Thank you Elin and Marci for the Christmas cards.

I finally found somewhere for my kids to get H1N1 shots! Our pediatrician did not carry them at all. Our local health department was out & then when they did get them in, I couldn't get an appointment. I haven't told the kids yet...Katie does not do to well with shots. :rolleyes1

Hello DDA!

Deb - Hope the appointments went well this morning. Love the ornaments!

Theresa - Hope the the interview went well! If nothing else, it will be a place to start while you continue looking.

Amy - I think my baking will be pared down too. I still plan to make fudge and oreo truffle balls, but otherwise just sugar cookies. If someone wants more, they can help or do it themselves. (We're already having issues with some wanting to pare down Christmas Day and others not wanting to mess with "tradition". The problem is that those that don't want the changes are the ones that don't really help with anything. Hopefully, nothing more will be said or I've already decided that I will simply invite them to provide 80% of the food and work to prepare and clean up if they want to keep things the same.)

Beth - Hope Miles doesn't get to warm. I know that I probably would. You would think that as long as he wasn't wearing shorts or a short shirt or just a windbreaker they could leave it to the parents and child to work out the best choices.

Anne Marie - Hope you're feeling better! Glad you got the shots figured out finally.

Tammy - Looks like a great party!

Sorry to post and run everyone! I spent most of the day so far working on getting our house ready for grandma and aunt visit this weekend. Then I had to run to the insurance agency to make sure our car insurance was covered before getting kids off of the bus. Now I've got to get dinner going soon as Mom will take Kassie and Terra to Rachel's concert with her and I've got to take the other two to Kristi's friend so that I can work 7-midnight. All this before tomorrow's fun filled adventures of Dr Appt-grocery store-dance class-field trip-dance class all to be followed up by a big crash on the couch as soon as Mom's Girl Scouts finish their Christmas party. Who's great idea was this anyway? Oh yeah, it wasn't a choice. My biggest hope is that Phil will get really frustrated with my being gone and renew efforts to find something else. Well, that and that my charges mom will find a new job soon! She came by this afternoon and has another interview tomorrow afternoon (unfortunately, I can't babysit because of the field trip). I know that she's getting as desperate as I am so I hope this is it!

Honestly, that would irritate me...

Great picture, Jennifer and Elin!

I'm seeing red at the moment, and I know that it's a little thing that I should just let go. Miles came home and said that the lunch monitors told him that he needed a heavier coat or he'd have to go to lunch detention. His coat is fleece-lined and has a waterproof exterior. It's not his heaviest coat, but it is warmer than a light jacket. He was also wearing a long-sleeved thermal shirt today. He said that he was plenty warm at recess and on the walk to/from school. It was 25-degrees when he left the house this morning and over 30-degrees by recess time. I'm not neglectful. He does own a warmer coat, but he doesn't want that one yet. He would be too warm in a heavy winter coat. We're saving that for the 0-20 degree days that are coming. I don't want him to have to go to lunch detention, so I guess he'll have to wear the heavier coat. I can't believe that the lunch monitors and school can override a parent's judgment on something like this. UGH!

Why can't schools mind their own business. Our kids have to wear snow pants and boots in order to go outside for recess.

We also got cards from Elin and Marci. Thank you too

Hunter's appointments went very well today. The surgeon was reassuring in that she really doesn't think that it is cancer and she feels that he will not develop future tumors. We then did the pre op stuff. We met with Anesthesia and worked out a plan. Hunter will be able to sleep through the MRI, IV insertion and the surgery. This was such a relief for Hunter. He has been more worried about the IV then the surgery so going to sleep via gas, get the IV, MRI then he may or may not be awakened before Surgery depending on the time frame. Surgery will last 4-5 hours. We'll get more exact times on Thursday. For now, Hunter seems much less anxious then he has in weeks.

We have a lot of people who want updates throughout our journey. I am thinking that maybe I should use twitter. I know Kristine Tweets, does anyone else? Would that be a good way to update a large group of people?

Im glad the appointments today made Hunter feel a bit better about everything. I remember for my first surgery, i was like hunter and more afraid of the IV than anything else.

I opened a twitter account. If anyone cares to follow it on Friday I think you'll need to get an account, my username is Vermontmomof3
