DDA Chapter 26

I woke up this morning to the room spinning. I must have some inner ear thing going on, but the dizziness hasn't passed yet. I even took Sudafed with no improvement. The dizziness is enough to make me very nauseous and I've even thrown up a few times. This is not fun. When is this crap going to end? I've been sick off and on for a full month now. Thankfully I was able to get one of the other bartenders to cover tonight. Every time I bend down or shift positions the dizziness acts up. Grabbing beers and glasses out of the coolers would have sucked big time tonight.

Hope you feel better soon Deb...I like the idea of rings for the family. :goodvibes

Wow, we are in sync. We've found the many hotels in Hawaii offer wedding/vow renewals as a package, very reasonably priced. There are also companies that specialize in doing them. You can pick the location and how detailed you want the ceremony, flowers, photos etc. It's too early to book anything as we don't have dates nailed down. I know that we want it on the beach and the men/boys will all have leis. They'll probably do linen pants a button up linen shirts. I think I want a bouquet that has the same flowers as the leis. I looked at shorter gowns, but overall I think the floor length has more of the look I want for the beach renewals. I think Chris will give me a family ring for my right hand as I don't want to replace my original rings. We've talked about getting a family ring rather than a mother's ring for a while as it will make the stones symmetrical. I think we are going to get matching band of some sort, maybe family name or some sort of pattern or crest for Chris and for the boys. I want them included in the ceremony and my boys all wear rings anyway. We think it will be a nice heirloom to pass on to their kids.

Deb,
Did I read you are planning a vow renewal in 2012? I am telling you girl our lives are in sync!!! Having your renewal in Hawaii is going to wonderful!!:goodvibes Our 20th is next year & we were planning (well just thinking ) about having a renewal ceremony in Disney. However the cost was just too much for what they give you. So since we joined a new parish here we decided to renew our vows in our new church. Last week we looked for dresses for my girls which is hard to get too matchy-matchy since they are 5 years apart. My men will wear suits (navy or black..probably black) & I am looking for a dress but not floor length...more just below the knee or tea length. After the ceremony we'll go have dinner at this Inn near our home.
wow both sound great. Good luck with the planning. Deb, how many years?

July 25, 2012 will be 20 years
Deb I hope you are feeling better.

Definitely not better, maybe a bit worse :confused3 I have never been this dizzy in my life. The dizziness is making my tummy ill. I feel like I'm on a spinnie amusement ride like the teacups.

yuck, I hope you get to feeling better soon.

I hope everyone had a good weekend.

I did some cleaning, vacuumed out my car, changed the cabin air filter in my car, added air to my tires, did some cleaning in my room, attempted to do some shopping- which was unsuccessful and I am exhausted. I am still tiring very easily.

I have a busy week, some meetings, trainings, etc. I hope to find volunteers at some of the meetings as some units have lots of girls without leaders. I am still trying to get caught up at work.

I need to go through photos and video from my trip. I have a ton, but I am not sure yet how I want to share it.

Was anything ever mentioned about an ornament exchange?

Hugs and good thoughts to all of you.

Becky - Hope your fatigue clears out soon! Good luck finding volunteers to take the girls waiting. Theresa is taking info for an exchange.

Deb - I hope the dizziness clears out soon! I hate that feeling more than most anything else.

Deb and Anne Marie - Both your renewal plans sound great.

Hello all!

We had a nice quiet day here. Kristi and I just hung out with all of the kids here. She was watching Kaylin last night while Erin went to her HS reunion and then suggested keeping her longer today while Erin and Brendan went to tell his mom and step-dad that Erin is interviewing this week for a job that would take her to Chicago for two years. Kristi thought it might lessen the drama if Kaylin wasn't there as well.

When Erin and Brendan finished we had just recently finished eating so Kristi and the kids were all still here, meaning they had to come here to pick up Kaylin. So, Erin has now at least seen Deva. She hasn't really seen me since we were only in the same room for a minute or two and she didn't realy acknowledge me (which is okay), but at least she's past the big hurdle of seeing Deva for the first time. Brendan was the one to take Deva into her and I know that Erin held her for at least a minute or two. Hopefully she's not mad at Kristi because Brendan has texted her that Erin thinks she stayed here on purpose. I don't think she is, but he did say that she cried a good portion of the trip home, but I think that's to be expected. She had said they would go pumpkin picking with us next Sunday so we'll see what happens with that for sure and how it goes. I'm hoping that having cleared the first hurdle of seeing Deva for the first time is a step to improvement, but we'll see. Kristi's supervisor gave her some support groups to pass on to Erin as well so hopefully something good will happen there as well.

