"Long distances and modern-day technology do not good bedfellows make." ~ E. Havrilla
You know what is wrong with email and texting? Inflections and intent are never apparent. Emotions cannot really be expressed in the fast flurry of fingers no matter how well one writes. I don't think my older daughter will ever rely on those methods of communication with me again.
Anyway, things are better after a long phone call last night/this morning, but I am throwing that statement out there for all of you to heed. You may quote me, if you wish.
The upshot of all this is that I get to see my first-born this weekend. She is coming "home" for the first time in almost 2 years! (The last time she was here was for Christmas 2007.) I know that sounds odd when you all know how close we are but our traveling habits and her move to Boston have made being
here almost unnecessary. And when she was living in Richmond we were together a lot, so coming home didn't hold the same meaning for us as it does for most families.
My house is seriously a wreck and there is no food in the house and I am working all day but she is coming home. That is what really matters.
