DDA Chapter 24

If I book directly with US, it's 750 for 3 nights. Then 3 park tickets, if I can still get them for 99, that totals 1050. So buying paying an additional 150 I get all the transfers for the 3 of us and don't have to worry about a rental, parking or towncar service. That just seems high to me for 3 nights and 2.5 days. I guess I'm DVC spoiled.

In case Deb doesn't make it back right away, I think they are there 3 nights.
I saw that after I typed it. My brain is swirling with numbers now.

Your AAA rate isn't available now. You got a steal!

I know the feeling! I was updating my spreadsheets last night with various Dec options and pricings. By the time I was done, I could barely remember what anything meant, the numbers were flying around my brain so much.

I understand the whole sticker shock. That's how I feel about going to SeaWorld for one day. It will be $500 for the five of us for 1 day with parking. That isn't even food. I'm not buying tickets ahead of time and hoping that Colby is having so much fun that he forgets about SeaWorld;)

I'm about ready to scrap the whole idea and stay a WDW snob. The only reason I would pay that much for a resort is for their express line thingy. I think I need to research that some more and see if it is really needed. Maybe in slow season it doesn't matter so much and we could go then. It would make much more sense for me just to get a DVC room at WDW for 3 nights, as our passes would still be valid. But I thought it would be nice to try something new. So....3 nights/days at Disney for nothing or 3 nights/days at US for 1200????? Seems like a no brainer, huh?

why don't you price out just adding in the express passes and spend the day there....this is what we did in November. We had a blast. If you can make it work...I'd go

So you can purchase an express pass and then not have to stay at their resort? I didn't know that. Thanks!

yes...and the price depends on the time of year. You can just buy them at the park or online...you could do 1 park and if you find it to crowded buy them for just the 2nd park. Worth looking into at least

...but its only good for one time per ride - when you stay onsite you can go go on a ride repeatedly.

yes...but if you are only visiting for the day to do 2 parks, it's not that likely that you will need to go multiple times on one ride.

half the time, the didn't even scan the pass

Thanks for all the advice. I'll look into it. Also, if we stay onsite DVC on the front side of our cruise, I'll use weekend points. If we stay on the back side of the cruise, it would be Sun-Wed. I'd rather do US first, but for half the points after is better.

And that is why we have never ventured off Disney property! Add in the rental cars and the fact that in the past I would have needed insurance on those cars, plus the kids I had with me not riding the more adventurous things and it just wasn't worth the big cost.

so we have had our first week of cookie sales here. Olivia set her goal for 50 boxes. We have sold about 30 boxes just at my work and to close family.

Thanks Becky!!!!! I looked at airfare this morning and it was horrid. I looked this evening and it was back to the rate you got! So I booked it!!

Non stop Phl to Barcelona! Woo Hoo!. We're not going until the next day, so we won't see you until we get to Spain! Woo!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I love this board.:dance3::dance3::dance3::cool1:

Good morning. :)

I so did not want to get out of bed this morning.

Good Morning

Sorry to have been MIA, real life has been busy. We finally got Aubrey better, poor little thing had a rough time of it.

My youngest is now 24 and my oldest has a birthday next weekend, we have a birthday party today for our great nephew. January is a busy month for birthdays in the family, my inlaws have 2 children, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren all in January.

Glynis - Sorry I missed your birthday, I hope you had a wonderful time on your "do over"

Please add our family friend Nadine to your prayers, she lost her husband about a year ago, and was in Birmingham last weekend for her MIL's funeral when her 48 year old SIL had a massive heart attack, her sister was with her visiting him in the hospital, they went back to her daughter's house for a rest, her sister said she wasn't feeling well and laid down on the couch, she had a heart attack and died, that same afternoon her SIL also died. So she has now lost her husband, MIL, sister and SIL, I don't know how they are going to manage but my heart breaks for them.

I've been trudging away on my home improvement projects, I spent most of the day yesterday installing closet organizers in the two rooms that have been completed, I donated three large bags of clothes out of one closet and it is still full, tells me it was way overdue, I have one more closet to go through for me and Richie can do his own I'm sure we'll be getting rid of that much or more from those.

We finally set the dates for our anniversary trip, we will be arriving July 21st and departing July 31st. We are also thinking of taking a side trip to Universal but if we do it will be a one day trip.

I'm trying to hold out until July and save the money for that trip since it's a longer "special" trip, but Richie says he just can't wait that long to go back, lol, we'll see what happens.