This week will be our first week of almost back to normal. Phil goes back to work tomorrow and everyone is home from vacation (plus Rachel stayed with Kristi the 2nd half of this week so it was just us at home). We'll see how it all goes with needing to do more around here and also having a little more freedom to get out. We've still got 2-3 weeks before the other kids come back as well.

I'm glad that things are getting back to normal for you. Hopefully your sister will come around.

My SIL and I were pregnant at the same time when I miscarried. We would have delivered within days of each other. She really pulled back when I miscarried and was afraid of how I'd react at her milestones. Her pregnancy really didn't bother me, but I was able to get pregnant quickly after my miscarriage and delivered Colby 4 1/2 months after she delivered Logan. I have had her comment that she didn't feel like she could share her pregnancy, but it was really more her issue than mine. In any event after the boys were born we were all okay. Things worked out.

Olivia was watching TV with me when the girls started kicking so hard that my stomach was moving. Olivia thought it was the neatest thing.

I always thought that was neat too :goodvibes

Good morning DDA!!

A reminder that I am taking info for an ornament exchange. I will close the info on Sunday, the 17th. I will get your exchange name to you next Monday.

I ran the parent side of the concessions on Saturday for Glen Burnie's Band tournament. I met some of the other parents and saw my daughter be the center of quite a few boy's attention.:rolleyes1 It is so funny to see my darling daughter, who thinks boy are still icky, so unaware she had so many boys attention. I am still not liking the band director's ineffectiveness at communication but I will work on him for next year.

Because of Friday and Saturday I can hardly walk and yesterday I about cried in public a couple of times.

I ended up in Ohio visiting my sister, her two kids, my brother & his son who flew in from Florida and my mother. We spent the day hanging out around the house on Saturday and went to Cedar Point on Sunday. It truly makes me appreciate Disney. It was fun spending time with the kids on the rides but it just wasn't the same. I'm quite sore today with the one-on-one basketball with my nephew (I won), the walks (no less than 3 long ones), and the Cedar Point hiking.

Mom, my sister & I are going to help each other with our weight loss goals. We all weighed ourselves this morning so that we can start. Hopefully, this will help all of us.

Thanks for doing this. We're all onboard here:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the pixie dust. I am feeling so much better tonight. I worked tonight, bartending. I felt so so when I went in, but by the end of the night I was feeling 100%. I actually got a great lead on a potential job, though it is in retail. I've always avoided retail because of the screwy hours, but since I had the owner of The Paper Company and the hiring manager in front of me I decided that it couldn't hurt to toss my resume into the ring. I would be applying for a department manager position is a new store that is opening Nov 2. I emailed them my resume when I got home tonight :thumbsup2

I also had an email with the interview time for my sit down interview on Thursday. Overall it was a promising day on the job front.

I also think I've come up with a solution to our kitchen storage issues. We built our house 10 years ago and do not have enough cupboard space. I've toyed with adding more cupboards, but they are pricey. My DB built his house a year before us and has the same cupboard. Eventually he wants to redo his kitchen so I could have his cupboards which match ours, but who knows when that will happen. Anyway while trying to nap today I realized that we have enough unused space in our cellar stairway that I can actually use some of the space to build a closet, accessable through the kitchen. It would technically be a pantry I guess, but there is enough space for shelves and the vacuum cleaner etc. I think we're going to do it and the cost should be minimal. I'm eager beyond words to get rid of the clutter that is now my kitchen :cool1: I'll need to hit Home Depot tomorrow to make sure that I can find a door that matches the doors we have, but I don't think it will be an issue.

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

I tried to post last night but the boards were down. I am back from a wonderful vacation. Lots of new and old friends were met and our family had a fabulous time together.

There is no way I can go back and catch up... you all were busy while I was gone! Can someone please give me an abridged version of any important stuff?!?!?

I missed you all. (well, except for Stephanie, Terry, Vicki and Chuck ;) )

Welcome home Elin. I'm glad you had a wonderful trip. :goodvibes

The sun is shining, but it may not even reach 60 degrees today. I brought the boys to school and took my morning nap. I feel so much better when I get 8 hours sleep even if there is a break in it. It would be nice to get to bed at a reasonable hour, but that won't be happening for a couple more weeks.

I've got all the paperwork filled out for the DMV and all of the proof of ID etc ready to go. Nick takes his test again at 2 PM. He's read the book at least 4 times now and Chris and I have both quizzed him. Hopefully it will be enough.

I'm off to Home Depot very soon. I'm taking my notebook. I need to see what sized doors I can find as that is the crucial measurement for my closet building. I decided not to start construction until this weekend, more likely Friday as I have the entire day off. Too much going on today and Thursday to start now and stress myself out. I am really excited to get it done though:thumbsup2
