Good morning. :)

The team that I was cheering for won the Amazing Race last night. They deserved it more than the other 2 teams, IMO.

Good morning, even though we did get snow last night :santa:

Good morning, DDA! Hope everyone has a great week!

Tammi, nice job on Nicholas' cake and the party looks like it was a blast, too! That's one of my favorite Family Fun designs...I made it for Matty's 2nd birthday. :)

Debbie, welcome home!

Deb, really neat ornaments!

Glynis, I hope you're having a great trip visiting your new nephew!

Still no trees up around here, but knowing it's going to be a year of trying to keep Noah away from the ornaments, I'm not too upset about that. Kevin performed in the Christmas Drama at church yesterday and the kids' pageant is this coming Sunday. I'm supposed to donate 6 dozen cookies to the church's cookie walk on Friday, which means I better get my act together. I think I'm only going to bake one kind of cookie this year, my cut-outs, and lots of them.

Meanwhile, there are lots of non-holiday-related things going on this week (Kevin has council, I have MOPS, etc.), so as usual, life is one big juggling act! :)

Well I have been fighting this off but now I am sure I have the flu. or a really bad bug. All the typical symptoms but not weak enough that I can't function. There's so much to do here with a week and a half to Disney & finishing up some Christmas details.

Good morning, DDA!

Our tree went up yesterday, and it smells like Christmas in here! Artificial pine scents and pine-scented cleaners are guaranteed to give me a migraine. I am so glad that natural pine doesn't. :santa:

Tammi, terrific cake! It looked like a really fun birthday party.

Ann Marie, pixiedust: Feel better quickly!

Deb, cute ornaments! We have a bunch of Sculpey here, so I think I have an activity for us to do.

I need to go make a list of things to do today. I've been trying to keep it in my head, but I seem to forget too much these days.

Have a great day, DDA!

Anne Marie hope you are feeling better soon :wizard:

We were cheering for them too :goodvibes Nicholas' party looked awesome. My boys would love a party like that.

:wizard:I'm sure being outside for the party yesterday didn't help. :wizard::wizard: The good news is you have time to get over it before your disney trip.

Thanks for all the compliments on the ornaments. It is a great project for the family. I even did it with Colby's class. The ones that I posted here had a bottle cap center. Those are scrapbooking accessories that I got at Joann's. We have also found that if you use a little food grater and grate crayons, then take the little filings and sprinkle them over the oraments before you bake them it gives a cool decorated or tie dye look :thumbsup2 Just do yourself a favor and put parchment paper on your cookie sheet as the crayon that misses the ornaments will melt onto your cookie sheet.

We're off to a bunch of doctor's appointments this morning.

Tammi what a great birthday for Nicholas, great job on the cake!

Deb I love your ornaments, are you taking orders ;)

Debbie welcome back!

Glad Elizabeth's luggage was found. I am really glad I was not the person working that day :rolleyes1

Anne Marie glad you all had fun even it you were freezing lol

Kristine I'm not sure if I should feel sorry for Bill or you :rotfl:

thanks for the dittoable!!:thumbsup2

Good morning. :)

The team that I was cheering for won the Amazing Race last night. They deserved it more than the other 2 teams, IMO.

After our real favorite teams were eliminated (the autistic one and his friend & the Globetrotters) those 2 were the only ones who we were rooting for. They played the game well and honestly. The brothers were icky (what poor sports:headache:) and Team "Zebra" had a whiny element that we didn't like.

I still can't find the Christmas spirit but I will try and get the living room ready for us to put up the Christmas tree on Wednesday. We have one concert tomorrow night and 2 on Thursday (Jim will go to one and I will go to the other)...and than I think we are done with concerts for the season.

oh no :wizard:that you get better fast and no one else gets sick

So I just got called for an interview....in 2 and a half hours!!:eek:It's at the Dollar Tree store....so I need to figure out what to wear....not the perfect job but a job nonetheless.

Theresa a friend of mine worked at a Dollar Tree & worked her way up to management quickly. She made decent money & had benefits. Good luck :goodvibes

pixiedust: Much luck, Theresa!!! I agree with Janet. You just need to get in the door, and I am sure that they will see that you are someone to move up. So even if it's not the perfect job to start, you can make it work!

Hello DDA! I just wanted to pop in and post a long overdue picture :)

IMG_0048_4.jpg

Here Elin has come and gone on another trip and I'm finally getting October stuff posted - that's not like me  I did finally finish my trip report, but only on the blog. I just don't have time right now to follow up with one on the DIS, but if you're interested in reading it, these are just the trip entries. There's also our photo album, but even pared down tremendously it has ~750 pictures

Deb, your family continues to be in my prayers as Hunter's surgery approaches. Ridiculously cute ornaments, by the way!

I hope everyone else is finding some holiday spirit, enjoying time with your families, and staying as warm as possible! :goodvibes

Great picture, Jennifer and Elin!

I'm seeing red at the moment, and I know that it's a little thing that I should just let go. Miles came home and said that the lunch monitors told him that he needed a heavier coat or he'd have to go to lunch detention. His coat is fleece-lined and has a waterproof exterior. It's not his heaviest coat, but it is warmer than a light jacket. He was also wearing a long-sleeved thermal shirt today. He said that he was plenty warm at recess and on the walk to/from school. It was 25-degrees when he left the house this morning and over 30-degrees by recess time. I'm not neglectful. He does own a warmer coat, but he doesn't want that one yet. He would be too warm in a heavy winter coat. We're saving that for the 0-20 degree days that are coming. I don't want him to have to go to lunch detention, so I guess he'll have to wear the heavier coat. I can't believe that the lunch monitors and school can override a parent's judgment on something like this. UGH!
