I'm not on vacation anymore.

I think the responsible thing to do is to cancel my party this weekend. My DGS has pneumonia. My DD is really sick. I think I was in Disney during their incubation period. But I think it wouldn't be fair to my guests if I was wrong and everyone got sick. I feel as if my home is a Petri dish.

How would you feel if you went to someone's house and in these H1N1 times their family was sick? Coughing so much they sound like barking dogs!?

I'm exhausted. I'm going to bed.

Can you invite your friends to meet you at a restaurant or something? I am sure everyone will understand if you relocate or postpone!!

Good Morning DDA!!!

Well in a week or two, I had been hoping to announce I was going to be a grandma again. But it seems that it is not to happen now. My DDIL started bleeding Monday night and went to the Dr yesterday. She has a blighted ovum and she miscarried. They are doing a D & C today. Thankfully Howie was able to get off from teaching and take her. Yesterday was their 8th wedding anniversary and she was so devastated when she had to tell him.
Between her and Guenna they have had their share of these.

Well in a week or two, I had been hoping to announce I was going to be a grandma again. But it seems that it is not to happen now. My DDIL started bleeding Monday night and went to the Dr yesterday. She has a blighted ovum and she miscarried. They are doing a D & C today. Thankfully Howie was able to get off from teaching and take her. Yesterday was their 8th wedding anniversary and she was so devastated when she had to tell him.
Between her and Guenna they have had their share of these.

Good morning, everyone! I'm home with 2 kids today, instead of just one. Leslie came home from school yesterday in tears. Her teacher told her she can't come to school anymore until her cough is gone. Well, that could be never! She has a seasonal cough that arrives every Fall and Spring. It's frustrating, but not contagious! It really hurt Leslie to have the teacher tell her she can't come to school. I think it's time to go to the doctor and have him give her an inhaler for these coughs.

What's really frustrating, is that I sat with the teacher before school started to let her know that Leslie has already had swine flu, and that she has weak lungs that results in a cough that is not contagious every fall and spring. She thanked me for telling her, and I thought she was ok with it. Apparently not! I am waiting for the principal to call me this morning and talk to me about what we can do.

Timothy was up in the night with a fever, but it seems to be gone, now! Hooray! We'll see how things go today!

Glynis, give Leslie a from me. That is so sad. I do realize that we need to be careful with the flu, but there is too much hysteria right now leading to decisions like this. I read about another district that won't allow any student with a runny nose to attend school. Also, the school should have contacted you directly and not have a teacher tell a child something like that.

I get a cough every winter that lasts forever. I'm sure I'll get some looks from parents, but it isn't contagious.

Having suffered a miscarriage I can certainly emphathize with you DS and DIL. Time will make things easier, but will never take away the loss.

Terry - I know that you have had lots of heartache from these. I will say, that I suffered multiple miscarriages after Kathrin was born. When we had Kristin is was like a gift from heaven. I can only hope that will be the outcome for both Guenna and your DIL.

Terry - I know that you have had lots of heartache from these. I will say, that I suffered multiple miscarriages after Kathrin was born. When we had Kristin is was like a gift from heaven. I can only hope that will be the outcome for both Guenna and your DIL.

I have never had a miscarriage, so I cannot even begin to understand the pain. Heather's first pregnancy was twins and she miscarried then and has had one between the boys. With Guenna, it was a miscarriage, a false pregnancy and then a tublar pregnancy. I don't even know if Guenna is gonna try for a second. Right now I know that is not on Heather 's mind, but I know she secretly wants a girl but knows it probably is not in the cards.
I will just have my four grandsons and maybe Stevie and Michelle will have one but if not, that is okay.

Glynis - Good luck with the Dr. and the school.
I know my bosses were worried about using the inhaler with Princess but it has made SUCH a difference. Last week when they were using the wrong one she was just coughing away. Now that she has been back on the Flovent she has not coughed AT ALL. It takes a couple of days for it to reach full efficacy, but it really is FABULOUS at getting rid of those coughs. Neither DS nor Princess wheezes, but they both have those annoying coughs. Well, not DS so much now that he is older, but he did when he was little.

Did you guys see in the mousesavers newsletter yesterday that Disney cruises is planning an Alaska itinerary for 2011. I want to go to Alaska one day. I might have to think about this just a little. As I have no clue how much cruises cost or what decks to do etc.
