DDA Chapter 3

Here I am asking for prayers and pixie dust. My 17 year old niece found out several months ago that she is pregnant. She knows that she can't make a marriage work at this age, and she really doesn't want to try. She and Brandon made the decision to place the baby up for adoption, but his parents are trying to talk them out of it. They do not want to help raise the baby, they want the kids to get married, and raise the baby on their own. Could you please pray that they will stay out of this until the baby is placed? Thanks.

Yikes! That sounds very sticky!
Your niece sounds very mature, and the parents sound very naive. If she is telling them she isn't ready for marriage and motherhood hen they need to respect that! If she does try to raise the baby she will be very resentful about it.

Tons of :wizard: and good thoughts for all of you! I hope the parents have a moment of clarity sometime soon and decide to butt out!

What a hard situation....Prayers winging that way for the health of mama and baby and for Brandon's parents to keep their noses out of it.

Glynis - I'm very sorry for what your niece has to go through. :wizard: that they make the decision that is best for them.

Becky - that was funny!

So today the weather has just been crazy. It doesn't help I spent most of the day driving. I drove through pouring rain, floods, wind, fog, icy roads, sleet, temperatures above and below freezing, so on an so forth. Not a pleasant day to drive over 200 miles, but I did and survived.

Our office probably would have been closed today. Except the email messages sent at 6:30am to two people in the office were not read until they were at work. What parent of 3-4 kids checks their work email in the morning before going to work. The other reason all the surrounding school districts from where I live up through northern PA were listed as closed. The school district we are located in was not listed because they were already off due to an in-service day. Which we did not discover until about 11am.

Grandma's Boyfriend- This is pretty funny. I hope no one is offended.

A five year old boy went to visit his grandmother one day.
Playing with his toys in her bedroom while grandma was dusting, he looked up and said, "Grandma, how come you don't have a boyfriend now that Grandpa went to heaven?"

Grandma replied, "Honey my TV is my boyfriend. I can sit in my bedroom and watch it all day long. The religious programs make me feel good and the comedies make me laugh. I'm happy with my TV as my boyfriend."

Grandma turned on the TV, and the reception was terrible. She started adjusting the knobs, trying to get the picture in focus. Frustrated she started hitting the backside of the TV hoping to fix the problem.

The little boy heard the doorbell ring, so he hurried to open the door and there stood Grandma's minister.

The minister said, "Hello son, is your Grandma home?"

The little boy replied, "Yeah, she's in the bedroom bangin' her boyfriend."

The minister fainted.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

yikes Becky Glad you made it home safe

Becky - That sounds harrowing! Glad you are safe!

Our weather the other day was calling for "freezing fog". For some reason I find that hilarious!:rotfl2: I don't think I have ever heard that term before!

Thanks for all the dining recommendations. Here is how my list is shaping up:

Beaches & Cream
Cape May
1900 Park Fare
ESPN Zone
Biergarten
The Plaza

Hmmmm....looks like I have one too many restaurants. :confused3 :rotfl:

That's easy!!! Just have B&C for lunch & Biergarten for dinner!!!:) ;)

We will! How wonderful that the kids have enough head on their shoulders to know what it is best for the baby. I hope that the parents will honor their decision.

Glynis.

Thats a tough situation. The parents can't make their children keep the baby & get married if that is not what they want. They will resent their parents, their new baby & each other.
So many people who can't have kids would benefit from a new baby given to them.
Hope they can work it out so that they do what is best for the baby which is most important.:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Oh, my goodness! So funny!!! Alan snorted Dr. Pepper when he read it!

Thanks for all your good thoughts, everyone. We are really proud of Lydia for making this decision! She has been through some really tough situations in the last 4 years, and it will sound funny, but getting pregnant has been the best thing for her. It's forced her to grow up and face up to her responsibilities. I'm so glad that she realizes that a baby is not like a doll to play with.

Hope everyone stays safe! We started as freezing rain but it is just rain now and should hopefully stay that way.

Elizabeth-glad to hear you bought you DH a ticket to get to MCO. I would have bought it. I bet I could win a pale contest any day!

Vicki-your dress is cute! And you Prince Charming is cute too! Sounds like the extraction went better than last time. Hope she has a quick recovery.

Deb-LOVE Chris' shirt! Nice job!!!

Chanon-love the scrapbook pages you've been posting. I really do need to try some tutorials someday.

Janet-LOVE your name designs! Thanks for the heads up on August hours. I guess I need to do my Color Coded Matrix of Fun now!

Terry-glad you're finally feeling better.

Anne Marie hope you and Katie and your household get well soon!

Jennifer-congrats on making the decision for an August trip. Do you have Joovy sit n stand? I was looking at strollers at BabiesRUs today (don't ask....) and they had a rain cover for the Joovy. Sorry you're still having problems with your back.

Beth-Hi! Love the photos you posted!

Robyn-goodluck to your cousin's wife! And goodluck to you with photopass. I still have about 15 or so to go. LOVE the 1900PF photos you posted!

Tammi-congrats on booking your trip!

Theresa-I would absolutely say California Grill but the only other "fancy" place I've been is Citricos.

Glynis-prayers for your niece!

Dawn and I went out in this ice mess today. She really wanted to keep a doctor appointment, because she was very sure she had another Dermoid tumor. She was right.

We also had our mamo's done.

Great! So Cape May on Thursday, August 14, after 6 PM, party of 18?

That includes me (3), Bernadette (5), Janet (3), Jennifer (4), and Tammi (3). Is that right? Tammi, is yourBob coming or is it just you with your kids?

That looks like 11 adults, 6 children and baby Virginia. Is that right?
How FUN!!!!!! I get those counts too.

And between you, me and Janet we have enough DDE cards to cover Jennifer and Tammi if they don't have them.

I'm trying to decide if I should get DH a card. I want him to take Lizzy to California Grill in August and it would so much easier if he could go to the food court at ASMu too. I wonder if I would have to pay the full $25 for his card and if it would expired on 2/28/09 like mine. He would have to spend $125 to break even. I would think CG would be at least $65-so would he spend $60 in the 15 days were are there at the food court or $4/day without me? And would he remember to use it? :confused3

What is a dermoid tumor???

Was she in pain? :wizard: Good luck to her.

Glad you're home safe!

Our weather the other day was calling for "freezing fog". For some reason I find that hilarious!:rotfl2: I don't think I have ever heard that term before!

I have heard of that term before, more then once. I was on a plane and we were on the runway about to take off. They made an announcement that we needed to return to the terminal area to be deiced for frozen fog. We had already been deiced once, but we had to head in off the runway back towards the terminal to get a second stronger coating of deice material.
