In our area they won't let the little kids off of the bus unless there is someone there to get them. I wouldn't think of letting my kids walk to the bus stop alone, and Nicholas is 9. Maybe it's just what I've seen, so I'm over-cautious, but oh well, they have to deal with it.

We live in such a small town, that this being a danger never occurred to me. I let my kids walk out the door to the bus stop every morning. Of course, the bus stop is half a block away, and I can see it from my bathroom window. It also helps that one of my best friends is the house in front of the bus stop and I know she's watching.

My kids walk less than 100 yards to the bus stop or I should say from the bus stop as they only ride the bus home. I've never heard of a rule that the parent needs to be visable and Nick has been riding for 8 years now. I'm sure she was confused as to why only one of 5 kids was on the bus.

Well ive been feeling a bit off since I got home and it has hit full force tonight. I am feeling horrible and have a bit of a fever. I am hoping to sleep it off and feel better tomorrow. 4 other teachers that i know of are out tomorrow, with the same thing..ugh!

Well ive been feeling a bit off since I got home and it has hit full force tonight. I am feeling horrible and have a bit of a fever. I am hoping to sleep it off and feel better tomorrow. 4 other teachers that i know of are out tomorrow, with the same thing..ugh!

Chris and I are both on track. I'm not sure how much Chris has lost, but I'm down 17 lbs since the first of the year I've got 4 more to get to my content spot though I'm hoping to get lower this time.

No weight loss for me, I have not been trying. I have been on a horrible eating binge lately

Thanks for all the 40th b'day wishes here and on FB. Very appreciated and sweet of y'all! John and I went to the Biltmore for 2 nights. It was wonderful. His grandmother died while we were gone, so we came back early and went straight to the funeral. Got home yesterday. Kids seem to be taking this one better. This is the 3rd great-grandmother they've lost in 6 months (my maternal in Sept, John's paternal in Nov, and his maternal this weekend). We are now out of grandparents, so hopefully no more funerals for a long time.

IT'S SNOWING HERE AGAIN, AND IS SUPPOSED TO SNOW ALL DAY AND MOST OF TOMORROW! If you can't tell, I'm yelling in anger about this

I'm so sick of winter!!! Thank heaven that I ran all the errands yesterday. Timothy and I can stay snuggled up in the house today. I have a movie I have to watch before Friday, so today will be the perfect day to do it.

Earlier today the oven door closed on the fingers of my left hand and like a dummy I pulled them out, tearing the top layer or two of skin off the middle finger.

Woo Hoo! More DDAers to cruise with.

This cruise is basically turning into a reunion for me with all the people I know who are going and also those I previously cruised with. Hopefully we will all be able to find decently priced airfare.

I forgot you were on that cruise too. How fun!!!

Lucky duck! We have to go and have our picture taken every 4 years. Even though we can renew online or paper, after you renew they send you a photo card to have a new picture taken at the DMV every 4 years. So I have to almost make 3 trips there, in the time you have to make 1.

But I'm sure the PA DMV is much more efficient than MA! I wore my Mickey Mouse earrings today-not that you can really see them in the photo and I had to wonder what I would think of that when I was nearly 60.

DH lets Lizzy get off the bus about a block away but he has to go get Joe & Emma because they won't let Emma off without an adult. Next year Joe will be on the bus with Lizzy so he probably won't go get them but I think he'll still get Emma.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. IMO they need more offices. Last time I went I showed up right when they opened. I still waited an hour or longer. This is at a less popular DMV, not the one I normally go to it did not help the one ID printer was not working.

Elizabeth what constitutes Scandalous?

My DB will most definatly not be going next year. Not sure if my mom will be going. I am not sure if I can afford to pay for her or not. I think if I dont pay for her she wont be going. Then their is my Nephew. He was upset last year when we went with out him. I think he will be even more upset next year if we go without him. But I am not sure I want to take him without my mom or brother as he does not mind very well sometimes.
