Good evening, DDA!

We were without internet all weekend and then a couple of busy days so far this week and I feel out of touch!

Deb - Deva and I got our ornaments a gew days ago. Thank you so much!!! I love them Rachel was really excited about the Mulan one. I may have tp guard it carefully.

Glynis - I hope Timothy is feeling better.

Jen - Sounds like a great trip!

Elin - Great article!

Marci - So glad to see you popping in. I hope you have luck finding shirts.

Jennifer - I hope you're doing okay. I'm glad I was around to chat the other day. Wish I could do so more often and give you a little "company".

Tammi - Yeah on your ticker! (Elin too!!)

Theresa - I hope you pick up more hours along they way. I can't believe they have you do so low on hours. Our ornaments are purchased, I've just got to make it to the post office. Saturday morning, hopefully, if nothing else.

Bernadette - I hope your pain subsides quickly in your foot and tooth!

To all of those with colds, etc - FEEL BETTER!!! Deva has had some congestion for several weeks. Tuesday things started looking green so we headed into the doctor. She said it's still just a viral cold and should clear up soon. She's definitely less congested at night and that was the only time we really had any problems. I've just got this awful nose congestion and pain.

Glad you got them and like them. I had fun making them this year :goodvibes

It's raining here again. Not a pretty day at all. At least I have tonight off. I do need to hit Walgreens as they have 15% off your total purchase and 20% off Walgreen's items today. I have almost $40 in Jingle cash so I plan to stock up on stocking stuffers plus we need toilet papter:lmao:

Good morning. We have horrible weather here. I've been up since 1:30 AM listening to the wind howl!

Anne Marie, Janet and Chanon - Have a fabulous trip!!!!!!

Good morning, DDA! Lots of rain, lots of wind, and flood warnings. All I can say is, "Thank goodness it's not snow!" This would amount to an awful lot of snow, and I'm just not ready for that yet.

I made it back out of the attic! I couldn't find the advent wreath (that should have been out on Sunday), but I found everything else. Maybe this is a sign that I can go out and get a new advent wreath? ;) (Dh would not be amused.) I do have a way of spending money!

I drove Laura to school today. Between the weather and her inability to get out of bed this morning, it seemed like the easiest thing to do.

I have my volunteer period in the 6th grade reading class this morning and then a preschool staff meeting this afternoon. I also have a lot of things to get done around here.

For those of you on facebook, you have already seen this link. But for those of you who don't go there on a regular basis, I thought I would share what I am calling my "Proud Mama" moment. Kathrin's first food/restaurant review just came out for TimeOut Boston! I am delighted to see she and her boyfriend make such a great team. He is responsible for the photos that accompany the review. And this gig pays money too!

Very nice!!! She has a great writing style!

Chris had a dentist appointment today. The bad news is that he has a cracked tooth. The amazing news is that we decided to keep both Dental insurances rather than dropping Chris' with my new job. My benefits kick in tomorrow. With the 2 plans we should only have to pay $25 for the $1100 crown. I am so relieved that we made that decision a month ago :cool1:

One another note...Chris found a used Corolla for Nick. $200. They need to put some time into it as it needs repairs, but the sweat equity should help Nick take responsibility for the car.

Sorry for the cracked tooth, but wow, just WOW on the insurance!!! Good on ya!!!!

Hooray for the car for Nick! Does he know about it, yet? My guess is that he will love working on that car with his dad, and it will be a treasured possession for many years! And you can't beat the price!

I'm glad that you have the dual dental insurance for that! I hope that the tooth is fixed without too much pain.

My dh had cars like that while growing up (though they were all Volvos) and still drives an older car that he helps his dad keep running. I wish that dh had more of the abilities that his father has so that we could get our kids cars, but he has plenty of other pluses!

I had to pay $460 for my crown and the dentist office told me I must have good insurance to pay that little. BUT...that crown took all my 2010 benefits so it is another something like $1200 for the root canal.:headache: AND...I stopped taking the motrin today so I could take cold medicine. My foot is just a little painful but my tooth hurts. I told the endodontist that I wasn't sure it was the lower tooth with the crack that hurt. I think I might have a problem with the tooth above it too. Maybe I could tough it out til January if I have other problems....

So do I take motrin for the tooth ache tonight or cold medicine so I can breath and sleep tonight????

DH said tonight he was "sort of planning on taking me" to the doctor tomorrow. I HATE having to rely on someone else. I suppose I could drive myself but really is this too much to ask?????

Ouch! I hope that everything is healed soon and without much more money spent! Your dh sounds a bit like mine on some things.

A year from today we should be enjoying a night at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party! With that thought going through my head, I've spent the night reading about the latest info on the current holiday happenings. Gotta keep my spreadsheet up to date since it's been over 2 years since we've been to WDW at all and 4 since we went for Christmas stuff.

