We are back. We met with the VP, & the teacher. I asked for the vp to be there. It got rather emotional for me but I only "let go" once.

Dana kept tapping my leg to tell me to calm down.

Anyway the deal is my DD does not have to dance & there is no connection between the dancing & Spanish. The teacher said it was just "fun" for the kids & that no one else complained. She will not take anything away from her participation grade & she apologized to Katie for raising her voice & her abrupt mannerism.

Dana & I are satisfied with this & hope things will go more smoothly from here going forward.

I think having the VP there was brilliant. Obviously the teacher was wrong, but that results may have been much different had you not made that move. I wonder what the vp or more importantly schoolboard will think about using schooltime for an activity that has nothing to do with education:rolleyes:

Anne Marie - I'm glad that is over for you and that you are satisfied with the outcome. Hopefully Katie will still be able to enjoy the class. Also, :wizard: for your mom.

Now, start on that packing and have a wonderful vacation!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Tammi, I will pack tomorrow & I am just blocking out the last few weeks & will focus on time with my family & having fun.

Thanks Deb. The VP knew in detail about the threats that the bully made to her & I thought he'd be able to convey the turmiol Katie has been in since the bullying started. I also thought she be on her toes if he was there which was the case. Even as she pleaded her case she made no sense to me but at least we got an apology & the teacher understands that we do not take anything lying down when it comes to our children. Don't yell at my kids, that's MY job!;)

Ann Marie sorry your mom is having health issues.

Yay for a good outcome with the teacher.

I need to present my budget in 3 hours.
Hope it went well. Our presentation of the 2010 budget to the president was yesterday. We still need to work on a long range plan and packet to send to the board of directors.......

This morning is bowling! I love having the "me" time every Friday. Alan is going to take care of Timothy, so I don't even have to deal with that! When I get home, I'm going to make some pumpkin cookies for one of my Webelos scouts. He has the swine flu and had to miss pack meeting last night. He earned a badge, so I'll take that over to him, as well.

Tonight Alan and I are going out with friends of ours. We will have dinner at Zupa's cafe, and then go from there. Carol and I have some stuff we'll try to talk the boys into, but who knows?

Tomorrow we are getting together with Alan's best friend from high school. We are taking the kids to Hill Air Force Base where there is a museum of aircraft. That should be really cool! Then we're going to try to do some apple picking, and head to a pumpkin patch. Should be a fun filled weekend. So, if I'm not around much, you'll know where I am!

Have a great Friday, everyone!
Sound like a fun weekend!

Hopefully we are on the upswing now.
:wizard:Hope he continues to improve!!!:wizard:

glad it worked out!

Anne Marie glad to hear that all was taken care of at the school today.

Jen enjoy them jello shots :thumbsup2 Your outfit is really cute & looks great on you!

I've been a bit of a crank today. I went to Sears to return some things I purchsed online a Land's End, Lizzy Land's End backpack that broke and replacement backpack that Lizzy didn't like. I went to the Land End's desk and the young clerk there told me in a snotty tone that I should go elsewhere. So I went to a regular cashier who was very pleasant and seemed quite knowledgeable. With each return they gave me about 5 coupons. Then I hit nasty construction traffic trying to return to my office which didn't improve my mood any. Then I'm looking at all the receipts from Sears and I have a return slip from each return but I also have this slip that says "return declined". It has an 800 number on it so I call that and am told to return to the store so I ask why does this slip tell me to call you? She puts me on hold forever and eventially comes back and tells me to go back to the store. I do have a slip that says they will credit my Visa so I'm hoping the "decline" slip was printed first and then the clerk got it to go through. I can't face that traffic tonight so I think I'll wait til Monday and hopefully by then the credit will already be on my Visa.

I HAVE to work on the girls Halloween costumes this weekend!!!!! It supposed to rain again.

Jen did I miss the outfit?

I just sewed up 3 custom sling covers for Hunter. He picked out fabric yesterday. He has one that has flames on it, one with skulls (for Halloween) and one that is a light blue which he can have his friends sign. He's pretty pleased with them:thumbsup2

The IT guy at work was doing a password audit. He noticed that one of the blondes had an extremely long password. He asked her about it: "Why are you using the password MickeyMinnieDonaldGoofyPlutoDaisyHueyDeweyLouie?"

The blonde responded...

The password needed to be at least 8 characters long

Can anyone tell me in layman's terms, how to change a shower head?
Someone gave us one of those waterfall shower heads, but John has been busy with computer work for the past couple of weeks he hasn't been able to change it yet.

You should just have to unscrew the old head and screw on the new one. You might need a pipe wrench to do the job. Tefelon tape around the threads of the new one wouldn't hurt either.

Nope, I'm not the Packing Czar. I could never do as good of a job as Elizabeth does. ;)

Tammi :wizard: for your cat.
Vicki :wizard:for Katrina
Ann Marie :wizard: for Katie
Janet :wizard:for the cats and :hug:for your niece and family

:wizard:to everyone else. It seems that life is throwing us all curves right now.

I'm off to work shortly. I have to get out a bit early as I need to get home to help Hunter get dresses then get the boys to their yearly checkups. I'm also working at 4 PM so this day should be pretty well shot. Hunter is currently sleeping peacefully so I've decided not to wake him for meds. I hope this is the right decision and that he doesn't wake in too much pain. Chris will give him meds when he gets up in a few hours.

??? Huh? Why is Hunter getting dresses? :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Anne Marie - sounds like you and Dana presented a solid line of argument and there was nothing the teacher could say to defend herself. Good for you!

Get packing, girl!

Stephanie good luck with the budget :wizard:

Anne Marie good luck with the school :wizard:

:wizard::wizard:That everyone finds time to themselves, it seems that life is spiraling out of control for many these days, myself included:wizard::wizard:

I spent a couple of hours on the phone between last night and now, trying to figure out what was going on with the 8th grade Haunted House fundraiser. It turns out that everyone thought that someone else was organizing and NO ONE has organized anything. Since it is supposed to happen in one week, it looks like it will be cancelled. I can't imagine how anyone (if anyone is actually willing at this point) could pull off sets, props, costumes, lights and music for a community haunted house. The Rec Dept thought that the guidance counselor and a parent had things underway, the parent thought the rec dept was doing everything and the Guidance councelor can't organize a thought so I'm not sure where he fit in :confused3 In any event I've explained that parents cannot be expected to find out sometime next week that they need to provide a specific costume for their child. I know that I don't have time. I'm sure some of the kids will be disappointed, but seriously we are a week away from Halloween. The rec dept also expected the kids would do it on Friday and Saturday night, but apparently some of the kids plan to go trick or treating (even though they are 8th graders :confused3)

Tomorrow we have bowling in the morning, Hunter will go and watch. Tomorrow is his birthday, but we don't have any plans since we aren't sure how he'll be feeling. He does seem much better last night and this morning. Hopefully we are on the upswing now.

Katrina trick or treated in 8th grade. My best friends and I went with our kids together. It was always a great time spending time altogether walking around one of my friends neighborhoods. I think they both stopped going when they reached high school.
