DDA Chapter 3

Lindsay, that article is brilliant! I'm SURE a proxy would work, and I hadn't thought of that.... but it's even cooler to realize that translation services run the same way. Perfect! Now that I've got everyone sending any important mail to my work address :rotfl: Thanks!

but you have three grades of songs to listen too.....the shortest middle school band concert we had was 1 hour and 20 minutes....the spring concerts are always longer here because they include the Jazz Band....longest one we've had is just over 2 hours. I always like the spring concerts better because more of the kids actually know how to play their instruments:lmao:

It better not be that long, because DH goes to bed at 7:45 PM and DS goes to bed at 8:30 PM. The note DS got said the concert starts at 7 PM, so we'll see! He said something about the other girl who plays bass drum is an 8th grader.:confused3

Chanon, the background is definitely darker than the proof. You can read your names, but the date gets a little lost in the background!
I would send them back and get them reprinted with a lighter background.

I agree.

So Jim was able to get home early so I could come into work....I am here less than a minute when the vulture...I mean my co-worker...was hounding me and then less 5 minutes later he was out the door for the day leaving me alone and without giving me a heads up on anything:headache:

I've left a lovely voice mail on my boss's phone....we'll see if he follows through:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 The vulture should have been fired a long time ago but this SPRC doesn't seem to fire people.

I hope the boss takes some action.
When my mentor/friend quit the non-profit where I used to volunteer I was really sad. She was the director of fundraising, but they had her pulled in about 18 different directions and she was totally burned out. They replaced her with a woman I could not stand, and we lost a bunch of committee members. This woman was just clueless and completely ineffective, she damaged relationships with donors that we had been nurturing for years, she was a disaster. And the agency director didn't want to hear about it. By the end of that year (well, the fundraising year ran Feb-Nov) we had lost all but about 5 committee members and I quit, too. (The event committee was all volunteer.) I wrote a huge long letter telling the director all of my issues, and I told her I wasn't coming back. I turned over my notebook with all of my donors and all of the info I had gathered and I walked away. They did get rid of that woman, but the damage was done.:sad2: The event went really well this year - they raised a lot of money. I can only imagine the money they might have raised if they still had the 30 or so smart, dedicated, passionate people who were on the committee before. I brought in $35,000 worth of food, beverage, and prize donations in a single year BY MYSELF, so with a little help it could have been truly spectacular. It was an AMAZING group and I miss them terribly.

i just have to say January has sucked. y'all know about my dad having hernia surgery. that went fine. once dad got home mom had the stomach bug for about a week. my older brother came home for a wedding this passed weekend and we were going to celebrate out birthdays(by the way i still haven't gotten my birthday cake, but he did and what he wanted to eat). well Saturday we were going to go out to eat. Saturday around 2 in the morning i got so sick. i must have had the stomach thing too. i felt horrible Saturday and Sunday. Monday dad had an eye appointment and he had a cyst removed from his eye lid, so he came home with one eye. Tuesday i had a check up with my neurologist(everything is fine) still wasn't feeling 100% but better. got home and found out dad had to get blood work done again because his potassium in his heart is high, grandmother is back in the hospital for the 4 time in 4 months and then dads foot was hurting so bad that he couldn't bear weight on it. he went to the doctor and he has gout. Thursday i was still not feeling well and it was making me uneasy because i thought i might be going into respiratory distress again and didn't want that happening. as mom and i were talking we decided its me probably inhaling to much air at night under my bypap because i had stomach pains and all it was was burps or gas(sorry to much info). yesterday was an ok day. then we find out today my grandmothers condition is now grave. so 2 hours earlier we were trying to determine what to do with me. my dad is her power of attorney and he cant drive still and needs to be up there. i wanted to go but then i didn't because there is nothing i can do so i decide to stay here. when she passes she is having her body donated to science so there will be no services or anything so if she does die why be up there. i love her and will miss her dearly but she has been in pain for 4 months and the same cycle happens so she is better off. i so need some good news which i might have next week. if dad didn't need to go up today i would have found out today.

:rolleyes1 We've found a small way around there here by going to yahoo's search engine then searching for our mail that way. At least when you search for AOL Mail, it doesn't seem to trigger ours.

So we got our golf balls today...
here's the proof: http://s3.golfballs.com/logo/c5/c5312e05-9118-453f-b098-b2c4cfb473cb_1.pdf

I don't want to be a Bridezilla, but I complained after EVERY person at work said they couldn't read it. I don't know if this picture does it justice, but the background is A LOT darker than the proof. So we have a few options after I sent off an email - either a discount on the order or have them sent back and reprinted.
Is it noticable to you guys?

Since you are not satisfied with them I would say send them back and have them reprinted, you have plenty of time so why settle for less than what you want?

Karen - I hope that things look up for you soon.

yesterday when i was trying to catch up someone posted some one that did adult clothes like tom does and they were joking with tom about it. i wanna see the tread the lady was on and since they are hiding long threads i cant even find the boutique thread. help.

Karen - I hope things improve soon!! :wizard: I am sorry to hear about your grandmother.

The airfare for August is going to drive me over the edge. Yesterday there were flights up through May 20 for like $230. They were round trip, non-stop flights. Now those exact flights are up to like $378 and the planes are empty! American can't possibly think that by raising the fares those planes are going to fill up! Then I thought about transferring miles from DS and me to DH so he can go on miles because at this point the transfer fee is cheaper than the airfare. BUT there aren't any flights available with miles unless we pay 50,000 miles! The 3 of us combined don't have 50K miles!:headache: Grrr.:headache:

Marci,
Great pictures! We are trying BD in april for lunch. I LOVE cobb salad so I am looking forward to that. Does the grapefruit cake tastes like grapefruit? It looks nice but I don't like grapefruit.

