Sorry for the car troubles! Hope you find a not too expensive fix!:wizard:

I forgot to say that I was thinking of you in Target today. They had cute Snoopy bags and notebooks in the dollar section.:thumbsup2

Theresa-I didn't realize your job was in Target. I love Target. The Target employees always seem happy to me. I would hope that must mean it is a good place to work.

And don't you know, we already have several of those things! Love when the Snoopy stuff comes out each year. I stock up for Great Pumpkin and stockings!

Wow, only 2 posts today :confused:

I have been spending every free minute working on the closet. Today was 3 coats of paint, a floor and door. Tomorrow I will finish installing trim and shelves and load stuff in. Nick's girlfriend is coming for dinner tomorrow night instead of Thursday which means I lost 24 hours to clean the mess up. I hope that I can get it somewhere near clean before we have to go pick her up.

In other news...

I GOT A JOB:cool1::cool1:

It is at GroSolar which is a company that installs solar panels in homes and businesses. It was my first choice job of the 3 that I interviewed for. The vacation time is accrued by pay period, The pay is $3.50/hr better than my previous offer and there is room to grow with the quickly expanding business. I'm really excited. They are mailing me an official offer so I will find out more specifics (like how much health insurance costs) when that arrives.

Congrats! I'm so happy your search was successful.

They had some really nice Disney 2011 calendars. They didn't have the Snoopy bags & notebooks at my Target Monday. I'll have to try the one across town. I love Snoopy! He was my dad's favorite as well.

:woohoo::woohoo:Congrats to Theresa & Deb!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

That looks like a good deal but I don't have Costco and I really wanted to get Lizzy the blue one. I picked it up at lunch at Target. I got the last blue one they had. I paid $169.99 + 6.5% sales tax. Then I looked on amazon. I thought they were all $169 with free shipping but the blue one is $196 + 9.80 shipping. I'm glad I got her the blue one in the store.

I had read a few reviews that said the DSi "regular" was more portable than the XL but I'm glad I got the XL once I held it in my hands. It is portable enough! I know she's going to love it.

It turned out to be a really good deal! I got the blue one that Jacob wanted, and it came with a case, car charger, 2 screen protectors and already loaded with 3 games. Whew!

YEAH, Deb!!! That's great news!! :banana:

And a big yeah for you too, Theresa!!! I know you are so happy to finally have something. I've always liked working at Target so hopefully that's a good place for you. Good luck to Cassidy for her interview tomorrow.

I spent the morning trying to figure out what to do with my car which was stranded at the zoo after yesterday's disaster. When we tried to leave the zoo yesterday it wouldn't start. Called and got Mom to pick up Phil and let him take her car to the dentist and then went back to the zoo for a little bit hoping it would start when we tried again like it had for Phil the day before (yes, I know so should not have driven that far after Phil's experience, but didn't quite wrap my mind around that soon enough). Went out at 4:30 and tried again with no luck. Called Mom to call Phil and have him come get us after the dentist. Didn't realize how much longer he'd be at the dentist and then he spent 30 minutes trying to find us because my phone was dead and I hadn't realized Mom didn't know how to tell him where we were in the park. He finally got us at 7:00 and we came home with plans to go back again this morning and figure it out. So, now our car's been towed to a Firestone near the zoo and we're already out $150 between the tow and diagnostic and don't even know what the repair is yet (either somewhere in fuel line or spark plugs). :eek: :headache: Guess it's a good thing my charges start coming back next week.

I'm so sorry about the car. I hope it doesn't end up being too expensive

sorry to all of the exchangers...it has been a hectic week around here....took nearly 3 hours yesterday in Target for the interview(s) and than some shopping. I am thrilled to even have the prospect of a job...it doesn't pay much but there is opportunity to quickly move up and I know my friends who have worked there have enjoyed it. It was one of the few times having been on food stamps worked to my advantage...I had recent "softline" experience at Goodwill...whoo hoo!!

I am also fighting a wicked cold and trying to organize the next fundraiser for the band....I guess when I said I'd think about it they all thought I meant I'll do it :confused3 oh well after the initial outlay of time it shouldn't be too bad.

