Vicki - I am sorry you and Chuck are spending your Anniversary apart. Hopefully your camping trip will make up for it!

Deb - I hope your Dad is not badly injured! I think a trip to the doctor is also in order. I hope you can persuade him to do that tomorrow.

Good morning :)

After all the storms & tornadoes(thankfully none here, just close by)yesterday, it is a beautiful sunny morning.

We are going to a fish fry this afternoon, which I am looking forward to.

Hope you all have a great day!

Yesterday, I got my hair colored and cut. I went lighter this time - more my natural color when I was younger. Still getting used to it. For the last 6 months and the first time in my life, I have been styling it every day. I decided if I want to advance in my career (which is the reason that I took a promotion so far away from the love of my life) then I should show them that I can play the part.

I have started exercising (shh, don't tell Chuck - of course, he is probably following along so will see this). My mom got me the Biggest Loser workout DVD's for Christmas and I'm trying them out. I am starting with the Cardio one.

I am watching my food quantities again and trying to cut back on my pepsi intake as well. I refuse to diet where you eliminate foods that you love. I'm trying to just make smart choices whenever I can and not overindulge on the stuff that's not so good. In the last 9 months, I have gained 20 of the 25 pounds that I had lost and kept off for more than a year.

I really want to make a true lifestyle change. I miss feeling in shape. It isn't just about the weight or shape. It is the breathing heavy if I do a little bit of work or walking.

I'm trying to get myself motivated to get some work done. I really need to get myself organized again. I got my "Getting Things Done" book out again to try to implement it. I haven't ever gotten my process in place for the new job that I've now had for more than 1-1/2 years. I really need to take the time to get it done.

Since I can't get myself motivated to get some work done, I'm going to go make some corn-shrimp chowder. I bought the ingredients yesterday and they are calling my name.

Vicki I have gained all of mine back as well & what I put in bold above is exactly how I feel. I just need to learn to not pig out on all those foods that I love so much lol Sounds like you have a good plan going for yourself :thumbsup2

Do we get to see your new hair color?

Vicki,,Hope you and Chuck will be able to have a grand time when you get together to celebrate your anniversary. :goodvibes

I am doing much better about the not pigging out. My problem is that I also need to exercise. I was so active as a child, teenager and young woman and I was able to pretty much eat anything and as much as I wanted. My sedentary ways is what is catching up with me.

I'll see about getting some pictures of my new hair posted today. It is hard to do myself. I have to find my camera cord first. I know where the camera is but not the cord.

Jennifer, Congratulations on the twins.

Tia, Glad you survived the dance recital. Terra looked great in the videos. We had ice cream for lunch yesterday too!

Theresa, Welcome to Maryland!!!

Debbie, I hope the pain subsides soon.

Vicki, Happy Anniversary to Chuck and you. Sorry you had to be apart.

Janet, Have fun at the fish fry!

Vicki & Janet, I am right there with you. :( Of the forty pounds I lost, I put back on 20. I've already lost 7 again but need to keep on track!! Work is my downfall, we can eat what is prepared for the kids but it's all what I call "kid crap" food, lol!! I need to pack my own.

Tammi, How did Nicholas' team make out yesterday?

Elin, thanks for sharing the video, beautiful!

Deb, I hope your dad is ok.

Bernadette, Hope the camping trip was a blast!!! Em's troop camp trip is in 2 weeks. Much less involved than it was last year. Looking forward to a laid back relaxing weekend.

Hello everyone

I had a eye doctor appointment today, and have progressed to trifocals.
Will have them in 7-10 days and then the ajustment begins.
:wizard:Good luck with progressives! I've had mine for almost 7 years and still don't love them. DH got used to his in about 5 minutes.

I thought you all might find this interesting. One of the "perks" of the conventions I attend is the amazing musical guests we get to enjoy. The convention committee outdid themselves this year, in my opinion. We had a group (that I mentioned in my post to Anne Marie) who sang sea shanteys and folk tunes. The gentleman in the video below is self taught. His degree is in English from William and Mary but his love is music. The instrument I filmed is the hammered dulcimer. He doesn't play it like any other artists I have ever seen and the sounds he got out of this instrument were gorgeous. He also played the bowed psalter, pennywhistles and bamboo flutes. He was amazing!

You might need to turn your volume up pretty high.
Very cool! Lizzy loved it too.

Her band teacher told her she needed private lessons for trumpet. He called DH to tell him she needed private lessons and saw me at the Memorial Day parade and told me she needed private lessons as she's a "natural". He gave us the name of a young man who does lessons-he's actually Emma's Kindergarten teacher's son. DH called him Thursday but he said he'd have to call back on Friday when he figures out his schedule. He's working at the sailing club this summer but thinks he'd be up for lessons after 5:30 pm this summer.

