DDA Chapter 22

I just got home from work and saw that I had a Quick Reply window open but I have no idea what I was going to say. :rotfl:

Elin - YAY for Kathrin coming home to visit! Sorry about the fight, though. At least all is good.

Janet - I'm off until Monday too! Let's party!

That could be arranged, Missy. We are talking tea tomorrow... And probably kybecca tomorrow night for a drink! ... interested?

Maybe Kybecca. When does Kathrin get home? I don't want to intrude on her "homecoming." :rotfl2:

Anne Marie - I'm so happy that the kids, and you, like the schools. I took French in high school and college, because everyone took Spanish and I wanted to be different. I could kick myself now for not taking Spanish. I could be getting a language stipend! If I only knew then.....

"Long distances and modern-day technology do not good bedfellows make." ~ E. Havrilla

You know what is wrong with email and texting? Inflections and intent are never apparent. Emotions cannot really be expressed in the fast flurry of fingers no matter how well one writes. I don't think my older daughter will ever rely on those methods of communication with me again.

Anyway, things are better after a long phone call last night/this morning, but I am throwing that statement out there for all of you to heed. You may quote me, if you wish. ;)

The upshot of all this is that I get to see my first-born this weekend. She is coming "home" for the first time in almost 2 years! (The last time she was here was for Christmas 2007.) I know that sounds odd when you all know how close we are but our traveling habits and her move to Boston have made being here almost unnecessary. And when she was living in Richmond we were together a lot, so coming home didn't hold the same meaning for us as it does for most families.

My house is seriously a wreck and there is no food in the house and I am working all day but she is coming home. That is what really matters. :lovestruc
I'm so glad you worked it out. Intentions and inflection and tone are never apparent in texts and posts.

My son calls me a number of times a day. He rarely texts. We get along fine.:love: My daughter and I text in the same house. I find out all about her comings and goings on FB. :scared1: I feel your pain.

Have a happy homecoming! :cool1:Enjoy. :cool1:

Janet - Poor Riley, it sounds pretty painful, I hope he heals quickly

Elin - Have a wonderful visit with your DD, the house doesn't matter and you can always go out for food. As much as I love my oldest DD we often "butt heads" my youngest says it's because we are so much alike. :confused3

Elizabeth - They did away with lockers here years ago, for security reasons. They did however have books that stayed in the classrooms so that the students didn't have to carry theirs back and forth.

I have the day off today because I am working Saturday morning before the party so I need to make the most of it, but honestly I feel like lounging. We're making Brandon's cake tomorrow night after work, he's wants a Super Mario theme so we'll see how it comes out.
Have fun with the cake Debbie. Happy Birthday Brandon. party:

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Brandon, his birthday is Saturday so he gets to have his party on his actual birthday this year.

Elizabeth I drug out some old albums and was able to find a couple of small pictures of the building you were asking about, these were taken in 1999, the show was The Hunchback of Notre Dame,

And here's one for DS, it was taken in 1994,

I remember that Hunchback show! Do you remember when Playhouse Disney was the Soundstage Restaurant? We had dinner there with Aladdin & Jasmine. HS has changed alot.

I don't remember that one, but I remember that the Streets of America were only New York, we had a blast at the nighttime street party, complete with cops and bag ladies sleeping in boxes.

Janet -- I hope Riley is feeling better. Enjoy your time off!

Elin -- I'm glad you are getting to spend some time with Kathrin.

Kristine -- I'm glad all checked out well. I just got a notice today to call for an appt. for my yearly one.

Tia --have fun planning.

so it's for sure that the Candlelight processional is 2 TS credits....:confused3 seems too much to me

I agree.

Tammi -- I've never heard of The Haunting in Connecticut. Of course, I've not heard of most movies. Enjoy your time off!

We just got home from the kids new school orientation & meet the teachers. Both schools seem great & the teachers were very personable & enthusiastic. Everything I heard so far I like & the kids (even Katie) love their schools already (thankfully).

