Jen - Glad you made it safe and sound. Have fun!

Tia - Sorry you had issues with Phil tonight. I had them with my older DD. We have agreed to disagree, but I said things to her that I have never said to either of my children before and she knew I was

Janet - I am glad that Riley is relatively OK. I bet you were scared.

:scared1:Did you go into the back entrance to HM? I thought was as cool as the utilidoors.
Yes, we did. Stephen had been a CM at the HM years ago, so he was very knowledgable about it.

Well I just got home from the ER with Riley. I swear this boy is going to make my blonde hair turn gray.

I got a call from the gas station down the street saying that he had been in an accident with his bicycle. I was up & out the door within seconds. Thankfully it was just him & no vehicles were involved. He was on his way home & the chain broke & somehow he was flipped over the bike & took a nose dive into the street. I was worried about his upper lip & the bump on his head(not to mention all the blood).

All is well though, no broken bones or stitches needed. He is scraped up pretty bad from head to toe & looks like a mummy with all the bandaging. He left quite a bit of his skin on the road. I know tomorrow he will be very stiff.

I have always called Riley my little bruiser & it does not seem he is going to give that title up just yet
How scary! I'm glad he is ok, for the most part, and hope he doesn't feel too bad today.

Morning, I am so not a morning person. I have a very long day ahead of me.

Tia sorry you and DH did not get along

Jen have a great time in Dallas

Elin hugs you and Kathrin. I hopethe situation improves.

Janet I hope Riley recovers quickly

Hugs and good thouts to everyone else

Good morning all!

I slept through my alarm so I am running a little late. Riley is awake, says he can't sleep. His face is a little more swollen this morning & is very sore. Thanks for all the hugs!

Good morning.:goodvibes

I have a huge meeting at work today and then I get to babysit the 5 year old. Woo!!:scared1::woohoo:

Need to go downstairs and get my coffee.

You know what is wrong with email and texting? Inflections and intent are never apparent. Emotions cannot really be expressed in the fast flurry of fingers no matter how well one writes. I don't think my older daughter will ever rely on those methods of communication with me again.

Anyway, things are better after a long phone call last night/this morning, but I am throwing that statement out there for all of you to heed. You may quote me, if you wish. ;)

The upshot of all this is that I get to see my first-born this weekend. She is coming "home" for the first time in almost 2 years! (The last time she was here was for Christmas 2007.) I know that sounds odd when you all know how close we are but our traveling habits and her move to Boston have made being here almost unnecessary. And when she was living in Richmond we were together a lot, so coming home didn't hold the same meaning for us as it does for most families.

My house is seriously a wreck and there is no food in the house and I am working all day but she is coming home. That is what really matters. :lovestruc

Jen glad you made it to your hotel safely!

Jen, I am glad you arrived safely! Enjoy the game!!

How scary, Janet! I'm glad there were no major injuries. I hope he's not in too bad of shape tomorrow. :wizard:

EEK! :scared1: I am glad he wasn't injured more seriously! I hope you are BOTH feeling better today!

Good morning. :)

Good morning! I did NOT know about Jack in the HM! I always try to look at the stuff in the attic but the ride moves too quickly. I did know about the hand - DS told me!

Good morning.:goodvibes

Have fun, Stephanie! :goodvibes

One of the moms I e-mailed about the lockers repsonded that she has no idea what's going on, either. She is a much more "in the loop" mom than I am, so I was hoping she would know something. :confused3 Guess my first contact with our new principal might be rather ugly!

Janet - Poor Riley, it sounds pretty painful, I hope he heals quickly

Elin - Have a wonderful visit with your DD, the house doesn't matter and you can always go out for food. As much as I love my oldest DD we often "butt heads" my youngest says it's because we are so much alike. :confused3

Elizabeth - They did away with lockers here years ago, for security reasons. They did however have books that stayed in the classrooms so that the students didn't have to carry theirs back and forth.

I have the day off today because I am working Saturday morning before the party so I need to make the most of it, but honestly I feel like lounging. We're making Brandon's cake tomorrow night after work, he's wants a Super Mario theme so we'll see how it comes out.

Tammi,
What a nice surprise from Bob!! :thumbsup2

Janet,
Glad Riley is ok. I would have gone into panice mode too. Hope is on the mend quickly.

Elin,
Glad you worked things out with Kathrin & she is coming for a visit.:goodvibes

Bernadette,
I am loving your pictures. I felt so bad that last day when it started to pour so I agree, you have to have a do over last day!:thumbsup2 If you get a chance can you email me the picture of all our kids by the space phone. I do not have that one...I am so glad we got together.

Glad you go get it done though...hope its over quickly!!

Elin, I am glad Kathrin is coming for a visit.

Debbie, I am sure the cake will be awesome!!

I spoke to the Asst. Principal this morning. The "Disciplinary Committee" has decided NOT to use lockers anymore. It is supposedly NOT due to overcrowding. She did say that due to budget restraints they will only have a "classroom" set of books, so the kids will not be allowed to take the books home. That settles the matter of lugging the books around. It also explains why EACH student is expected to provide EACH teacher with a REAM of paper. :headache: What a crock. Nothing like passing the budget crunch on to the parents. I will think about sending paper. The thing that chaps me is that the kids who DON'T bring paper will reap the benefits of the paper the other kids DO bring. On the other hand, I don't want the teachers to have to buy paper OOP! :sad2: Crummy situation all the way around.

Sitting here waiting to have a mammo....YUCK

Better to have one than NOT have one. Ask my mother. :rolleyes1

Jen - Glad you made it safely, despite a crazy cab ride.

Elizabeth - That is just crazy! I hope you can get some more info from the school.

Anne Marie - I'd love to see your pictures! My emails the same as the old lists.

Tammi - Crazy schedule! Hope the kids have a good time with their dad. Can't wait to see a report!

Debbie - Good luck with the inventory and Brandon's party. Hope it all goes smoothly!

We're off to bed here. It's been an uneventful day except for a few not so smooth interactions with my dh. Argh! Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day. Night all.

thanks for the dittoable!!