We're here and I only forgot a few things...like the vacuum and the matress for Hunter's bed  He could sleep in my parent's camper, but he didn't want to so we borrowed an egg crate from my Mom and he says he is comfy :confused3 Chris is sleeping. Who knew that he can't hold his vodka? He does fine with whiskey, tequila, but vodka knocks him on his ****:lmao: I had a mango margarita. I can't say that I'm fond of the taste of tequila, but it wasn't horrible.
I might have slept better with vodka.

So I had a Drs. appointment today, Jeff and the girls were originally not going to go. But we decided to go ahead and tell my mom today as the nausea is getting hard to hide. Was concerned Olivia would say something about my upset tummy. So we told Olivia this morning about the baby and we all went to the Drs. appt. Can I just say God must really have a sense of humor. We saw 2 heartbeats and 2 separate sacs.
:eek:WOW! I can imagine you're in shock!:hug: Does your Mom know about the twins?

Is your trip off?

I'm celebrating my 28th wedding anniversary alone. We were supposed to meet at my mom's for the week-end but Chuck got crazy busy with work. We are going to have a long week-end camping next week instead.
:hug:Sorry you won't be able to be together on the actual day but I'm sure you have a great time!

I managed to get all of my projects done that I took along camping. I've got 4 t-shirts ready to tie dye, Nick's party invites made out and Colby's pants shortened. We also played mini golf, shuffleboard and spent 2 hours at the pool. We had a few showers, but at least it wasn't a wash out.

My Dad fell out of my brother's camper before we arrived yesterday and he is in tremendous pain. I think he'll need to go to the doctor's when we get home tomorrow. I think I'll probably have to drive his truck and camper home tomorrow. I hope he heals before our trip.
:wizard:Hope your Dad heals quickly!

As for me :sad2::sad2: I wonder when the pain will ease? This really bites
:hug:I'm so sorry! Hope you find relief very soon!!

:wizard::wizard::wizard:You can do it!!!

We survived!!! It wasn't as bad as it could have been. I think the camp was less than 30 miles from our house. Friday night at home they got horrible thunder storms-wake up the dead type. We had a bit of thunder but no rain We had the thunder storms early Saturday morning-around 8am while we were doing breakfast-they had us all go to the dining hall for singing during the storm.

I think the girls all had a great time. I wasn't real happy with the facilities we had. They put us leaders in a tent a ways away from the girls, we had no kitchen shelter as expected and a few other minor issues. I think it was a great way to start the girls camping. There were 180 girls at the camp. They had activities during the day. Us leaders did training during the day so we are now "tent trained" so we can take the girls camping on our own now.

The girls were all great. They worked really well together! I think they loved last nights dinner. We made a fire and roasted hot dogs on a stick, did quesidias (sp?) in foil, and did pizza in tuna cans-using Pilsbury biscuits.

Lizzy is asleep.

Good Morning

Jennifer - Congratulations

Vicki - Happy Anniversary, I hope you have great time next weekend

Deb - I hope your Dad is better today

As for me :sad2::sad2: I wonder when the pain will ease? This really bites

:wizard:I'm sorry to hear that the pain hasn't subsided yet

My Dad was not better today though he did drive his camper home. He went to the emergency room this afternoon and thankfully there is nothing broken. Deep muscle injury. He said they gave him a shot in the butt and sent him home with Valium. He was told to keep moving as it will heal more quickly that way.

I'd love to see the new hairdo. We all had our hair cut this afternoon too, but just trims for all. I'm sure you can re lose the weight now that you've set your mind to it. It definitely is a lifestyle change and it is something that you have to think about all day everyday forever if you really want to keep it off. I've kept off the 60 lbs that I lost 5 years ago, but it is certainly a daily effort. I still have 10 that I want to lose, but I weigh the same today as I did on January 1st :headache: Chris is aiming for under 200 and he made it to 202, but he's stuck there.

Bernadette, Hope the camping trip was a blast!!! Em's troop camp trip is in 2 weeks. Much less involved than it was last year. Looking forward to a laid back relaxing weekend.
Hope you guys have a blast.

Our weekend was way too scheduled!!! We arrived Friday night did dinner, had a 7:00pm whole camp camfire. Saturday we spent an hour in the dining hall due to rain, got a bit of a late start to the 9am activities for the girls that went til noon, had 1 1/2 hour for lunch with the troop, afternoon activities til 4pm, dinner with the troop and evening activites with whole camp from 7:30 til 9pm. This morning closing ceremonies were at 9:00am.

I think we would better off on our own next time and maybe in a lodge-the girls didn't like the spiders in the tents.;)

Ouch! I hope that your dad heals quickly. Otherwise, sounds like a fun and productive weekent.
