When it rains it pours.....we get to go find a new home phone...our old one just completely died!

It died while I was finishing up a conversation with my mom...my uncle that lives here in town has been diagnosed with terminal (less than a year to live) lung cancer.

Tammi - was it you who was wondering about the redbox? I noticed that our "redboxes" in the Walmart's around here are all blue, but they are red everywhere else. I'm wondering if that's part of the agreement with Walmart. Stay safe in all that snow!

Elizabeth - Hooray for the tickets! DS is going to be so excited!!! Good luck with the cable box!

Anne Marie - I'm so incredibly jealous!!!

We just found out that a good friend of ours was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He's not doing so well, so Alan and I are going to go visit with him and his family. I've made some goodies for them, but it's going to be a depressing visit nonetheless! After that, we've got some Santa stuff to do and then a movie. Talk about a date night! Alan and I haven't done anything just the two of us for about a month, so I'm thrilled!

I have to speak in church tomorrow, so that's making me a bit nervous, but once it's over, I'll be glad I did it.

I'm at my sisters setting up their laptops. They have had some issues with them. That was the main purpose for my visit - to get them all straghtened out.

I know that some of you have mentioned free anti-virus software that you like. Can you tell me them again? That is part of the problem. The anti-virus software that I had on here expired and they didn't get notified to renew. Of course, that means they have viruses! I want to avoid that happening again. Thanks.

Good morning.

I see shoveling in my future. We've been getting snow since 6:30 PM yesterday. Probably about 8 inches out there now. The kids will enjoy playing in it, but I don't like it. We hardly ever get snow (maybe one or 2 days a year), which spoils me for when we do get it. They are saying this will set a record for the amount of snow in December. The old record was 11 inches, set in 1932.

AVAST! is a good anti-virus, but I actually find superantispyware to be the best.

That must be it because the ones at other stores are still red. At least as far as I know.

Thank you. I would be happy if it just didn't snow on my driveway. I've shoveled 3x so far today and will probably do it at least 2 more before bed. The next time I go out I'll take a picture with my lights lit. That should be really pretty.

DH and DS have gone BACK to the Time Warner cable place because the cord they gave us doesn't fit the box they gave us. I told you guys this was not going to go well. And so far, I am RIGHT! We also bought a new DVD player because the old one is still stuck shut. Of course the plugs/cords for that are different than the one we have, so that is also going to be an issue. That, and the fact that I told DS he is NOT NOT NOT to put the demo disc that is currently stuck in the old DVD player into the new one IF we ever get it out. Now he is all mad. EXCUSE ME? Of all the requests I COULD make, I thought that was pretty reasonable.

Whatever.

My brother Joe, godfather to my 3 children, the one who gave me away at my wedding, was struck and killed by a car tonight.

Bernadette, I am so sorry to hear this.

Tammi-your house is wonderfully, tastefully decorated. Beautiful. My mom said that finally they (they live near Robyn) have more snow than us. I am betting your snow is heavier than ours usually is. We are hoping for a smattering of snow for Christmas.
