Tell me about it, and I just broke John's heart more by telling him our washing machine has been making funky noises.

that repairs stop soon!
Perhaps I shouldn't feel so bad that I will be missing Nicholas' game today. It's raining and is supposed to continue all afternoon.
That's the game to miss.

I'm sorry that you have to miss his game, though. That would be very hard.
That is very cool! (And I think you are getting younger and younger...no fair!)
Good Evening All!!!
Here are pictures from tonight:
Cassidy's fancy shoes

Beautiful! Our homecoming is next weekend, but it's not formal at all, and Laura has no interest in the game or the dance.
Ok, this is going to sound fake, but I sincerely didn't realize that was you in the one picture. I was wondering why you didn't make note of who that friend was. Everyone looks great! (But, oh my, those dresses are SHORT.)
Liked the Homecoming photos, Theresa and Janet.
Please don't take this the wrong way, because I am truly just asking... Janet - are those dresses as short as they look? And is that the style that is being worn these days? And, by the way, I feel REALLY old asking that!!
Those seem short to me, too! Of course, we seem to be a family of prudes. Laura won't attend any more dances, because she was extremely uncomfortable with the type of dancing going on (just about everyone according to her, not just a few).
Nice pics everyone!
Short dresses are in big time. This is from Jackie's last dance. I was happy I got her to wear something this long...(she is the purple kid in the middle)
Yes, but overall, those dresses are that short. I think that they all look like a nice length except for the purple one on the right. (As Laura would say, "Ooops! Someone forgot her pants!") The zebra print is pushing it a tad, maybe.
when I saw the dresses I had the same thought.....but I am an old fogey.
Janet-they are cute girls!! and Garrett is handsome (Cassidy told me that not everybody takes 100 pictures every time they take pics

...I told her I only took 50 this time

and I wouldn't have gotten some of those great candids if I had limited myself).
Are you sure that everyone doesn't take at least 100 pictures every time? That seems a little low to me.

Thanks for all the congrats for Brandon.
We've made some good progress arond here but are not done yet, the yard is done and most of the house is done, I have one bedroom left and of course laundry is not done, I don't think it ever is.
Looks like I may be meeting Elin with a black eye, I walked right into a shelf in the bedroom and it hit me in the right eye, hard enough to knock me to my knees and bust open the eyelid. No stitches were required but advil definitely was, we'll see how it goes.
I haven't started any packing yet, but for the weekend only it really isn't a big deal. We've got a pretty busy week before we leave but that's nothing unusual either.
Ok, I'd better get back to work
Ow!

that it heals quickly! (and that you don't have to keep answering questions about it)
I thought those dresses were too short, too. But what do I know?
Debbie, your poor eye! That sounds REALLY painful!
It's my favorite time of year. Science Fair.

DS brought home this huge, evil packet. I HATE HATE HATE HATE Science Fair. And the school now has an "unacceptable" rating for science test scores, so they are REALLY pushing the science curriculum. The Science Fair is just stupid, though. The kids do the same, boring projects from the same books and websites year after year. Everybody knows the really GOOD projects are done by parents, and the judges do not enforce the rules when they judge the submissions. DS started doing projects in SECOND GRADE! He gets it! He knows the scietific method! And we are completely out of ideas. So whatever.

Science fair = UGH!
I can see the normal for you....I am talking pictures not casual (Like I see yours as) more like staged, like at a wedding. Of course, last night Julia's mom took a picture of her hair.

Maybe it's just these nutty parents.
I've taken pictures of hair before.

One of my favorite shots from the 8th grade social would have been the one of Laura getting ready in the bathroom mirror (except that I didn't realize how filthy the mirror was until after I took the pictures). We have done only two formal dances (8th grade social and Snowball as a freshman), but the parents were all having their pictures taken with their kids. I found it a bit odd myself. I think dh was the only father not there for the "photo sessions", too, which I also wasn't expecting.
I thought for a while that prom and homecoming "styles" had switched...when I was in high school, prom was more formal (tux's and long dresses) with homecoming more casual. I could have sworn that a few years ago that the dances kind of switched in style...looks like they are back to the way things should be!
Our homecoming dance is extremely casual, because it is right after the football game. The game is an evening game, too, which means the dance doesn't start until about 9:00 pm. Neither of my older two have ever been interested in going to the dance. Most years they didn't even go to the game. We always have a cross country meet during the day which means they can't go to the parade.
