Good morning, DDA! This is my "smiley" taken 1 minute ago...

Good morning. :) TGIF!

But beware. It's Friday the 13th. :scared:

Tia sorry about Connor

Glad he isn't any worse for the wear!

Well, I ran out of steam at the end. Sorry!

Hey, I can't find the Webkinz party link you posted in Chapter 18. By any chance, do you still know it? Thanks! :)

Amy, cute pics of Noah! :)
I actually didn't start the potty with DS until he was 2 & 10 mos. but by 2 & 11 mos. he was completely clean & dry and in underwear all day. Overnights took MUCH longer, but that's another story. Princess still hasn't mastered the overnight thing, either.

Fine as frog hair! :)

How are you doing?

I love that saying! :rotfl2:

I didn't know frogs had hair.

I am fine, thanks. :)

Frog's hair is so FINE you can't see it. ;)

I think you did a great job of playing catch-up, Amy! It was good to see your post here when I woke up this morning. :) And Noah's pictures are adorable. I once had a photo shoot of the girls done when Kristin had an undiagnosed case of pinworms. Looking at the pictures now I don't know why I didn't realize she was "sick!"

Ick. Pinworms are no fun. :scared:

Tammi & Elin - Sorry about your snow. It is cold and wet here for the third day in a row, and I have a bunch of errands to run with Princess this morning.

You all may already know this, but:

LATEST NEWS & HOT DEALS
AS OF 3/12/09

Discounted room-only rates and vacation packages for the general public are now available at Walt Disney World resorts for stays April 12-June 6!

I have quite a few more pages to go, but I didn't want this to get too long...
Well it's very nicely put together as far as the pictures. Large & glossy. Looks almost like a coffee table book its so pretty. However while the content is also well put together there is nothing in there that us die-hard Disney fans do not know already. There are some cute original comic strips at the end of the magazine which I have not seen before.

I probably would buy the 2nd edition out of curiousity & because I am a fan but it's no Disney magazine like they used to have.

I have not been to work since 3/10 so I am not sure if TDS sells it. I got mine in Barnes & Noble.

Let us know what you think when you receive it.

I have been avoiding looking for it, because I don't want to buy it.

Hope you feel better today, Beth! And :yay: on getting your application completed and ready to go! Good luck!

Thanks! The hives are starting to pop out on my forearms now. I've never had them anywhere except my legs. I don't know what I am allergic to other than tree pollens, and I haven't heard that they are a problem yet. The 24-hour antihistamine seems to last about 12 hours for me, so at least I don't itch too much all day.

Good morning, I am back :) I am going to try & catch up so I can read about what has been going on while I have been away.

For the most part I had a wonderful time, the weather was beautiful(freezing here now lol). I was able to meet up with Becky a few times but am saddened that I did not get to meet up with Vicki or Jennifer :guilty:

Will post more later, hope all is well with everyone!

Welcome back! I can't wait to hear all about the trip!

:confused3
Hmmmmm, I have read rumors that they may make TT into a Cars type ride. I like TT as it is so I hope thats not true.

I like TT but don't love it. If they put in a well-done Cars ride, I could be happy.

Good morning....

  No Eric today!!!

Becky- Welcome Back!

Janet- Welcome Back!

Beth- Congrats on getting your application finished! I hope the meds continue to help. My theory on allergies is that they cause all sorts of trouble! Not very scientific but, true nonetheless in this house.

Theresa- :wizard: hope your feeling better.

Tammi- :cool1: for completing the Science Fair Project!

Elin- We definitely need to plan a date.

Thanks! I'm glad that you had an Eric-free day.

I need some advice from those of you who have planned longer Disney trips (Anne Marie, Elizabeth, to name a few). We've got nine days planned in August. I am trying to do our itinerary and am so used to planning to be at a park at rope drop. Also, our trips are usually 5-6 days, so I pretty much plan something for everyday. But now I feel like I must slow down, stretch things out, sleep in and go later in the day, stay up later, have a non-park day. How do you do this, plus still make your ADRs? I've made a list of where I'd like to eat, but I have to somehow fit them into a schedule.

ETA: I take that back. I just checked and my waitlist for BLT came through, so now we will arrive on the 9th. We'll be there 8 days, not 9.

Do either Citricos or Narcoosee's have Wishes viewing like CG?

Yay for BLT!!! We go for 10-14 days at a time, but we are always there for park opening and usually stay until closing. We do a half day or two half days at the water parks during the trip which can be relaxing (since our favorites are the wave pool and the lazy river). The last trip we did TL until about 2 pm and then went back to the room for a while. I did laundry while the kids napped. Then we headed to the food court for dinner and went to EMH at MK until 3 am. We slept in the next day. That's the only time we've had a mid-day nap or slept in past park opening. It was fun, too. But we only get to WDW every 2-3 years (or less :sad2: ) so we do have more drive to go, go, go for the whole trip.