No -- it doesn't. I've had it multiple times over the years, and I got a dry piece a couple of years ago, but since then it's been very moist and yummo!

You guys aren't using the DDP for it are you? (sorry -- I have a hard time remembering specifics...) The salad isn't very expensive so we always pay OOP for it and save our credits.

The kids came home with Report Cards. Both boys have all A's as letter grades, but each have an "S" in extras like health. I have no idea if that will keep them from high honors or not :confused3 I'm very happy with what they did. Nick only dropped in Health and maintained or did a bit better in all other classes. Hunter improved or maintained. I'm very proud of them :thumbsup2

Bernadette we have tried the oatmeal baths, but the don't seem to help with the peeling itch. I may need to exfoliate his hiney to get that skin off

It is nice to see that we have all adjusted well to our new home and no one is complaining.

Congrats to your boys -- awesome! I'm glad Colby is feeling better. Did you say he had Scarlet fever? It's very scary! My sister lost her vision in one eye after having it.

Sending a huge hug to you! :grouphug: I can't imagine the hurdles you face on a daily basis to do things that I take for granted. I had lunch yesterday with my good friend whose son attends school with Andrew and has MD. (I've PM'd you about him before.) Some of the things she mentioned they are currently dealing with (and with a good attitude most days) would have me running for my house to never come out again. So, here's another hug! :grouphug:

Elizabeth -- I keep forgetting to send that check to you, but I will on Monday.:)

Hi Beth!

You must have heard Elin yelling in your dreams, telling you where our new thread was.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:
:lmao:
Elizabeth I never heard of schools calling with a recording about whether school is open or not. Glad we don't get those here!
we never had those either--the calls that school was opened would d rive me nuts

Excellent :thumbsup2 Of course you could still stay with us for FREE ;)

:

very good point :) by the way,,i MAY be up in your area sometime soon

Ditto! :thumbsup2

Excellent news, Jen! (And thanks for passing along what the subject line is!)

Not sure if it matters or just coincidence--i called the other night to see if i had a PIN attached to my name--he was really nice but said no, and that they were still going out--2 days later, i got an email

Deb,

Horray for the report cards!:teacher: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

WOOHOOO!!

Really????? OH JEN or JENNIFER....I think August would be a really good idea for you guys. Maybe you could get the code applied to my reservation, and Elizabeth's, and Janet's and Anne Marie's.:thumbsup2
wow you mean I could share my code
Have you found the links on www.themouseforless.com? They don't have word searches but they do have lots of other cute kid pages. You can also do a search for Disney coloring pages (or check over on the family board here on the dis for links). There are lots of downloadable pages out there.
yes and I will use some of them, I also have checked out the link on the family thread did not remember seeing the word searc but Chanon's link works. I will post pics of the pages I decided to use
Another think I did was make my own sudoku-I used a book as a guide for the puzzle but substituted the numbers for Disney stickers. Some of the kids sudoku puzzles are 4x4 so they are pretty easy. hmm I might have to think about tht one

Do you mean day by day schedule? I haven't done that yet. Just have dinner on the 14th with Elizabeth & Janet and breakfast on the 15 or 16th with Elizabeth. No Color Coded Matrix of Fun even started yet. I think I'll have to go to 2 pages this year.yes I need to figure out what days we will do what parks so was wanting to see what you ladies had planned to do to see if we could cordinate

They can fit about 300 pics on one CD but you can have unlimited number of pics-they just send you more than one CD. I had 5 CD's last August for the same price as if I had 1. awesome thanks did you have only 1 card, are any of you going to do a photopass share?
see my remarks above in red

If they aren't how you want them, I say have them reprinted. Remember, it's all about you! ;) :rolleyes1

Jennifer - I read this article the other day - it might help you out! :thumbsup2

http://online.wsj.com/public/article/SB118539543272477927.html?mod=blog
I saw that article a few days ago and went to work and tried it. The sites recommended in the article are blocked as well!

You want my WHOLE schedule? Or just my schedule starting from Aug. 12? My matrix of fun is at home, so I'll have to post it later.
The bummer about those codes is that they don't start until August 10, and that is the day my 30% off Bounce Back starts. I wouldn't argue with 40% instead of 30%, but I need some sort of discount for those concierge dates (Aug. 1-4) and something better than 15% for Aug. 6-10. If AP rates are only going to be $50 off rack rate then it BARELY trumps the AAA rate. I think if I can get an AP discount from Aug. 1-10 we'll save $240 total.

More. The 300 limit doesn't apply anymore.

just from Aug. 12, thanks

I had posted about the Cars "crocs" the other day. Well, someone else wanted to see them, so I took a photo of them.
DW has a pair held back for Leighanna, (I plan on making her a CARS outfit to go with them;) ).

Bernadette - Are you guys still interested in breakfast since we're doing dinner on Thursday? That's great if you are, but if that makes your schedule too crazy then please don't feel obligated! Any preferences on day and/or location? Maybe we can do the 8 AM Crystal Palace on the 16th?

Anne Marie - You know you want to arrive before the 18th. :rolleyes1

Heidi - Got your check today! Thank you!! :)

Marci - Just let me know when you mail the check so I can watch for it. Gotta love my mail delivery.

Thank you. I took them down and took a picture of them on my table, so they can been seen better. Just need to upload it to photobucket so I can put it in my siggy.

Heidi your new signature picture is cute!
