The neuropsychologist and I had a very long chat yesterday. I am going to schedule DS for testing as soon as I get an e-mail with the Dr's availability. 5 years ago DS was hospitalized with a lesion in his brain due to something called ADEM. Back then, the neurologist kind of glossed over it, like it wasn't a big deal. Well, not a big deal in the sense that it wasn't a tumor. Apparently it may have caused permanent cognitive impairment. I was Googling last night and it seems that this occurs in about 4 in every million kids. I watched a lecture from a symposium on "Rare neuroimmunological disorders". The good news is that the Dr. is familiar with things that have damaged white matter in the brain, even though he hasn't seen very many ADEM cases. I think he is my hero. Hopefully this Dr. will be able to sort things out and develop an effective plan of action. If DS doesn't really have ADD then we should stop treating him for ADD.

Wow, that sounds like a really big deal. I hope that you finally have the doctor that can get to the bottom of things and help DS

I'll have to check it out. I know my parents would love to do another cruise. I must say that I am very tempted to book the Norwegian Epic cruise for next summer when they start booking in May.



I'm glad that you all got your payments made. I hope Becky got her's in too.

Hal just finished mowing the lawn!!!! took about 20 to 25 minutes!!!!!! that was for just over a half acre of land!!!

Colby's team came in first in their division. Logan and Summer (also same team) each got individual awards too. Colby was a bit disappointed, but he's gotten individual awards in the past and I'm sure he will again.

Nick and Hunter are in the Prep division, but they are on different teams (it stopped the bickering between them) Hunter's team came in last place and Nick's came in second to last. Hunter did win an individual award for High Scratch game.

After the awards were handed out they had a big pizza party for the bowlers and families. Now we are home and stuffed. I'm heading in for a nap while the boys play video games. They could use naps too, but they won't hear of it. Chris is working on a car for some pocket money. Hopefully the boys will be quiet.

Elin, Terry and Stephanie - Yippie for the Meet!

Nicholas' team lost their game this morning, 4-2. But man, they played their hearts out. Both teams were short on people and they didn't have anyone for substitutions. So all the kids played the entire game. So far I'm not real impressed with the coach this year.

I got the entire yard mowed and weed-eated. I even weed-sprayed the front. Now I need to get a shower and decide what else I will tackle today. There is laundry and grocery shopping that needs to be done.

I had a nap though I never got to a deep sleep. The boys were even perfectly quiet In 15 minutes I'm off to work. Hopefully it will be busy. If I'm gonna work I want to make lots of money.

It's promising to hear that so many people are mowing the lawn. Maybe someday we'll have to mow. Of course it would need to turn green first. I'm sure we will have more cold weather before all is said and done. We shut down the wood furnace today. Our house was just too hot on the warm days so now we'll be running on oil. Murphy's law says that we will get some cold weather.

We had a nice time, its been awhile since its just been the 2 of us.