We always say we will swim, we always say we will go to the water park, we always say we'll go play mini golf. It never happens.

Of course last year it was so flippin' RAINY we wouldn't have been able to play mini golf!

Definitely too rainy for mini golf last August! You could have joined us at Blizzard Beach in the pouring rain. I think maybe there were a couple hundred others there. We almost never saw another guest. But, hey, if we were going to be soaked anyway, we might as well be at a water park.

Arrgh! I've gotten 2 thanks but no thanks in the last 24 hours....one for the foundation I really wanted to work at....and I've gotten no response to an email I sent to the one interview I had on Friday. I am so frustrated!!!

Gee, I wonder if that is why I can't sleep?? and have had a dull to roaring headache the last 3 days??

 I am so sorry, Theresa.

My realtor just called. We have an agreement with our buyers & we now have a contract. Our closing on my NY house is at the end of June. Yay the kids won't have to leave until the school year is over. They do get a short summer since we get out late here in the northeast & they go back early (aug 25). I am so relieved that this house is in contract & we will have the new place at the end of this month. It has been very stressful on all accounts & to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel is just so great.

I do have a question...our new home will need new appliances in the kitchen. I'd like stainless steel. We need to buy fridge, stove, micowave.hood, & dishwasher. Also a clotheswasher & dryer. Can anyone reccommend a good/reliable brand?

We researched dishwashers recently and went with Bosch. I have a Kitchen-Aid wall oven and a Kenmore refrigerator that I haven't had any problems with. I also was pushing for stainless, but then I read what a pain they were to keep clean of fingerprints, and knowing that housework isn't my forte or priority, I decided to go with white.

My mom had her mamo today and the tech is not sure if she saw something around the scar area of the breast that had cancer, so she had an ultrasound done also. Now to wait on the results of the ultrasound.

:wizard: that it is nothing!

Okay, I am off to Panera Bread for some good food...and then some window shopping hopefully my mood will brighten....As Cassidy said recently I am cranky and easily irritated!

:wizard: that your mood brightens. You certainly have cause to be a bit irritable, but I hope that you feel better.

Hi! :wave2:

I'm back on page 46, but I wanted to let you all know I was back in Cincinnati. The kids and I had a great time visiting my family, and Kevin was very productive in our absence.

We got home Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m. Kevin and I left for the Billy Joel/Elton John concert. Though they can't hit the high notes as well anymore, they are still amazing singers, and we had a great time (especially people-watching ;) ).

Matty was thrilled with his big boy bed, and these past two nights, he hasn't given us any trouble with getting out of bed, etc. Now, if only potty-training him would be so easy. He claims he is "too little." Silly!

Yesterday, I had a wonderful conference with Alyssa's teacher, and I tried to tackle unpacking, laundry, etc. Poor Noah was pretty off-schedule, so he was a crabby-patty, but he's doing much better today. He's going through a little separation-anxiety when I leave the room though. And, he's still waking up at least twice a night. He's silly, too! :goodvibes

We have lots of things coming up: I'm hosting a shower for my SIL on 3/21, Alyssa and Kevin are in the church musical on 3/22, Alyssa's Webkinz birthday party is on 3/28, followed by a whirlwind of Easter activities.

I hope you are all well. I'll try to get caught up on the thread this weekend. Take care everyone! :grouphug:

 Hi, Amy!

Janet - The styes are getting better, thanks. There is just one that is still red and ugly. I am hoping it goes back to normal color soon. It has been 8 days since I went to the Dr. and this one is just being really stubborn.
I am sorry your trip wasn't what you had hoped for! And I would definitely complain about the luggage being damaged!
Mmmm. Strawberry shortcake sounds fabulous!

I asked DH to pour a diet soda for me since he was in the kitchen. There ISN'T ANY, because he drank it all! :headache: He doesn't like diet, but he ran out of his canned soda so he drank all of mine and never mentioned it! Now he is at the grocery store. I could have bought soda at the grocery on Saturday IF I HAD KNOWN it was all gone, but I didn't know. I bought the diet for myself, and I expected it to be there when I went to have one because I am the only one who drinks diet!

I had to laugh at this -- doesn't his job take him to stores for work? :rolleyes1

Good luck with the stye that won't behave. I'm trying to take a bunch of things to a higg-end consignment store today in the hopes they can help me with summer school tuition. This 20% pay cut is really scaring me, but we've gotten some more work this week. I'm hopeful things will turn around. Just sad that I won't get to see the snow next week.