That is exciting to think about! I have not been at Christmas-time since I was very young. We went in January, 1972 and then again for Christmas Day. I would like to try a December trip one of these days.

I can't believe it's December already, I had better get myself in gear somehow, I've barely started my shopping

I am so glad to hear that I'm not the only one. It seems like everyone I know is done. I don't even have many ideas yet.

Speaking of shopping, I have a Macy's Friends and Family coupon in an e-mail that I can forward. It's good now through Monday for an extra 25% off (10% for electronics, furniture, and a few other things). PM me your e-mail address if interested.

Morning, all. Nothing much on the agenda here. Timothy's cold is getting better, and his cough is sounding much better, too. Thank goodness. I really didn't want another winter trip to the hospital this year! Jacob has a cold, but it's manageable with a cold pill. Mary's eczema is acting up, but we still have her steroid cream from last winter, and she's using that and Vaseline, and it seems to be helping.

Alan is working extra long hours this week and next week, so we're looking at some good OT coming our way, just in time to finish up our Christmas shopping. We're almost done, but have a few more things to purchase.

He's promised to go into the attic this morning to bring down my boxes. I need to find our box of Christmas books so the twins can each choose one to take to school. They wrap them up, and then open one a day to share with the class. We've got to get on that!

So, that's my day, today! Oh, I also want to try the toffee square cookies that are on PW's site today. They look so good!

Thanks Tammi, I am in flight right now! Couple more hours & I will be there :cool1:

thank goodness I can take Zyrtec. My eyes itch and a stuffy head with sinus pressure and drainage, are not fun when your supposed to be laying down. Good thing I can sit propped up in bed.

Jeff is supposed to get the suitcase out of the attic before he goes to work today. So Olivia and I can pack it, so it will be ready for the hospital.

Since I have not gotten Jeff but a couple of movies for Christmas I was thinking of making him a Drinking around the world Passport that one of the designers has made. I would also put 1 or 2 coupons for a drink at WDW in with it or his stocking. What do you all think.

Would love other ideas that I could give him.

Bernadette - I hope your pain subsides quickly in your foot and tooth!

:wizard:Hope Deva is feeling better!

:woohoo:Congrats on your camera purchase. Great deal!

Bernadette - hope you're feeling better soon

Thanks! Goodluck with your shopping!

Good morning--this week is dragging! I hope everyone is feeling better..this thing just keeps to be hanging on!

I think it is heading this way.

I'm hoping to not find out if my walking cast is slippery in the snow.

Yay for OT $$$!

I need to get my Christmas stuff out to see if/how many cards I might have. I was thinking of just buying some 4x6 prints to put in cards rather than photo cards. It would be nice to do those while I'm off.

How were the toffee square cookies?

Thanks Tammi, I am in flight right now! Couple more hours & I will be there :cool1:

I don't have any exiciting ideas. I got DH boxer shorts (his request), polar fleece vest, LL Bean long underwear, wii hockey, wii fishing, farmer's almanac, a tiny rat thing to get hair balls out of the drain, a flash light (can you ever have too many?), and Simpson dvds-got a great deal on those on Amazon. I bought Simpson fabric with Joe 2 years ago at Halloween to make DH PJ pants. I'll see how I feel next week to see if I'm up for that this year.

Doctor's visit went well. We went out to breakfast first-maybe not the best idea as my foot was real happy there. Foot looked good-a bit swollen but not too bad. The doctor seemed more optomistic today-he said "only" the top 1/3 of the joint didn't have cartilage. Still sounds painful to me. He seemed to think the surgery will provide me with some relief.

I see his associate next week. I'm hoping to get the stitches out. He gave me a note to go back to work 12/13.

I have 2 movies, beef Jerky and a tin of girl scout thin mints plus some Halloween candy. I was going to get him some new boxers and under shirts but I think he can wait till March for his birthday I should be back at work by then or soon after.

I think I will try to make him a bookmark for his books.

Good to hear

So I am thinking we are going to do the QSDP when we go next year. I saw some designers have coupons for treats at the different parks. Would it be wrong to print some of these and give them to him?

I am going to try to find a decent pic of a shot glass and make him a coupon good for one of those as he collects them.

We have horrible weather here too. We're having bad weather here too. Lots of rain and wind. We actually lost power at work today for an hour or so.

Sorry for the cracked tooth, but wow, just WOW on the insurance!!! Good on ya!!!!

Nick does know about the car. We wanted him to have a vested interest in it so that he will appreciate it and take better care of it. He is going to go into the shop on Saturday and clean it. I know what you mean about the insurance. Once in a while things work out. I hope you got your decorations out.

Fantastic!

It is very helpful having a great mechanic in the family. Hopefully some of it will rub off on the boys.

I hope you find your advent wreath soon.
