DDA Chapter 19

Chuck was a little disappointed in this trip. Don't get me wrong. We had a great time. However, he has decided his favorite trips are those where we meet up with others. So many of the places we went, he said "This would be so much more fun with a group of people". He really wanted to meet up with you & Gary. He enjoyed our breakfast with Becky, Kyle, Jennifer & the girls.

I did not get hoppers added onto our tickets & the only night I think I could have met up with you we stayed at the resort. But like I said I know there will be more trips & I will meet up with you both soon :goodvibes

That's how I am. I'm always saying "the more, the merrier." It makes my mother laugh, because when I was little I had a book with that title, and she would always say it to me!

Maybe you should plan an August trip. I hear there will be a huge group of DDA people that time of year.

Chuck says he is not going in August - too HOT. He did tell me that I could go by myself if I wanted to. I'm checking out the cost. My sister and her kids will be there around the same time. My brother will be living in Tampa by then.

Nope, no ice cream! How many days do you have left?
Until Easter. I told the kids we could have ice cream for breakfast on Easter. How many cool Mom points do you think I would get for that? :cool2:

Well I hope you can make it! But tell Chuck I'll miss him. :guilty:

Hello all.

I had a great multi-quote and response started earlier. I really thought I had posted it, but I guess that's when I got distracted by lots of screams and cries from downstairs. I guess Connor was running (as usual) and fell (which happens alot) into either the corner of the wall or the corner of the baseboards. He ended up with a gash in his forehead. We stopped the bleeding and covered it with a butterfly closure. When I went to look at it a few hours later it was still gaping around the closure so I ended up calling the exchange. They suggested stitches so Chris came to get him just after 6 and they aren't back yet. Last I knew they were waiting for the topical numbing agent to go to work and were going to be putting in two stitches. I feel so bad that I didn't take him in earlier, but in the heat of the moment I didn't think it was that bad. After a second look and talking to the nurse, I realized that while not long or deep, the width was just too much to heal well on it's own. :( Hopefully, he'll be home soon and doing okay after the stitches. We did go and get him a Monster Truck to cheer him up, plus I'd made him brownies this afternoon.

Chris and I love to meet up with people on our trips too. Of course we both love Disney so we are happy doing anything.

I promise that I read everything too, but I've been interrupted so many times I'm afraid it's all left me at the moment. Hopefully a good nights sleep will go a long way toward feeling human again.

Janet - Sounds like a decent trip, though I totally understand where you're coming from. It is pretty much the same with Phil, though I pretty much know there will be no repeats. Luckily, he has no qualms about us doing (lots of) things without him. I hope you and the boys find a way to get a trip in soon.

Tia sorry about Connor

He just got back from Urgent Care (they had stopped for dinner afterward) and was happy as a clam. He told me that he was only a little brave, but then was upset that he couldn't stay and play or spend the night. In the end, he decided that I was right about doctors wanting mommies and daddies to be with their kids after they get hurt. Plus, he gets to spend the night here on his own on Wednesday. So, now he's headed home with dad and his new monster truck in tow. I'm really glad Chris thought to stop and get Kassie's DS before they went to the Urgent Care as I'm sure it helped keep him occupied and distracted.

Amy - I am glad you and the kids had a good time. We missed you!

Amy - Can't wait to see how the Webkinz party turns out! Knowing you guys, I just know it will be great. Hope everyone settles down from your travelling. WTG Matty on the big boy bed!

This does sadden me as I love Disney very much & wish we could share this together. But I would rather go alone or with my boys than to go again with someone who just isn't in to it.
I can understand that. I guess I can't complain because I now have to go about 3 times a year but I would like my children to experience it together someday again and I don't see that happening for a while-DH won't let me take all 3 at once.

Thanks Elizabeth, he just turned 2 on 2-28
I agree too early. At least wait a few months-much easier in the summer.

Bernadette after buying my new glass top stove, I said damn I should have gotten a convection oven.
I really love the convection oven-I don't use it too much but do like when I do.

Bernadette - Tales from the Laughing Place is very, very well done. The photographs are absolutely stunning - they're very artsy, and taken from angles/of things that I would just never think to do. Jonathan loves looking at what they print. It's of a very high quality, too. The only thing I don't like is they don't have a very consistent production schedule. You're promised 4 issues a year, but they really don't have set release dates.