Daniel was put in a class with gifted kids who learn at his rate but will have gym, art, & french with the kids from the other classes which I like. Sophie & Katie get to take french too. (only spanish was offered at their old school so they excited to try something different) If they learn well we'll have to plan a trip to Disneyland Paris!:rotfl2:

School here starts Tuesday & now they are all excited.

That sounds like terrific news!

Happy Birthday to Brandon. Good luck getting all the things done for the party.

OK guys. I need help! It's my turn to pick a trip to celebrate our anniversary. Randy did the 10th, and it's my turn to do the 15th. We usually do Vegas and that's all I thought we could afford, but AA has great fares to MCO now and we got a good rate on the hotel, so we're off to WDW for MNSSHP! I'm very excited! I've gotten so used to having kids with me that I've blocked all the adult-type things out of my mind. It's just a short trip -- 3 nights. I want to try Victoria and Albert's. I also want to do tours that we can't take kids on, like the Segway. Any other ideas?

Also, does anyone have any Halloween designs? I've never paid attention to those since we never thought we would be able to go that time of year.

So I just walked in my house after the mammo...and my phone was ringing...I ran to answer it and it was the hospital calling :scared1: They were letting me know that everything was good!!! :yay::yay:What service!!
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Congrats on the trip, MNSSHP is our favorite party, I have one design that I did a long time ago,

That is very cute Debbie!

Bernadette - I saw on a thread earlier today that the price for the CP for adults at Le Cellier is like $65. It includes soup, salad, entree, dessert BUT it is a set menu. It also includes reserved seating for IllumiNations. The CP isn't my cup of tea to begin with, so I don't care. I just hope I can get a dinner ADR without buying the stupid CP package! (I want to go to Coral Reef, not Le Cellier.) If I can't get Le Cellier I will book Flying Fish.

Sooo...

I just called and flipped my Dec. ressie back to an AP rate room only. :rolleyes1 The "free" dining was $700 more. Subtract the cost of 3 single day tickets and the package came in $23 less than adding dining plan at full price. $23 off is NOT free! Now I just need to decide if I want to buy a new TiW card in December or just wait until next year. That will be largely decided by what ADRs I am able to book. If I get crummy ADRs then I won't buy a new card.

I added our flight info to Magical Express so that is all set.

I wish I knew our 2010 dates for certain. Airfare for the dates I have booked is low, but the change fee would make it decidedly NOT low! :scared1: So I need to wait. I hate waiting! :headache: Stupid vacation bid.

Yes, I am doing the room AP rate with dining. That is perfect for us. I'm so excited!:goodvibes:cool1:

I did the same thing and also have kicked myself for years. I really could use Spanish, but languages are so hard for me, I keep trying to learn but am just dense. I really want to be able to say a few things by the time I go to Barcellona!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the flashback pictures. I remember one time watching the Hunchback of Notre Dame and a horrible storm came through while we were watching the show. They ended up canceling the rest of the show because the weather was so bad. I remember the actors faces trying to remain so intent on what they were doing, but you could tell the weather was worrying them.

Also love the TMNT, I have some pics here of them.

Tammi - she is here now! We would love to have you join us any time tomorrow.

Marci - when are you headed to WDW?

I love that i can check in with you guys this time when im away!

Well another successful day in Arlington. We relaxed and went to the pool for most of the morning/early afternoon. We decided to walk to the stadium and stopped to grab dinner on the way, since we figured it woudl be too expensive once we got there. We had great seats in left center field for the Rangers game. We were right near the bullpen which was pretty neat. Rangers ended up winning! We got back to our hotel, jumped in the pool, and now here I am :)
(I am updating pictures on facebook everynight--my family wants to see, so in case you want to check them out!)

Debbie - Neat pics! Thanks for posting them! :goodvibes
I hope Brandon has a FABULOUS birthday!!
That Halloween design is cute!

Stephanie - The CM gave me the prices with and without DDP, but I just can't decide which way would be better. Right now we don't have a dining plan. I will revisit that issue after we get our ADRs. :rolleyes1

Jen - Glad you had fun at the game!

Marci - YAY for an anniversary trip to WDW!!
