person at work said they couldn't read it. I don't know if this picture does it justice, but the background is A LOT darker than the proof. So we have a few options after I sent off an email - either a discount on the order or have them sent back and reprinted.
Is it noticable to you guys?

Chanon, the background is definitely darker than the proof. You can read your names, but the date gets a little lost in the background!
I would send them back and get them reprinted with a lighter background.

So Jim was able to get home early so I could come into work....I am here less than a minute when the vulture...I mean my co-worker...was hounding me and then less 5 minutes later he was out the door for the day leaving me alone and without giving me a heads up on anything:headache:

I've left a lovely voice mail on my boss's phone....we'll see if he follows through:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 The vulture should have been fired a long time ago but this SPRC doesn't seem to fire people.

Since reading on the Disboutique thread I have been thinking about making Animal themed camp shirts for us to wear to AK. That is one of the reasons I want to work with mom on the sewing machine this week-end. I'm hoping to try my hand at some shirts before June. Chuck only likes button down shirts in the summer. He doesn't want t-shirts or tank tops. T-shirts are too hot with the weather and he is worried about burning his arms with a tank top.

DS came out of his room this morning and his shirt looked rather small. It is a size 10 Talbots, so obviously the 2 size 10's that I bought Wednesday will need to go back. They didn't have any size 12's so that's the end of that!

I found some cute things for Princess at Gymboree, all of it on sale. We have decided that Gap clothes just don't fit her very well. When DS was little Gap clothes were cut HUGE. Maybe the boys' things are still that way. But the girl things are cut very skinny and tight, and Princess doesn't like that.
Oh that reminds me....I bought Joe 2 pairs of cords, 2 white turtle necks, Lizzy a ribbed turtleneck sweater, Lizzy knee socks and a fleece hat for under $50. It would have retailed for $130.

Congrats to the boys!:woohoo: Poor Colby. Hope the itchies go away soon!:wizard:

I don't think they look that bad but you do have the time to get them fixed and you would probably feel better if they looked more like what you had hoped for.

Doesn't sound fun.

Yes, it is definitely noticable. I'm not usually one to complain but I wouldn't accept that. They should have realized that it wasn't going to fly!

Jennifer - I read this article the other day - it might help you out! :thumbsup2

Chanon, it's not terrible, but it's definitely darker than your proof. I say you should get what you paid for and they represented!

I'm sorry, Theresa.

Channon-I think they need to reprint the balls that gray is too dark.

Deb-I forgot to say    for the boys grades. But there is only a week left in January...you are so much more lenient than I am...Cassidy didn't see the outside world for 3 weeks last time she was grounded because of school work. I'm such a hands off parent when it comes to grades...mainly because I know the girls are like their mama....procrastinators and doing enough to pass the class (why work when you can do as little as necessary and still get b's and a's:confused3 ) Abi is a little work horse so the only reason she didn't have straight A's is because of that debacle in the fall with her not turning in work. That's the part I've never gotten about my kids......doing the work but not turning it in.

Debbie-I am so glad your numbers are coming down and that your hubby is willing to eat the same food.

I think it is kind of hard to read :( Not impossible, so if you could get a discount I think they are a nice gift.... but if they won't offer you that, I think they should definitely reprint them. What a cool favor, though!

And there is, unfortunately, NO way around our filter. Practically any site with the word mail in it is banned. We can't even access the website in which we check our work email, we just have to use outlook. :rotfl:
