DDA Chapter 20

The neuropsychologist and I had a very long chat yesterday. I think he is my hero. Hopefully this Dr. will be able to sort things out and develop an effective plan of action. If DS doesn't really have ADD then we should stop treating him for ADD.

I hope this has put you all on the right track, Elizabeth! :goodvibes

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

I am off to fress rehearsal, then back to pay for MagicMeets and then yardwork! Have a great morning! Talk to you all later.

Terry, I still can't believe you are up!:faint::faint::faint::faint:

Well, I am getting ready to do something I've never done before. I'm going to mow the lawn!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Have a sunshine weekend DDA!!!:sunny::sunny:

Good morning! :)

Happy Saturday.

It's going to be beautiful here today, with highs nearing 80. Nicholas has a 9:00 soccer game and then I need to come home and mow the grass. I also should squeeze in some laundry today as well.

That sounds a lot like my day! Soccer, laundry, cleaning. I mowed the lawn on Thursday. lol

Good Luck everyone with paying for the Magic Meet:wizard::wizard:

We had a fantabulous day yesterday. The weather was gorgious, not too hot, but not too cold either. The crowd levels were very manageable and we only wait 30 minutes for a couple of rides, the rest work near walk on. We ended up with 3 adults and 8 kids. Everyone got along so well. Some of the kids had never done roller coasters, but we've got them hooked now :lmao: Other than the super expensive food it was a wonderful trip. Six Flags counter service places makes WDW prices look cheap :scared: We are ready to go back for Mother's Day. The ride is just about 2 hours so it isn't horrible at all. We are tired today since we didn't get to bed until midnight after running full blast all day. Hopefully we can squeeze naps in after the bowling banquet this morning/lunch. The kids will bowl with the cops, then we have the banquet. I have to be at work at 3:45, but I did have 2 entire days off and I have tomorrow off too. My mental health is much improved :cool1:

Sounds like a great day! Hope you get some rest before work

Glad MIL is doing OK!

Robyn, hope you had fun with your friends last night! :)

The neuropsychologist and I had a very long chat yesterday. I am going to schedule DS for testing as soon as I get an e-mail with the Dr's availability. 5 years ago DS was hospitalized with a lesion in his brain due to something called ADEM. Back then, the neurologist kind of glossed over it, like it wasn't a big deal. Well, not a big deal in the sense that it wasn't a tumor. Apparently it may have caused permanent cognitive impairment. I was Googling last night and it seems that this occurs in about 4 in every million kids. I watched a lecture from a symposium on "Rare neuroimmunological disorders". The good news is that the Dr. is familiar with things that have damaged white matter in the brain, even though he hasn't seen very many ADEM cases. I think he is my hero. Hopefully this Dr. will be able to sort things out and develop an effective plan of action. If DS doesn't really have ADD then we should stop treating him for ADD.

Glad you like this doctor and hope that he can help him.

Hey this is important!!!! :lmao:

Take care mowing and take frequent breaks so you don't end up getting sick from the grass.

Hal went to get a new mower. Thank goodness for a big tax return. :goodvibes

Theresa,,,I hate migraines so much. I feel so lost when I get them. Things were actually much better this week, I was able to block out smells but yesterday they cleaned and I had to leave work with an hour to go. I thought all of the work was done on the gym floor at work, so when I went in today, I thought, work, work and then maybe go out to eat with Stephanie for the evening, have the drink of the day and then go home. But that was not the case. They had painted the gym floor earlier this week and today they were putting the epoxy finish down. I could smell it and was trying to still do my work, but I started to get a tingling sensation in my lips and the migraine started as well. It was getting intense and then a parent came to pay her bill and the perfume she was wearing was so intense that I had to leave. Then it was another comical event of driving home. I have had this happen before. I got behind a car that really needed to get their oil changed---months ago-- and then a farm vehicle that was hauling the most offensive smell....fertilizer. I got home and slept for over 5 hours. My stomach is still a little funky,,,lots of crackers but I will be ready tomorrow to register for the Magic Meet. :thumbsup2

I subsisted on crackers yesterday until supper time. I hate when you wake up with the migraine and have no clue what triggered it.

Diesel fumes are the worst.

I love the tradition of corsages on ladies for Easter but I was actually happy Sunday when there weren't any in church as it could have triggered a migraine for me and the yippy sneezes for Abi.

I am glad you are doing better.....I have a bit of a rebound headache this morning...but I ain't going anywhere today!!

oh, this sounds very promising!!! It would certainly help you get on the right track if it's not ADD. (Which makes some sense because of the non ADD attributes DS has).

Sounds like an amazing doctor that listens!!

I know there is lots to work out, Vicki. But I also know you are going to love this new job on a permanent basis. I hope all the logistics are easy to wade through for you and Chuck.

this is so what I would say. Vicki, :wizard:on your first "real" day on the job!!

I have the rebound headache too.

Well, Hal came home with a Troy Built riding mower. Finally a mower that will work!!!!

I am excited about this Dr. I do think he will be able to help us come up with a plan, and I think he will be able to provide documentation that the school won't be able to dismiss. That would be good.

this is my porch a few minutes ago, 36 hours into the storm. It is still snowing but as one weather guy noted.."It doesn't look like much but it's concrete!":rotfl:

I-70 has been closed up to and back from the ski resorts since yesterday afternoon. Not because of the amount of snow but because it is so heavy, yesterday they couldn't really plow through it and this morning they have to go do some preventative avalanche work. Which is really bad because it is the last weekend of operation for all of the big resorts.

I am so not going anywhere today.

We ended up watching Horton Hears a Who, last night. We have a redbox 3 blocks away. :goodvibes

Mow nicely, now! And drink lots of water... it is a little warm out there!

I am glad you are still awake, Terry! Will the MagicMeets "pre-registration" page magically morph into a payment page at high noon??

From what I can see, when I log in my pre-register page comes up with a way to check and pay. I plan to just keep refreshing starting at 11:59 and see what happens.

Mine looks like that too. I have been refreshing already to see if there are any changes I need to be aware of. Although I don't think it will sell out in 10 minutes or so... maybe.

Last year it sold out in 36 hours and this year 900 people have pre-registered