Good luck with the errand running in this cold nasty weather!

I guess I probably shouldn't mention that while I'm reading this, I'm eating Ben and Jerry's Peach Cobbler ice cream. Sorry, Tammi! I'll have a spoonful for you.

I got Katie all registered for Jr. High today. It was kind of a bittersweet thing. She's really excited about things. Along with her required classes of English, Science, Utah history, Math, CTE, PE and Art she is also going to take Intermediate Orchestra, Choir, and Drama. If any of her electives don't come through, she chose Mythology, Dance and French I as her alternates. It just doesn't seem possible that I have a child old enough to be in 7th grade.

Now, I get to spend some time getting ready for the twins birthday on the 21st. They are going to have a cooking party, where their friends will come over, decorate aprons, make chef hats, make their own pizzas, put together fruit salad on skewers and watch Ratatouille. They are only inviting 6 friends, so it should be ok.

Those sound like great classes. I also love the party idea. I had a couple of spoonfuls of that every ice cream last week. It is rich, so just a couple worked well. :) Well, that and I knew I didn't have but a couple of WW points left for the day.

You all know how terrible I am about sharing pictures, but I finally have some to share tonight. We were in Disney around Noah's 6-month milestone, and he was sick for his 7-month, so I followed Jen's lead and scheduled 8 month portraits.

He's such a little guy, especially compared to how quickly Matty raced through baby-hood. No teeth yet and no crawling either. He wasn't overly smiley for this session, which is my fault, because it turned out the poor baby was relapsing with his double ear infection. I'll always feel bad about that, but we did get some great portraits.

We're going back tomorrow for Alyssa's 5-year portraits, and we'll also attempt a picture of the three of them. :upsidedow

Very cute pictures! I love the one of him with his head on the puppy. The last two show Matty's smile!

Janet -- I'm glad you could look at the silver lining on your trip. It's good that DH doesn't mind you and the boys going. I do hope he will change his mind about Disney one day. You just never know.

Have a good day everyone! :)

Have a good day everyone!

Thanks for your reply. We went to BB last year, so this year I think we will try TL.

I've been super dizzy since about noon. I'm not sure if it is because the aquatics center is so hot or if something is brewing. My tummy is wonky too, but that seems to be the norm lately for me :confused3 I've decided to go to work and see how I do and go from there. It's kind of late to be calling in, but I was fine this morning.

I hope that it was just the heat!

No kidding. If it's not me, it"s one of the boys:sad2: I'm so glad that I got the flu shot

 We almost never get sick around here, but this has been a rough month or so. Now Laura is sick. I had to go pick her up at school yesterday. She was trying so hard to make it to the end of the day so that she could take her chemistry test, but finally she just had to give in. I took her temperature when we got home, and it was 102*! It's come down some to just over 100*, but she also has a sore throat and headache. We're supposed to be going to a synchro meet out of town tomorrow. I guess we'll have to see how she is doing.

CSR was wonderful! As Chanon said we got a new room & it looks as good as the pictures. I love the wood sliding doors instead of the curtains. The grounds are beautiful & make for lovely walks at night. I still think the Pepper Market is over priced, but if on the DDP it would be worth the cs credit. No problems with the buses, got to all the parks fairly quick.

I think this will be my resort of choice from now on ::yes:: Gary loved that it did not scream Disney & really liked the theming(sp). I just need to get the boys there now & see what they think!

Sounds great!

:wizard: Hope things go well with that! Sounds perfect for you!

Thanks!

Well even though I hated to leave Disney & the wonderful weather it is good to be home & see my boys :goodvibes Of course when I go to work tomorrow I may change my mind lol

This trip was a little different for me, Gary is not a big fan of Disney. I was hoping though that with just the two of us it might be different. We did have some good days & enjoyed being together, but if Gary ever goes again I will be really surprised. This does sadden me as I love Disney very much & wish we could share this together. But I would rather go alone or with my boys than to go again with someone who just isn't in to it. I know I am sounding like a downer, but I will not sugar coat it.

I tried to make the best of it & I think I did. Mk is my favorite park & I think I maybe got a total of 4 hours there. Some was my fault & some because that is the one park Gary really does not like. We did have full days at Epcot & DHS, but we did not make it to AK.

At MK I was able to at least ride my 2 favorites, HM & POC. At Epcot we rode TT, Soaring, & SE & at DHS, TSM(Gary did think this was fun)& TGMR. So as you can tell not much was done at the parks besides a lot of walking & looking.

