It's very dark & dreary here & they are expecting slight snow tonight..Geez, did we bring down the cold weather from NY?:lmao:

Happy Saturday. Looking forward to hearing more from our December travelers.

Good morning, DDA!

Well, I survived my first night of work. My back was aching by halfway through my shift, but hopefully that will be short lived as I get used to it. Either that or I need to remember to take some ibuprofen before going in. The nice thing is that they've changed things since I last worked there 10+ years ago. Now, cashiers leave at closing if that's what they are scheduled until instead of having to help "zone" the store. I was out by 11:10 when I was expecting at least 11:30 or even 12:00.

Today, is all Terra's! No work. No extra kids. We are headed to pick up Phil's paycheck in a little bit and run and errand or two, but after that it's a Christmasy day. We're headed to the mall for some Christmas shopping, lunch at Macaroni Grill with my MyPoints gift card, Terra's going to do that jumpy thing (trampoline things with harnesses) and then I don't know what. She's dying to get started so I guess I'd better get dressed. Of course, nothing is open yet. Actually, they probably are for holiday hours, aren't they.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Good morning!!

Hope everyone in WDW has a magical time, despite the weather. Em's best friend and her dad are there as well. They spent the day at Epcot yesterday and had a blast. Today they are headed to HS. Maybe they will run into the DDA gang!

Even though I've been reading along my brain is not functioning. So :wizard:and 's all around.

Deb- Hunter and the rest of you are constantly on my mind. One moment at a time and remember to breathe.'s

We are celebrating Em's birthday tonight with a small group of family & friends tonight. Just ice cream cake (my own daughter did not want one of my cakes,:sad2:. I must say, though, I am secretly happy that I DON'T have to make one.) and letting the kids just spend time together. Simple and easy.

Tomorrow I want to get the tree up. Hopefully, the girls & I can accomplish that. I also need to finish my research paper that is due Monday night. I also want to start baking cookies. But maybe that's too ambitious. :rolleyes1

I keep having that thought too!

Happy birthday, Emma!!

There is a big article on Allears that tells about the expansion and Star Tours. They also have artist renderings of what it should look like. This news was released back in September at the D23 Expo. Maybe you missed the chatter about it. :confused3

Here's a link if anyone is interested. Scroll about halfway down to find it.

http://land.allears.net/blogs/dnews/2009/09/

I heard the chatter but I didn't think it was confirmed.

We haven't gotten ours yet.

Chuck got our Disney Files magazine from DVC today. I was surprised not to hear any of you talking about the news. He says that Star Tours is shutting down in October of 2010 and Star Tours 2 is opening in 2011. He says they are also doubling Fantasy Land in size. The largest expansion in the 40 years or something like that. It sounds like there are some cool changes for Dumbo. There are pictures in the flyer. I can't wait to get home to see more info.

I am staying in Lansing this weekend and will be working most of it. However, I have decided to go do some window shopping for a couple of hours. I need to be good and spend little or no money.

Today is a very Christmasy day here! Alan and Jacob are putting up the Christmas lights right now, and then we'll start putting up the second tree. Once it's up, the kids will decorate that one, while I decorate the Disney tree. We decided to move the Disney tree downstairs where Timothy can't get at it. The other tree has no breakable ornaments, so that's the one that will be up where Timothy roams freely.

After that, I'm working on another batch of cinnamon rolls to leave behind. I leave at dark thirty tomorrow morning, so I want to have something yummy to leave behind.

If we get everything done, we'll try to do something fun as a family this afternoon, window shopping, or something.

I'll check back later to say good bye!

We are, but not when it first opens. We'll see it eventually, though.

see I can't decide weather to see it at the theater or just wait till it comes out on DVD cause I know we will buy it. Not sure how Virginia will do at the theater.

Guests eating at select quick service locations in the theme parks between 12/2/09 - 12/15/09 may have a coupon attached to their receipt good for 20% off a purchase at participating merchandise stores between the hours of 9 am-12 pm.

Participating merchandise locations include: Magic Kingdom's Emporium, Epcot's Mouse Gear, Disney’s Hollywood Studios' Mickey's of Hollywood, Disney's Animal Kingdom's Island Mercantile, and Downtown Disney's World of Disney Store. Certain restrictions may apply.

So if you are going to WDW or are there look for the coupons on your receipt.

Happy Birthday Walt Disney!

so we are low on clinical assistants today, so I am running the desk at work. right now I am a bit bored. Just answering call lights and ordering labs. Will have a couple of charts to put together later.

For us, it's a matter of cost. For all of us to go to the movie theater is really expensive! We'll take the kids when it comes to the dollar theater where we can afford seats, and a treat. It works for us. The kids know they'll get to see it, and luckily, it's coming out this month, when we've got a lot of other activities planned, so they don't feel like they're missing out.

Last time we took all the kids to a movie...before it was over...we spent $100!! Granted, it was a more upscale theater...and everyone ate something...but still!!