I like Celebrations, too, and I'm cutting them some slack as they find their footing. It's done by people with a lot of Disney knowledge, so I hope it improves. Their production is pretty good, but I find their articles a bit short and somewhat juvenile/obvious - nothing there that a good Disney fan likely doesn't already know. I do have faith that it will get better, though - I'm thinking maybe they're doing a lot of "obvious" features first (like the issue all about the holidays at WDW), but they'll have to dig deeper once those things run out.

All in all - I'm pleased, and they're NOT $16 an issue! :thumbsup2
Thanks!!!! I'll let you know what I think of D23.

My last piece of Disney luggage was damaged on the flight home :sad1: The large one got ruined in 2005 & I did not complain, but this time I did. I do not expect or even think they will do anything, but dang it if I am paying to check my luggage they better do something to ensure it is being handle properly!
That stinks!

I guess I probably shouldn't mention that while I'm reading this, I'm eating Ben and Jerry's Peach Cobbler ice cream. Sorry, Tammi! I'll have a spoonful for you.

I got Katie all registered for Jr. High today. It was kind of a bittersweet thing. She's really excited about things. Along with her required classes of English, Science, Utah history, Math, CTE, PE and Art she is also going to take Intermediate Orchestra, Choir, and Drama. If any of her electives don't come through, she chose Mythology, Dance and French I as her alternates. It just doesn't seem possible that I have a child old enough to be in 7th grade.

Now, I get to spend some time getting ready for the twins birthday on the 21st. They are going to have a cooking party, where their friends will come over, decorate aprons, make chef hats, make their own pizzas, put together fruit salad on skewers and watch Ratatouille. They are only inviting 6 friends, so it should be ok.

That sounds like a very fun birthday party, Glynis!

I tried my best to catch up this evening, but I'll admit, I was speed-reading, so I hope I didn't miss anything.

Heidi, congratulations on DVC, and I hope you're mom's ultrasound comes back clear.

Vicki, welcome home and congratulations on your new medals! Great pictures, too!

Becky, congratulations to you, too. I'm looking forward to hearing your trip details.

Janet, I'm sorry Gary will never love Disney, but thank goodness you're raising your boys right, right? :)

Tammi, sending belated condolences on the loss of your dog. That was a bittersweet picture you posted.

Anne-Marie, congratulations on your contract. I'm praying that there are no more hiccups for you to have to deal with!

Lindsay and Chanon, I hope you are both taking it as easy as possible. Seriously, you can never take this same kind of "me time" in subsequent pregnancies, so treat yourselves well!

Beth, I hope you are all feeling better! Keeping my fingers crossed for you on the library job!

Deb, I hope you are all feeling better, too! I may be busy, but you are truly a Super Woman with all you do!

Tom, Alyssa and I loved your pictures! And congratulations on your weight loss!

Congratulations to you, too, Robyn! I was giggling reading your sentiments about Eric's presence in your house. :rotfl:

Elizabeth, I hope those styes are finally going away! Matthew just turned 2 years, 8 months, so I guess I need to convince him he's not "too little" huh? ;)

Debbie, sending get well wishes your way!

Theresa, lots of  for you for all you've been dealing with.

Welcome to the thread, Wendy!

Hi Elin, Bernadette, Steffy, Terry, Tia, Jen, Jen, Jennifer, Kelli, Marci, and Kristine! :wave2:

Dang! You're good!! lol :worship:

You all know how terrible I am about sharing pictures, but I finally have some to share tonight. We were in Disney around Noah's 6-month milestone, and he was sick for his 7-month, so I followed Jen's lead and scheduled 8 month portraits.

He's such a little guy, especially compared to how quickly Matty raced through baby-hood. No teeth yet and no crawling either. He wasn't overly smiley for this session, which is my fault, because it turned out the poor baby was relapsing with his double ear infection. I'll always feel bad about that, but we did get some great portraits.

We're going back tomorrow for Alyssa's 5-year portraits, and we'll also attempt a picture of the three of them. :upsidedow