The only TS meals we made it to were Cape May & Beirgarten. We did eat at Pecos Bills(new for me), Tangerine Cafe, Maya Grill for breakfast(wasn't really hungry so did not enjoy very much), Big River Grill(new to me), Cookes Of Dublin(did not like the taste of the batter on the fish), & the Pepper Market(great steak fajitas!).

We enjoyed walking around the resort at night as it is very beautiful. I did try a few new drinks, which is something I normally do not do beings I am usually with the boys.

The parks for the most part were not to crowded or at least not to me. The weather was perfect even though a couple of nights it did get pretty chilly.

I came home with a cold & a sunburn ;)

Not sure when my next trip will be, but I am looking forward to it as are the boys.

I love Gary very much & I know he does me too & I guess he did try as well, but it just didn't happen on this trip.

So there you have it & please don't feel bad for me, I did get to go to Disney after all :)

I am sorry! My dh isn't much of a Disney fan either. :sad2: I do want to go back with him, but if he doesn't really want to go again, I'll be happy taking the kids. Of course, I need to find the money first.

I trained Nicholas when I was on maternity leave after having Alyssa. He was 2 and 7 months, and was soooo easy. Why couldn't it have been that way the 2nd time around???

I trained Katrina at about the same age and agree about the 2nd. Becky absolutely refused. I think she was 4 before we got her trained. It drove me crazy! She is so obstinate.

My first was the most resistant. He told me, "I like my diapers." But then when I finally convinced him (at 3 yrs, 2 months), he never had a single accident. The other two were ready around 2.5 years, and they didn't have many accidents either.

Until Easter. I told the kids we could have ice cream for breakfast on Easter. How many cool Mom points do you think I would get for that? :cool2:

Definitely lots of cool mom points!

Hello all.

I had a great multi-quote and response started earlier. I really thought I had posted it, but I guess that's when I got distracted by lots of screams and cries from downstairs. I guess Connor was running (as usual) and fell (which happens alot) into either the corner of the wall or the corner of the baseboards. He ended up with a gash in his forehead. We stopped the bleeding and covered it with a butterfly closure. When I went to look at it a few hours later it was still gaping around the closure so I ended up calling the exchange. They suggested stitches so Chris came to get him just after 6 and they aren't back yet. Last I knew they were waiting for the topical numbing agent to go to work and were going to be putting in two stitches. I feel so bad that I didn't take him in earlier, but in the heat of the moment I didn't think it was that bad. After a second look and talking to the nurse, I realized that while not long or deep, the width was just too much to heal well on it's own. :( Hopefully, he'll be home soon and doing okay after the stitches. We did go and get him a Monster Truck to cheer him up, plus I'd made him brownies this afternoon.

Poor guy! I'm glad to hear that he is feeling better.

You all know how terrible I am about sharing pictures, but I finally have some to share tonight. We were in Disney around Noah's 6-month milestone, and he was sick for his 7-month, so I followed Jen's lead and scheduled 8 month portraits.

What cute pictures!

Jen just posted on Facebook that they are home. :)

Welcome home, Jennifer!

Good morning, DDA!!!

Tammi and Elin - Sorry to see some white stuff outside your windows this morning. Tues it was over 80 here and Wed morning it was 23. Terra was not a happy camper. We went into the car and she was yelling, "I thought it was spring-almost-summer!!!" Poor thing, I thought she was going to cry. Luckily, now ice or snow and the stuff that hit OK last night isn't headed our way.

Amy - Love the pictures of Noah! They're very cute.

Jen - Hope today is better. :wizard:

Thanks for your reply. We went to BB last year, so this year I think we will try TL.

I much prefer TL. But we like the wave pool so much that we spend a lot of time there. We also prefer the body slides to slides with tubes or mats, and those are better at TL. Plus, I like the "tropical" feel instead of the "snow." It much more relaxing to me.

:scared1: I woke up to this!
18.gif

This weather is making me  . Twelve days ago we had eight inches of snow. Five days after that it was 80 degrees. A week later, today, it's 30 and snowing again. :sad2: Where is spring?!?!:confused3

When you find it, spread it up north!

I hear there is a rumor that characters will be returning to LTT.

Hi everyone! :)

Heidi, congratulations! :yay:

I had intended to catch up properly and might still, but not yet. I have 2200 pictures (not including photopass and race proofs) to go through, and want to try to do as much of it as possible before Kyle goes back to work.... all on new software. :faint:

Please let me know if there is anything big going on!

And Lindsay, I know you are planning a baby-clothes shopping trip :) -- I am happy to report there is SO much more available now than there was when I was pregnant! I had a hard time finding ANYTHING, but now there are plenty of outfits in many of the stores, and "Pooh Corner" at DTD has boatloads of adorable things! :goodvibes:
