Hope you guys have a blast.

Our weekend was way too scheduled!!! We arrived Friday night did dinner, had a 7:00pm whole camp camfire. Saturday we spent an hour in the dining hall due to rain, got a bit of a late start to the 9am activities for the girls that went til noon, had 1 1/2 hour for lunch with the troop, afternoon activities til 4pm, dinner with the troop and evening activites with whole camp from 7:30 til 9pm. This morning closing ceremonies were at 9:00am.

I think we would better off on our own next time and maybe in a lodge-the girls didn't like the spiders in the tents.;)

:scared1: That's not camping! :lmao:

I remember when I was in college and was an assistant Girl Scout Leader, we camped on a Lake Superior beach. It was rainy, nasty, cold and downright miserable. We couldn't get warm or dry. Just imagine wet sand everywhere. The leader was a brilliant woman but was also nuts. She refused to adjust any plans. I wonder to this day whether those girls ever camped again. It was the most miserable day & night of my life. I grew up camping and it almost turned me off to it permanently.

Vicki - I'd like to see your new hairdo too. Mine needs a cut and color as well.

Deb - glad your dad doesn't have any serious injuries.

Robyn - good to see you posting. Nicholas' team lost the semifinal. They played their hearts out in the 100+ heat. A huge reason they lost is that they only had one sub, so they were exhausted. The other team had 5.

Bernadette - sounds like your weekend went better that you expected. I don't think I could handle camping.

We got chased out of the pool by thunder after a little more than an hour. By the time we got home there was a tornado warning for our area. As I was monitoring the weather on TV and through the windows the kids were getting very nervous. After the storm passed Nicholas thanked me for taking care of them.

thanks for the quotable!

Sorry to hear about the loss

Jennifer (Bear) called and left me a message on Friday sounding very anxious...by the time I got back to her while not sounding over the moon she did sound excited about the babies...heck if you have to get all new baby stuff why not get multiples?

We had a severe thunderstorm and tornado warning yesterday afternoon at the campground. They came around and warned everyone. Colby was really worried. All I could think of was Mater saying "happier than a tornado in a trailer park" :rotfl: Thankfully the storm passed north of us. We had a tornado warning at home last week. It seems like there are way more warnings than I ever remember in the past :confused3

We're totally excited about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter :cool1: It looks totally amazing. Can't wait

I managed to get all of my projects done that I took along camping. I've got 4 t-shirts ready to tie dye, Nick's party invites made out and Colby's pants shortened. We also played mini golf, shuffleboard and spent 2 hours at the pool. We had a few showers, but at least it wasn't a wash out.

My Dad fell out of my brother's camper before we arrived yesterday and he is in tremendous pain. I think he'll need to go to the doctor's when we get home tomorrow. I think I'll probably have to drive his truck and camper home tomorrow. I hope he heals before our trip.

oh no Deb, I hope your dad heals fast.

I was disappointed with the special. I was hoping for more footage of US and less of the movies. But excited for it nonetheless!

:laughing:I know that. I didn't sleep much this weekend because neither the girls or their leaders were crazy about the tents. And while there were flush potties they were buggy and that freaked out a few. I just think a lodge would be easier. The girl scouts have a property on Nantucket that sounds cool but they only have platform tents, water pump, and pit toilet.:rotfl:

yes we told her the response we got was thats all yall need is another baby and twins, yes the trip is off.
:hug:Sounds like your Mom is in shock too. Sorry your trip is off.

:wizard:I'm sorry to hear that the pain hasn't subsided yet

My Dad was not better today though he did drive his camper home. He went to the emergency room this afternoon and thankfully there is nothing broken. Deep muscle injury. He said they gave him a shot in the butt and sent him home with Valium. He was told to keep moving as it will heal more quickly that way.

I'd love to see the new hairdo. We all had our hair cut this afternoon too, but just trims for all. I'm sure you can re lose the weight now that you've set your mind to it. It definitely is a lifestyle change and it is something that you have to think about all day everyday forever if you really want to keep it off. I've kept off the 60 lbs that I lost 5 years ago, but it is certainly a daily effort. I still have 10 that I want to lose, but I weigh the same today as I did on January 1st :headache: Chris is aiming for under 200 and he made it to 202, but he's stuck there.

I'm glad your dad's injury isn't too bad. Hope it heals quickly! I am due for a cut and color SOON. The grey is horrible. Just keep at it Deb! I am back at it today.

Hope you guys have a blast.

So you had a camp training squeezed in there! Wow!

Our girls have practiced setting up and taking down their own tent. They know how to build and start a fire. This trip is all about them and letting them pretty much do it on their own. They've planned their own menus and will be in charge of the cooking. My co-leader owns a boat and the campground has a boat launch so we will be fishing. The girls are very, very excited!! I love our group of girls this year. We still only have 6 but everyone is related. It's Em and Alyssa (my niece), Co-leader's daughter and stepdaughter, and one girl from last year along with her cousin. No more drama with the 2 girls who were causing all the trouble last year as they found another troop!! This group works together really well, even if they are a bit silly!! Hoping we can get one more year together with all of them. :goodvibes

Deb - glad your dad doesn't have any serious injuries.

Thanks, Tammi. I swear after 3 1/2 months of work, I still haven't adjusted to my new schedule, lol! And it's been crazy busy here with all the end of year stuff. We go to the end of the month with scouts. I can't wait for Mo's troop to end, it's been a long year getting that up and running. And Mo is now doing competitive cheer. So that's 2 nights a week- 1 hour on Monday and 2 hours on Wednesday nights. She is doing it with Dana's oldest so it'll be a lot of fun, even if it will cost a fortune! Their competition schedule is brutal. But she is loving it and she needs something that helps her with her confidence.

We got chased out of the pool by thunder after a little more than an hour. By the time we got home there was a tornado warning for our area. As I was monitoring the weather on TV and through the windows the kids were getting very nervous. After the storm passed Nicholas thanked me for taking care of them.

My girls were in our pool and then a friend's almost all day. Until the storm rolled through.

How sweet of Nicholas!!! :goodvibes I love that he appreciates all you do for them!!!!

Good Morning. The sun is finally shining. It's been a while since we've had clear skies:goodvibes. I slept fairly well last night so I am definitely in a better mood today. I think I'll start off by rinsing out the tie dye shirts that I put in the dye yesterday. Hopefully they'll come out well and I'll be able to cross that off my to do list. Of course laundry can always be run too.

Good morning!

It's a nice peaceful day here today. I don't have any babies this week and Kristi's kids won't be over until later today. Same goes for tomorrow. Wed morning we're headed down to Branson for two days and then to OK for the weekend.

I think that today we're going to hit the library and the mall, but mostly work on cleaning up the dining room and playroom while I'm more available to help. I really want to get Terra rashguard type shirt and swim shorts for theme parks and park trips (most of the ones we go to have spray fountains during the summer). I was all set to get some at Target and finally went to do it yesterday and ours is out of everything except one set of shorts. I thought we'd try Children's Place, Penny's and another Target today. If we don't have any luck, I guess it wasn't meant to be.
