Sorry for the fly-by post, but I thought some of you might want to see the (former) July 11th babies, from our playdate yesterday. There are more pictures on the blog, including some of Alyssa and Matthew. I hope it warms up for the rest of you soon, we're LOVING the warm weather, as some of you have seen! Heck, I hope it stays warm here, too! Take care! :goodvibes:grouphug:

Make sure to take some time for yourself. I can attest that too much work isn't good for mental health.

I've been very good about not working on the week-ends and taking time to be with Chuck and the girls if they are around.

That is an important trip ;) You'd better get planning. Maybe you can take your nephew to Disney :cool1:

I'm hoping to do that sometime in the near future if not when we take the car down there. My sister and her kids will be there again in August and will take time to visit my brother. I'm waiting to get further details so I can spend time with them maybe if I go.

Vicki glad to hear you are home & that Mil is doing better!

Theresa & Terry I hope your migraines have gone away completly :wizard:

Deb glad to hear you all had such a good time & :yay: for a couple of days off!

Elizabeth I hope this neurologist is the answer you have been looking for :wizard:

Theresa I am glad that snow is not here! Riley mowed the yard today, so hopefully no more snow will fall any time soon.

Elin, Terry, & Stephanie :woohoo: on getting your tickets!

Deb congratulations to Colbys team :cheer2:

Tammi sorry Nicholas team lost :guilty:

Heidi glad you & Dawn had a nice afternoon together.

Cute picture Jennifer!

I hear October is a fine time for a drive. Or, does he need it sooner? ;)

I think that is probably when we'll drive down. He isn't in any rush. He definitely won't do it in the summer months. I may fly down in August to see the DDA and my family. We have annual passes so we need to take advantage of every trip we can.

Holy Man. When are you guys going to be at Disney in August? I can get a round trip ticket from Detroit for less than $150 and Chicago for less than $200 right now. Since I'll be living in Lansing and will be coming by myself, that would work out for me.

I know there is lots to work out, Vicki. But I also know you are going to love this new job on a permanent basis. I hope all the logistics are easy to wade through for you and Chuck.

Thanks Elin & Theresa (I see your post further ahead). Yes, I'm going to love this job. It is exactly the challenge that I need. I'm thinking I'll go down to Lansing on Sunday afternoon or very early Monday morning to be there by noon. I'll then come home Thursday night to work from my home office on Friday. I can sign up for telecommuting one day a week. That way I'm only gone 3 or 4 nights a week and home 3-4 nights a week. It will be a lot of driving but I don't really mind that. The only concern there is the cost. However, if I get just a small studio apartment I can save enough money to offset the cost of the travel.

Not that I will be there :guilty: but most are going during the 1st 2 weeks of August. I think the DDA dinner is set for the 14th.

Anyone that is going down there need a roommate? I might actually be able to swing this.

I love it, Debbie. Thanks so much for taking time from your day off to do this for me. :goodvibes

You're so very welcome, I'm really looking forward to October :)

My brother is now living in Florida. Chuck & I need to drive a car down for him. He sold it to mom before he moved to Japan the first time, I bought it from mom for $1, and I'll be selling it back to him for $1. We don't know when we are going yet but I'm kind of excited about planning it.

I was going to say August, but October would be nice too.

Debbie,,,,that is fantastic!!!!!!

Thank you

Glad MIL is doing OK!

Robyn, hope you had fun with your friends last night! :)

The neuropsychologist and I had a very long chat yesterday. I am going to schedule DS for testing as soon as I get an e-mail with the Dr's availability. 5 years ago DS was hospitalized with a lesion in his brain due to something called ADEM. Back then, the neurologist kind of glossed over it, like it wasn't a big deal. Well, not a big deal in the sense that it wasn't a tumor. Apparently it may have caused permanent cognitive impairment. I was Googling last night and it seems that this occurs in about 4 in every million kids. I watched a lecture from a symposium on "Rare neuroimmunological disorders". The good news is that the Dr. is familiar with things that have damaged white matter in the brain, even though he hasn't seen very many ADEM cases. I think he is my hero. Hopefully this Dr. will be able to sort things out and develop an effective plan of action. If DS doesn't really have ADD then we should stop treating him for ADD.

I hope the Dr. can get things figured out. I found your DS to be quite the little charmer last August.

Yes, early October.

Terry, I still can't believe you are up!:faint::faint::faint::faint:

Well, I am getting ready to do something I've never done before. I'm going to mow the lawn!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Have a sunshine weekend DDA!!!:sunny::sunny:[/QUOTE

I'm so glad to see you Steffy, Congrats to you, Terry, and Elin for snagging your tickets, hopefully Becky goet hers.

How cute, they are all getting so big.

The DDA dinner is set for the 14th.

Now that I have read all 4 Twilight saga books I am wanting more to read. I would love some ideas for more good reading, my mind is starving now lol Being able to read them online would be a plus as well :thumbsup2

Off to get Rileys hair cut, chat with you all later!

what genre are you looking for??

or, more importantly, fluff or brain using?

Katrina was just telling me about a series that she liked. We were watching Legend of the Seeker on TV and she said it reminded her of the series that she had read. She thought I would like it. I'll get the name of it from her later.

The book series that Katrina recommended is The Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop. I just looked up the info on the 1st book. It doesn't sound like something I would like but she was so sure that I would enjoy it. I'll be reading it after she gets done rereading them.

I am trying a new recipe tonight for pork chops - San Francisco Pork Chops. I hope they are decent. I really need something new for them. We either grill them or cook them with cream of mushroom soup in the crockpot. That is beyond boring anymore.

Thanks! I looked them up & they are what I like.
