DDA Chapter 20

Happy Friday, everyone. It's a rainy, gloomy day here. Oh well. We really need the moisture, so I guess I won't complain too much.

Today, I'll be bowling in the morning, and then making a stop at Carter's. I'm looking for some summer stuff for the baby. I hope, at some point, he'll be able to use them.

Alan is staying home with Timothy, so I can run errands faster.

Have a nice day DDA!

Good Morning DDA!

I'm chaperoning Leighanna's field trip today. This should be interesting considering I just worked 12 hours!:scared1: Lets' see.... 120 screaming first graders (I won't be the only chaperone), on no sleep? ..... I should be just fine! At least I will stay awake!

Oh... we're going to Ohio Caverns and then to a farm afterwards. It is supposed to be sunny, but windy, with a high of 80. At least the weather will be nice!

I hope you have fun. I'm sure staying awake will be the easy part.

Colby is fine this morning. He still has a bump, but it is much smaller. No headache or other ill effects. I did make sure that he stirred a couple of times last night at the doctor's suggestion.

I'm not sure what we will do today. The sun is already shining though the temps aren't up yet. Hunter has lacrosse practice tonight so whatever we do needs to be pretty local. :confused3

I'm so glad that Colby is ok. Things like that really scare me! Katie took a header out of a shopping cart when she was 2 years old. It was awful!

Hello friends! I just can't seem to get caught up on anything computer related lately. Doesn't help that I've gotten to the computer 3 times since Easter weekend. It's just been crazy as usual. We've subbed preschool 3 times in the last two weeks plus all of the usual stuff. Today's list was eqaually as long, but my body as decided otherwise. Whatever stomach issues I have were triggered by somthing yesterday and it has been a pain-filled night and morning.

I'm really hoping the trend of only lasting a day or so continues because a) it hurts! and b) tomorrow's list isn't as negotiable. I'm supposed to be at the church a 6am to help with the garage sale fundraiser for my dad's mission trip to the Ukraine. Plus, we've got to pick up April Showers stuff for scouts and I promised to take Terra on a nature walk. I guess if I'm not feeling better we'll get a real life answer to her question earlier this week of "what happens if you promise/I] to take me somewhere and then get sick."

So how is everybody?!?!?! Well, I hope. Can someone give me a quick rundown of the highlights of the last few weeks? Lots of :wizard: and :grouphug: all around!

I guess that I should head to bed. I don't have to get up in the morning, but that doesn't mean that Colby won't get me up anyway.

Oh I forgot to mention that Colby got hit in the head with a golf club this afternoon. He was playing with Logan and Logan swung the club and Colby bent down to pick up a ball and bam he got hit. He has a huge lump on his head about 2 inches long and it's raised at least 1/2 inch. I called the doctor and they said that we should just watch him, without complications such as vomiting, headache, blurred vision, they wouldn't do anything for him anyway. He seems fine now and he will stir when I check on him. I guess the kid has a hard head.

owie!!

that sounds like a lot of fun (for the first graders!:rotfl:)

Morning DDA!

Woke up at 5am thanks to a cat that is afraid of thunder... go figure. It should warm up here too today! I think I'm going shopping tonight and then tomorrow lots of yardwork. I have a giant hosta that needs to be split and the trim on the back porch needs redone.

Have a great Friday!

Pearl is afraid of thunder also.

Sounds like a lovely weekend.

I'm so glad that Colby is ok. Things like that really scare me! Katie took a header out of a shopping cart when she was 2 years old. It was awful!

Abi took a header out of those dumb restaurant highchairs on to stone floor...in front of a cop....I was mortified and so glad that she didn't kill herself.

Tom - Hope the field trip goes well.

Lyndsey - I hope your migraine is better soon.

Deb - Enjoy your weekend off. Sounds like you deserve it. Glad Colby is okay.

Jennifer - When is your trip? Who's going?

Good morning all!!

If you could send pixie dust and drum major thoughts toward Cassidy today I would appreciate it. Today is the major portion of her audition. We had a fun time last night trying to do her assignment on leadership....she wanted creative....so we started being silly and came up with once upon a time....:rotfl:

She did end up being creative....she wrote a poem...which I thought was pretty good. (I hope she won't mind):

Leadership
To lead
Be followed
Every great team
Needs effective leaders
Leaders keep the group together
Take control when needed
Be cool and friendly when the hard works over

Drum Majors
The highest form of leadership in band
They keep everything in control
Help the band make beautiful music
According to their conducting
They command the band
Connect the band

Drum majors
They best work within the band
When they know when to be strict
But when to be calm
Know how the music should be played
And how to get the band to play

Tomorrow is prom....I am doing Cassidy's hair.:scared1:

Well, since the baby is asleep and Terra has Kassie to keep her entertained (had a fever last night so she couldn't go to school), I think that I'm going to take a nap. Last night's sleep was too fitful. I'll catch up with you all this afternoon, I hope.

Theresa - Best of luck to Cassidy today!!! I hope all goes well. The poem is great!

Wow, Cassidy has alot on her plate this week. I'm sure the auditions are taking away from her prom excitement and the Prom is probably distracting her from her auditions. Wow, I hope she does well and has fun with both.

I hope a nap helps you feel better. Perhaps you should warn Terra that you may need to reschedule a few things this weekend, but assure her that you will get to do everything eventually. I've learned not to make concrete plans, we rough out what we want to do then get to them as we can. Things are so variable with weather, 3 kids and work.

Cassidy also had ACT's on Wednesday....the last 2 weeks have been insanely busy for her. No wonder she didn't feel to hot last night.

Good luck Cassidy!
