Good morning! Today our house is being appraised. If you have any spare pixie dust, please send it our way. We really need for our house to appraise well so we can refinance our mortgage! We have spent the last few days dejunking the house, and it is so clean it sparkles!!!

Today, Alan is working a freelance job in the morning, and then he and I are taking the kids swimming, and then to a movie to reward them for their hard work this weekend!

I finally sorted through the mounds of mail. It sure piles up quickly. I also tackled the phone calls that I needed to make. Now on to the unpacking

The heat is back! I hope I can get the lawn mowed before I leave for Boston on Thursday morning. I will not mow in 98-100 degree weather. Not worth it to me. My neighbors can if it gets too high before next week!

Abi started band camp this morning....I hope this director is better than my first and second opinion that I have formed of him. But so far it ain't looking good. The heat and humidity are ridiculous.
Abi is almost ready to give up on band altogether.

I am going to stay off my feet as much as I can today as it hurts like the dickens.

I'm done too. You & Debbie both had some really great photos. Those Toy Story borders are new. Joe & I saw Lotso in May and the Toy Story borders weren't on photopass yet then.

Elin-will the grass grow much in this heat? We haven't had enough rain for too much growth.




So my foot isn't too painful but I do feel pain and pressure where the pin is when I walk. I'm not crazy about the flimsy fabric post op boot they gave me in the hospital. I have a very narrow heal and this thing just doesn't feel very secure on my foot. The doctor said I could get a walking cast to wear when I go back to work. I might try that. I've still been mostly staying off of it as instructed-I'm afraid I'll do something to slow down the healing if I walk too much on it and I don't want that.

I have my appointment with the specialist tomorrow. I am hoping for good news. But if I need surgery I hope to be able to get in ASAP so that I am in tip top shape for my trip in September. I really do not want that looming overhead all trip.

It is terrific! It was really bare bones as far as any programs loaded on it, but slowly but surely I am getting things loaded on it. It couldn't have come at a better time. My poor little 4 year old laptop keeps getting slower and slower and slower. Luckily we have a home network set up and I am able to transfer files easily between our computers. Just takes time.

Well Chris and I survived our first day back at work. It looks like I'll be working a lot this week, I guess that's good though it's tough getting back to reality.

I am hoping the grass won't grow too much. We are to approach and top 100 today and tomorrow. The problem is that ourheat wave is broken up by periods of massive thunderstorms that drop 2-3 inches of rain and the grass (or weeds, at this point) LOVE that water. I am not going to worry about it. If I have the chance and it cools off in the evening I will do the front yard and wait to do the back next week. As Scarlett would say, "Fiddle-dee-dee!"

It seemed to go really well. We'll find out for sure within the week.

Well, our day of fun was just that! We had so much fun together!

When Alan got home, we had a quick lunch and then headed off to the pool for a couple of hours. This was Timothy's first time there, and he did really well. Alan worked with the twins on their swimming, and by the time we left, they were quite proficient! That made them both so very happy! They could swim the width of the pool, and they all learned the back stroke, as well.

After swimming, we stopped by a local hamburger joint, and grabbed some early dinner. We ate on the way to the movie theater where we finally got to see "How to Train Your Dragon." It was a hit with everyone, except Leslie, who really wanted to see a more girly movie. Still, she didn't complain!

By that time, it was almost 8:00 p.m., so home we came. The kids played outside for a while, and then went to bed. What a fun day!

Nothing much on tap for today! I think we'll all just stay home, and the kids can play with their friends.

Glynis....I am very curious about your appraisal. 2 years ago we appraised at $420k. Since then 3 or more houses in the neighborhood have gone into foreclosure, including my neighbor. These houses are listed around $230k! I can't imagine the impact this has on our value, but I bet it's not good