Congrats Deb!! Hope this job is all you are hoping for.

I have been going through online_sweepstakes.com and trying to win Christmas presents....it will be a little easier now with a job to give the girls a decent Christmas but I wasn't so sure before. So I won Cassidy a necklace, a book (for myself) and a basket of chocolates(which we will eat soon) this week. I know some enter each and every contest they can but I only enter the ones I know I have a recipient for and I don't go through all of the hoops some want you to go through. So if I average 2 wins a month I will be happy (or less...I am happy winning anything!!)

I'm so glad that you found a job. I know that you have been stressed for way too long while searching for one. That stress really sucks. I hope that everything improved quickly for you now :wizard: Congrats on winning a couple of sweeps too. I never win anything

It turned out to be a really good deal! I got the blue one that Jacob wanted, and it came with a case, car charger, 2 screen protectors and already loaded with 3 games. Whew!

That is a fabulous deal. My kids love their DSis. I'm hoping to find another laptop this year. Nick has pretty much had sole use of the one that I gave the boys last Christmas and Hunter and Colby are kind of put off by it. I understand, but at the same time, Nick does need to get his homework done and 90% of his homework is on the laptop.

Another long day here. I got up and got the kids off to school, then went back to bed for a nap. I had only gotten about 5 hours last night and woke up shaky. The nap helped. I got up, showered, cleaned both bathrooms then headed to BJs to get food for tonight's dinner. Picked up Colby and Hunter at noon, Nick and his bff at 12:30. Went to the produce stand and picked up fruit and veggies. We came home and the boys helped me clean up the house. Nick helped cut the cleats that I needed for the closet shelves and rehung the living room curtains that I had washed. Hunter vacuumed through the house and Colby worked on his room. I hung all the closet shelves and put away the pile of crap that was in the middle of the living room. The closet is already looking full and I haven't even cleaned out the buffet yet :rolleyes1 I hope it all fits in there. At 4 PM we drove the 40 minute drive to pick up Nick's girlfriend. She seemed nice. We had dinner then went to the Bonfire. That was boring, but Nick had fun. He and his girlfriend were too clingy for my liking :scared1: I told Nick that we won't be leaving them anywhere alone until their wedding night :rolleyes1 After the bonfire we had to drive her home. I let Nick drive the interstate on our way back in the dark. Did I mention that his driving scares the crap out of me. I keep thinking that it will get better, but I'm not seeing yet. Maybe I make him nervous as Chris said he was better this morning. Maybe it was just the night driving. Now I'm happily having a few minutes to myself.

I am SO glad to hear that both Deb and Theresa have new jobs!! :yay:

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

Look what I found hiding in my garden this morning!!

What a bright pick me up for your day, Elin! Very pretty.

Deb - Yay on the pantry! Hope everything fits.

Just hanging with the kiddos at home today. Very welcome after all of the running of the last two days. Kaylin and Chase are here as well so it's very giggly around here.

I'm also itching to do some Disney planning, but I don't know why. Maybe it's the need to feel it will actually still happen despite another money layout on the car. I am hoping to pick up another charge (a little older) once we settle in after the others come back so that should help too. I know we've still got a year to save, but we'll need most of it and not too many other unexpected expenses.

URGENT! PLEASE READ THIS!!!

I just got a PM from Marci. She didn't really want to talk about herself, but I got permission to post the information here. Marci was diagnosed with breast cancer on October 8th. She is preparing for a bi-lateral mastectomy on either November 4th or 15th. She is scrambling around to get everything ready. Because of not feeling well, and anxiety, she is losing weight. Nothing tastes good to her. Lately, she has felt that soup tastes the best, but she can't find anything canned that she likes. She needs recipes that are easy to prepare, freeze well, and are not too spicy that she will be able to make and stock up her freezer.

Most importantly of all, she needs our prayers and our support.

Marci, we love you and are all praying for you!!!

Marci, you are in my thoughts & prayers. I'm so sorry to hear about the cancer. Let us know (either by posting or through Glynis) if there is anything we can do.

I don't have my recipes with me but I'll see if I can get the girls to type them up for me. We have a couple of great ones that freeze very well.
