DDA Chapter 26

Good morning!

Yesterday I was able to get the outside of the house decorated for Christmas. I was on a mission to get that done before the rain came today. When the kids got home we put up the tree and decorated the inside of the house. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here!

Today I have tons of inside work to do (cleaning ), as well as wrap presents, go to the grocery store, laundry, etc etc, before my parents come tomorrow.

Hope everyone starts feeling better. Alyssa has some congestion and a sinus thing going on.

Hello, DDA!

I am working on getting the motivation to go up in the scary, cold attic to find the advent calendars and wreath so that they are ready for tomorrow. We aren't getting the tree until Saturday, so I will hold off on the rest of the decorations until the weekend.

I hope everyone is feeling better soon! Laura is back to school today and has to work a couple of hours tonight. My stomach has been bothering me a little, but it hasn't really kept me from doing anything.

Good luck with the cold, scary attic! Alan has to do that here, as I can't get on the ladder without feeling woozy! Looks like our decorating will have to take place on Friday night when he doesn't have to work.

Glad Laura is feeling better. I hope you don't fall ill. There's no time for that!

Good afternoon DDA,

Just wanted to let Theresa know that I finally got my exchange ornament sent out today, sorry to be such a slacker.

Theresa,

Please tell Cassidy thank you for my ornament, I LOVE him, and I loved the wrapping paper also.

I promise to post a picture later.

For those of you on facebook, you have already seen this link. But for those of you who don't go there on a regular basis, I thought I would share what I am calling my "Proud Mama" moment. Kathrin's first food/restaurant review just came out for TimeOut Boston! I am delighted to see she and her boyfriend make such a great team. He is responsible for the photos that accompany the review. And this gig pays money too!

Very cool :thumbsup2

I sent our ornaments out before Thanksgiving. I know that Jennifer said they received theirs. Tia and Tom have your packages arrived yet?

Chris had a dentist appointment today. The bad news is that he has a cracked tooth. The amazing news is that we decided to keep both Dental insurances rather than dropping Chris' with my new job. My benefits kick in tomorrow. With the 2 plans we should only have to pay $25 for the $1100 crown. I am so relieved that we made that decision a month ago :cool1:

One another note...Chris found a used Corolla for Nick. $200. They need to put some time into it as it needs repairs, but the sweat equity should help Nick take responsibility for the car.

Cool!!! The place looks pretty cool too.

I had to pay $460 for my crown and the dentist office told me I must have good insurance to pay that little. BUT...that crown took all my 2010 benefits so it is another something like $1200 for the root canal.:headache: AND...I stopped taking the motrin today so I could take cold medicine. My foot is just a little painful but my tooth hurts. I told the endodontist that I wasn't sure it was the lower tooth with the crack that hurt. I think I might have a problem with the tooth above it too. Maybe I could tough it out til January if I have other problems....

So do I take motrin for the tooth ache tonight or cold medicine so I can breath and sleep tonight????

DH said tonight he was "sort of planning on taking me" to the doctor tomorrow. I HATE having to rely on someone else. I suppose I could drive myself but really is this too much to ask?????

Good afternoon DDA,

lol...I haven't even taken Abi to get hers yet.:lmao:

Cassidy picked yours out all on her own...I will tell her you love it. Can't wait to see a picture of it.:goodvibes

Good evening, DDA!

We were without internet all weekend and then a couple of busy days so far this week and I feel out of touch!

Deb - Deva and I got our ornaments a gew days ago. Thank you so much!!! I love them Rachel was really excited about the Mulan one. I may have tp guard it carefully.

Glynis - I hope Timothy is feeling better.

Jen - Sounds like a great trip!

Elin - Great article!

Marci - So glad to see you popping in. I hope you have luck finding shirts.

Jennifer - I hope you're doing okay. I'm glad I was around to chat the other day. Wish I could do so more often and give you a little "company".

Tammi - Yeah on your ticker! (Elin too!!)

Theresa - I hope you pick up more hours along they way. I can't believe they have you do so low on hours. Our ornaments are purchased, I've just got to make it to the post office. Saturday morning, hopefully, if nothing else.

Bernadette - I hope your pain subsides quickly in your foot and tooth!

To all of those with colds, etc - FEEL BETTER!!! Deva has had some congestion for several weeks. Tuesday things started looking green so we headed into the doctor. She said it's still just a viral cold and should clear up soon. She's definitely less congested at night and that was the only time we really had any problems. I've just got this awful nose congestion and pain.

Our Thanksgiving was good. Erin's in-laws came over as well so we had 17 here. I held dessert ransom until someone other than mom or I cleaned up. Dad took the lead and started the cleanup all on his own. Of course, we still ended up doing the next two loads later that night and the next morning, but Phil and Dad made a major dent which was a great improvement. Kristi also helped more in the kitchen in general and Erin did her two dishes as requested. Improvements, for sure. The next big hurdle will be Christmas. Kassie wants to do Christmas morning at their place and we all think Erin and Brendan need to spend Christmas morning with his mom since it's her first year here and spending Christmas with Kaylin. However, when it comes to Erin's Christmas traditions it's highly advised not to mess with them. I got chewed out last year for asking her opinion on making changes. This year, Kristi, Mom and Dad are just deciding to do separate Christmas mornings. Could be quite nice since our Christmas mornings (well, really from about 7am until 1pm are INSANE.

Rachel, Deva and I did some Black Friday shopping. We hit Target about 5 minutes before opening. I got the external harddrive I wanted and didn't think I was going to get the camera that was my 2nd choice thing. About an hour after opening a girl who worked there was walking through softlines with several electronics in her hand, including one of the cameras. I politely asked her if it was reshop and if I could see the camera. She happily handed it to me and thanked me for asking nicely. She said she'd been covering it walking past the line for checkout (wrapped halfway around the store at that point) because she was afraid of being mobbed. So now I've got a new Nikkon pocket-size camera to have for Deva pictures, so I'm happy.

A year from today we should be enjoying a night at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party! With that thought going through my head, I've spent the night reading about the latest info on the current holiday happenings. Gotta keep my spreadsheet up to date since it's been over 2 years since we've been to WDW at all and 4 since we went for Christmas stuff.

Good Morning,

Bernadette - hope you're feeling better soon

Deb - great news on the insurance

Elin - Congrats to Kathrin

Tia - sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving

I can't believe it's December already, I had better get myself in gear somehow, I've barely started my shopping
